Am I the only one who doesn't really trust any game enthusiast site? I don't remember much, but I seem to have an impression that GiantBomb can be slightly biased and are not that good with presenting facts.
Also when they're streaming games their faces look dead and their jokes hollow and I have never really seen them be genuinely excited for anything.
In my case, I think it's that as I've drifted more towards the PC as my primary gaming platform, the whole pre-release "hype cycle" and the subsequent fussing over review scores feels less and less relevant to me. Sometimes I'm vaguely curious as to how my opinion of a game stacks up to the reviewers' after the fact, but when it comes to picking what to play, I'm more interested in what SteamGAF has to say.
Extracted all the spares from my humble account finally. No one can accuse me of trying to quickly make megagiver either

What's up with Rise of Venice price on gamersgate, I mean base price, it's 44.99, it has -80% discount, but it's 9 with said discount. Or they "updated" base price before doing this sale?
edited: Happy Birthday, Man Puncher.
you shouldn't overdo that russian roulette thingie, it usually backfires horribly in the end. (><)
One final Russian Birthday Roulette to see out this wonderful day.
Are you a bad enough rat to rescue the president?

Alright, so this is in no order but how I remember them, I'll try to get a few good horror games out of the way, but if you ever want more obscure or just more examples with some pros and cons, just ask.
Daamn.. Thanks for the amazing list, Dusk! I greatly appreciate it, and all of them sound pretty fantastic. I have a lot to study up on when I wake up from sleep that I really need.
for an year old game that isn't exactly popular, to put it mildly, that gamersgate price is ridiculous. I'm not sure the game cost that much the day it was released (><)
I think it was 40 on release day.

So Ozium kept telling me that I needed Bad Rats to get Divinity, but I got Divinity and then Bad Rats! Maybe he had it backwards... The bad part is that this DQs me from winning Saint's Row 4, but whatever. I still haven't finished 3...
Goodnight Man Puncher, great sendoff for the birthday.
And so, our hype train nears the station. Unfortunately I won't be around by the time the store page updates so this will be considered the final Hype Train in the sky:
Big thanks to everyone who showed their tickets, this train is boarding almost 60 people (2 self-admitted slackers) on the way to launch! I hope everyone's enjoyed their ride upon the Galaxy Express 999 and have fun playing

“No! I must buy the Bad Rats” Marco shouted
The SteamGAF said “No, Marco. You have the Bad Rats”
And then Marco was a MarcoZombieCannon.
I'm not going to sleep, I'm just going to lay on my bed with the laptop and groan a lot.

