Good luck with that. ;) I'm not even sure what could compel me to enter one, really.

- I wouldn't enter for [some random game], because it wouldn't feel right to pinch it from somebody who may have wanted to actually play it
- I wouldn't enter for [some licensed game], for the same reason
- I wouldn't enter for [this year's AssCreed] because even though I would actually play it, it wouldn't feel right to win something that I could just buy myself

My arcade stick gets tons of usage with Steam. There is just no beating the feel of an arcade stick for specific genres of games. Ten or even five or so years ago there would not have been near as many arcade stick options on the PC. But when you combine more consistent PC gamepad support (I credit the wired 360 pad here) with the explosion of indie platformers, shooters, and retro styled games there is no shortage anymore. If you get the bug hard enough you'll end up in Arcade Stick GAF like I did.

Plus knowing that you won't have a buy a new stick per generation (or replace the PCB or something like that) is another great bonus of PC arcade stick gaming.

Would you not even enter if someone, by some miracle, gave away a steam copy of Wheel Man? I'm assuming that would be the only thing that has a chance.

Course, any nice SteamGAFFER would give you first dibs before raffling, I think.

Omikron's one of those games that deserves a remake. I'd love to see what could be done with the idea now - the futuristic city of Omikron brought to life with a GTA/Saints Row level of detail, the FPS and hand-to-hand combat bits integrated seamlessly with the rest of the game, character-specific skills that could be leveraged to solve puzzles (Need to pick a lock? Find a thief to possess! Searching for data hidden in a government mainframe? Take over a hacker!)... so much could be done with the basic idea now.

While I wouldn't use it as a selling point, it's works really good with the narrative. The DS4 speaker also sounds way better than the old Wiiremote.

And I'm probably more of an audio buff than you are. I have a range of studio-class headphones and eagerly waiting for my Oppo HA-1/PM-1 Combo (hopefully in August, not so easy to get them in europe - at least not without manufacture warranty shenanigans). But it doesn't really matter. The speaker feature isn't about audio quality, it's about immersion/atmosphere.

Steam community forums can be absolutely awful about that stuff. And yeah, it's not like PC guys are immune to that stuff either. What boggles me is that people actually believe that stuff. Like I'll say it sometimes just to be funny or dumb, but I don't actually believe that shit.

I think Sonic Racing would be cool. I'll probably participate in both that and CS if I can.

No idea yet. They're all now tied to a silent launcher aptly named AppLauncher.exe, however I'm not sure why. It would appear as though Sega is patching in DRM but surely that's not the case, haha.

Replaying Mirror's Edge, first time on pc. Game is still so much fun. I still remember all the level layouts from the time trials back in the day. And it looks drop dead gorgeous on pc.

Viscera Cleanup Detail is now one of the top games I played this year. I've been really enjoying it since I like to clean shit up. Almost done with the cryogenics level.

Yeah, some USB chipsets don't really like MadCatz sticks. But I'd thought it was more an issue with the PS3 sticks than the 360 ones... No better way to find out, I guess.

I was kind of glad I missed out on it on consoles, I remember the jaggies were kind of terrible on the ps3 when I played the demo, the increased resolution and framerate really makes it into a super gorgeous game, so playing it for the first time on pc is like some next gen shit. I didn't like anything related to the gun dudes but man I really love the platforming and just running around the city.
