For all I know there's an excellent game after that "challenge". But I don't have the patience for that shit when I've got several hundred other games I could be playing that won't frustrate the shit out of me. Frustration is the single thing that will make me quit a game and never come back.

I'd have to go with promising but inherently flawed. There's just so much chance involved that it becomes tedious and frustrating, to the point that winning in the strategic management portions of the game just feel as if you're succeeding through dumb luck more than anything else. It's kind of like banging your head against a wall and hoping that you break through to the other side without hurting yourself.

The narrative, art style, and music really make me want to like it, but there's so much working against it.

It's not that I don't care about DLC; I just don't care about it quite as much as I do games. I paid 20 keys for Strategy First's "illegal" version of Paper Monsters but I'd never go that far for a piece of pulled DLC.

Destroyed the alien brain in X-Com: UFO Defense. It's been a while since I had that much fun with a game, to the point where I played it nonstop.

Is it even eligible? Anyway, it's probably going to be Destiny.

I assume the Remastered version will be eligible. I mean, looking at last year's, games like Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut were eligible. Destiny has a lot of hype behind it, so maybe.

It's the F-Zero game I've been waiting years for. Well, except it has guns.

btw been playing beyond two souls and while david cage games have always intrigued me, i think he's really crumbling as a game designer...

it's also still hilariously bizarre, i love how extreme everything even barely related to sex is. like jodie goes to a bar, there's gotta be a rape scene, jodie kisses a boy at a party and she gets humiliated and called a slut in front of everybody.

David Cage games, at least post-Omikron, always have some creepy sexual scenes involving women in them and I don't know why (haven't played/seen Omikron either so don't know about that one). It always makes me uncomfortable every time.

And I hope there's no Indigo Prophecy sequel. One is more than enough for me >_>

I still like Heavy Rain the most overall. I feel like he needs to be reined in when it comes to writing so he doesn't go out of control with paranormal stuff.

(i still think indigo prophecy has one of the best videogame beginnings of all time).

The game's about spooky ghosts and weirdly written in military sequences in nonsensical settings. It gets progressively dumber over the course of the game and the big plot twist is so obvious that it hurts.

it's very awkward as i think he's trying to empower female characters somewhat but then sneaks pseudo-rape scenes out of nowhere which are just weird overall

It's also mostly to show off and impress people, because to get there you have walk a long staircase carved in the cliff, and on the beach there's nothing at all, like not even a little bit of shade, so I'm too lazy and it's too harsh for me to bother going down there anyway. Luckily Elba Island is literally full of wonderful - and more lazy-friendly - beaches!

It's a tie between that one and the scene with Madison and the surgeon guy if he knocks her out that bother me the most. Honestly, it sometimes feels like he's writing in bizarre sexual fantasies and it just makes me uncomfortable.

Heavy Rain, and Indigo Prophecy too, really feels like a game with so much potential that falls short. Like the whole solve the puzzles before Shaun dies element to Heavy Rain could have been handled way better. I still think that the blackout dream sequences should have stayed in the game minus the connection the sequences were originally supposed to have with the killer.

He probably shouldn't, but his games are liked to the point that he'll be directing and writing for a long time. I just hope Cage's next game turns out better, because I feel like if he could just get things right, it could possibly be great. Beyond kinda ruins that idea though.