Okay, but just because I love you guys. I edited the post above with the new final image. I think that puts us at or over 60 avatars on the train now! I can't possibly keep adding more though as I am getting really tired.
Do you need to own a game to add artwork to the tab? I want to upload that to the steam artwork tab haha
all right then, by exclusive i don't know if you meant PC only or stuff you can't get with your consoles so i'll just go with the latter since it makes more sense (also by Wii i suppose you don't mean Wii U)
i don't know if you are looking to play other stuff but i'll just make a couple of suggestions to get you started in a few genres :
By the way I know that jumping from PC to console and vice versa can be intimidating coz friend list and shits so here's my ID if you want to add me : http://steamcommunity.com/id/RobertJSullivan/
Not an exhaustive list, I'll try to keep as varied as possible and there will be a lot of great games not mentioned. Oldies but goodies will be left out but the greatest perk of PC in my opinion is backwards compatibility so check out old games someday. My take on these games is 100% biased.
Also, legit advice, I know sometimes it's tempting to dismiss a game because it doesn't look good or because you don't like the genre but I guarantee you that's a great mistake and a disservice to yourself. Almost every game deserve a chance and it's that way that you'll end up discovering great games. GAF isn't a safe haven for people who know it all, most games aren't talked about here and it's a damn shame because a lot of gems and rough diamonds are left out and that's why I greatly appreciate what Toma does. Not judging games before playing them is the greatest gift you can give yourself as a gamer.
FPS/Coop/Moddable : Killing Floor
One of the most popular games on Steam, not a big budget and a bit rough around the edgse but gunplay is top notch and that's all that I ask from a FPS (that and good level design). It's dirt cheap on every sale so you should grab it. For the little story, the game was originally going to be a "cheap" game and Tripwire's big IP was Red Orchestra 2 at the time. Killing Floor ended up being Tripwire's best selling game ever and RO2 is what it is.
Killing Floor 2 is probably releasing next year (or maybe at the end of this one but unlikely) and if they get their shit right it's automatically going to be a serious GotY contender.
Rogue-lite/Platformer/Action/Coop and solo : Risk of Rain
One of my biggest surprises on Steam, simple concept but really fleshed out. You get through several levels who have some small randomized parts, you earn cash by which you can either buy drones or items. There's a ton of them. You unlock characters by either finding "secret" spots on some maps or doing a challenge. Challenges also unlock items.
Also, cool small thing, each item has its description and sometimes there's a little story attached to it.
Graphics are pixel-art but surprisingly animated very well which makes it really aesthetically pleasing. Oh and did I mention that the OST is fucking great.
RPG/Turn Based/Coop and solo : Divinity : Original Sin
I haven't played a lot of it because my coop partner has his head up his ass so I can't form a competent opinion on this. From what I played though, this game is worth every cent. Full of details, a lot of interactivity, great turn based combat. Most people who played it think it's probably going to end up on the top of their GotY list. We asked and Larian delivered.
One of the best selling games on Steam, you probably heard about it. Like Killing Floor it's avalaible for dirt cheap on almost every sale. You probably know the jist of games like that. Why it's great : a lot of interesting biomes, character progression through the stuff you find (armors and weapons of course but also accessories that give you a double jump for example or diamond hearts that you can find and increase your maximum life), giant bosses, dungeons, motherfucking grappling hook.
When it's released (and it may take a while), look out for Starbound. Basically Terraria but bigger and with a lot more shit to do.
Porn : The Witcher 2
A compelling porn game but the devs somehow thought it would be a good idea to put some RPG sequences between all the shagging.
Platformer : Shovel Knight
You probably know everything about this. Top tier OST and just a great game overall. You know when you think back about the games you played in your childhood fondly and when you actually play them sometimes you can get a bit disappointed ? Shovel Knight is exactly that minus the disappointement, but it also stands up to games that are done today.
RTS/Squad based game : Warhammer 40k : Dawn of War II series
I played this one a while back but I remember that it was pretty solid. Solo game is squad based so no unit building, multiplayer has unit building though. Polished and a decent amount of content. I don't know if multiplayer has still people playing it, it probably has since it's one of the rare games of its kind on Steam.
Platformer/Metroidvania : Aquaria
I'll just copy/paste this stuff I wrote about the game :
First indie game that really got me started was Aquaria. I got it through a giveaway here I believe. I started the game not expecting much but I launched it anyway because I liked metroidvanias.
First hour of gameplay was okay-ish, the game was pretty and that was it I think, I didn't think much of the gameplay or crafting system. Then I got to the open waters, saw all the giant animals, heard the music, all the places I could go and it hit me. The game was really amazing visually and the narrator grew on me. After a while I got to the corrupted area and it really struck me that this game could be this beautiful and still manage to make areas so menacing and foul, I really had a disturbing feeling in that area and the last area in the game was even worse in that regard.
And just after that I arrived at the forest, it was even prettier than what I had visited until then and by that time I had a good grip on the shooting and the crafting, it was great. But more than that, the ambient track was just so good, I think it's the music that stuck the most with me.
I think it's the only game that has moved me, and more than that, moved me in a wonder-of-discovery kind of way. More than a year after having finished the game I only have to fire up the forest's song to remember how great that game was : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFIOuQjgMYY
I discovered the game back when I studied heavily for exams, and every night I was tired when I got home. I used to put my headset on, play the game for a bit and it was really relaxing. And yet, this game also had the most disturbing moments I ever experienced in a game. Really, corrupted areas had a weird effect on me.
Still to this day I believe that even though the animations were shit Aquaria is the most beautiful game I've ever played.
And you know, I thought, that was a game that I was ready to dismiss just because it was indie and yet it shaped up to be one of my most cherised games. So I got out there and started playing games, and now I play everything from Teleglitch to GTA5, including God Hand, Chrono Trigger, Dawn of War, Spelunky, Killing Floor, and there never was a moment where I had more games to play than now, and it's all thanks to Aquaria.
You, your spaceship, your crew. You can move your crew through your ship and assign them one post, travel through space with each area having randomized events : encounter a slave ship and save the slaves and take them on your crew and let it go, find a delerict ship and send your crew to investigate or just plain old "hey here's an enemy drone, let's blow it up". Collect ressources to upgrade your ship or buy new weapons for it. Hard but fair and a good game overall.
FPS/RPG (kinda)/Moddable : STALKER Series (recommended : Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat, Pripyat is the most accessible and the best one imo)
The most unique FPS we ever had, I don't know where to start and I honestly won't. There's just so much stuff to say about both the good and bad. Other people will probably sell the game much better than I can.
We won't get Stalker 2 though, and it's a fucking shame.
Point&Click : Sam And Max S1&2&3
The only video game that ever me laugh with it and not at it. Great characters, funny situations, top notch voice acting and good OST. Puzzles are sometimes convoluted but all make sense in their own twisted way. The characters will probably grow on you through the season and you will be heartbroken by S3 ending's because it will be time to leave them all behind.
Season 1 is the worst because of the jank and slow movement, Season 2 (a lot) is better and Season 3 is almost perfect.
WHERE'S SEASON 4 TELLTALE WHO CARES ABOUT ZOMBIES OH MY GOD.
The best game of its kind on Steam (pls don't hit me bald symphony folks), the melee combat is really fleshed out with fake attacks, attack on blind spots, parries and different kind of blows. It just recieved an overhaul just in time to celebrate 2 million copies sold too and will get a lot of new players next sale.
FPS/Ocarina of Fast : Shadow Warrior
An old-school FPS with good gunplay and great melee combat. I rate it 9 on the wang-o-meter.
I'll stop there but I'll just drop some quick names for you :
Highly recommended (may be time consuming) : FPS/F2P : Team Fortress 2
FPS/RTS : Natural Selection 2
RTS/Action/Rage : Dota 2
Roguelite/Platformer : Spelunky
Games you should check out coz video games are cool : TPS/F2P/Multiplayer : Loadout FPS/Survival : Unturned FPS/Open World/Multiplayer : Planetside 2 Metroidvania/Platformer : Dust : An Elysian Tail TPS/Atmospheric : Alan Wake Roguelite : Binding of Isaac Stealth : Hitman : Blood Money
Games that are on Wii/PS3 and if you don't own them you may have done a terrible mistake : TPS : Resident Evil 4 Metroidvania/Platformer : Cave Story + Hack'n Slash : Metal Gear Rising/DMC4 Platformer/Coop/Legit : Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Git Gud Or Die Trying : Souls Series Metroidvania/BDSM : La-Mulana
Played Landmark for a while. Gathering resources takes forever in the game. I imagine you get better tools to make it faster as you progress, and of course there are cash shop items that increase your resource collection rate and all. But yea, it's painfully slow when you start off.
Can I ask what type of horror game it is. Is it an FPS like Fear or something else? I personally like games like Fatal Frame (If you know it) where you scavenge for items in a big old mansion in search for clues on your adventure.
Can I ask if the first Witcher is available on Steam/GOG?
I haven't played the first one yet and I'm reluctant to start the second part because of it. I'm unusually finicky about this. Unless I finished the previous parts of a series, I can't seem to get my mind off it. Unless the series' story is just loosely based upon each other. Example: Final Fantasy series.
