Are anyone here PC-only gamers?
I'm thinking of selling all of my consoles (not the PS4 though), but have never tried having so few playing machines.

I basically now only play on PC, I still have PS3, for some games I plan on playing, but I all but abandoned DS and others, I haven't bought any new consoles either. I have so many games to play on PC that I don't really feel the need to buy one, that might change at the later date, but so far it's how it is.
Then again it can be totally different for you, as I'm not interested in first party games of any console makers for the most part and my gaming tastes are somewhat not that common as it is apparent from the steam thread too.

I have a PS4 and PC, but am basically PC only - my PS4 is barely ever turned on, has only been used this year for Bloodborne, genuinely couldn't tell you when I used it before that outside general media use.

Only a PS3 right now. It's my JRPG machine.
I'll still need it for the upcoming Persona 5, but other than that I rarely use it nowadays. So you can safely say I'm a PC-only gamer, yeah.

I am going to make it through this year if it kills me

Basically, due to living arrangements for the last few years. I only played the last of us this year.

Have been PC-only all my life.

I'm not sure that's such a good thing. Haven't you ever been curious even? Like IDK, I bought most of my consoles because I was curious about games that had nothing like those games on PC.
Unless you are really young, then it's understandable.

I guess I played wrong then if I didn't see the burnout.

but that could be your character, I noticed that you easily stick with games and finish them fast, many of us have problem with both those things especially sticking part.
That was meant as a compliment, btw.

I still have a Ps3, 3ds, 360 and a vita, but noticed that somehow the games I liked on consoles before are almost all coming out on either the PC or Vita or even the old PS3.

Japanese games were huge on the PS2. That is why I bought it. During that time western games were either on the Xbox or the PC. Now its different. Consoles consists of mostly western developed games while japanese games are either on a handheld, the PC or maybe PS4 but not in a big quantity.

PC+WiiU+3DS+Vita nowadays, sorted by playtime

Smash and Splatoon is so awesome, handhelds are great for travelling and vacations!

Curious? Sure. Back then I always viewed consoles as exotic things. But my parents didn't see the need to buy an expensive gaming machine, when they can buy an expensive PC which I can use for study and also game on. I also didn't push for it, because I already had lots of games. And when I got into uni I got a notebook and I didn't even play games for years. Only got back into it a couple of years ago and Steam/Humble/GoG have been serving me well. I don't really see a need to own a console at the moment. And I'd rather spare money for a proper rig this time and potentially VR.

PS4, PC, Wii U, Xbone, VIta, 3DS here. Right now Im mostly using my PS4 for some reason.

No, because I have always liked options. I hate being confined to one or a few systems. Like now with the AK pc debacle, I can just get it on PS4. Right now I'm PC/PS4/WiiU/3DS. Last gen I had every console too.

This. Got Batman: AK on PS4 due to the PC debacle.

I bought Arkham Knight on PC because it looks and runs better (no drops to 20 or below 20 in the batmobile lol) than the PS4 release and at a higher resolution on my rig.

Nah, it was pretty alright. A bit janky for sure, but good.
I thought the game fit the character well. The jankiness never really bothered me, the visuals looked solid and the gameplay was varied enough to keep the game feeling fresh till the end. I like Deadpool so the humor was on point for me.

Basically yeah. PC offers nearly all I need, though I did recently pick up a cheapo PS3 to play some of the ArcSys fighting games and some anime Blu-Rays. There's only one exclusive game on the next gen consoles that interests me, Bloodborne, though that might change in the coming years.

My 360 is a complete hunk of junk, CD-rom has broken 3 times, power pack unreliable, red ring of death, broken hard drive and controller wonky. Haven't used it since GoW3. My PS3 works beautifully but I haven't played a game on it since GTAV came out. It's now just a netflix machine.

Also Indiegala's support have already come through with a new key for the one I traded.

Play Deamon Souls though

Yeah, that's on the way. Dragon's Crown too. Really though, the next gen consoles have never looked so unappealing to me as they do now. If Street Fighter V didn't have cross play, that might be an issue, but it does, so I'll stick with the PC version.

Pretty much.
Well, I have both PS360, but I haven't touched those in a long time. And I have zero plans to get any of the new gen consoles, at the moment.

Still rocking my PS3. Yakuza 5 baby! For Persona 5 I might have a PS4 by the time it's out.

Handhelds are a must. Vita and 3DS are full of awesome and it's definitely easier to find time to play on them.

PC is the main machine though, it's not even close.

I haven't had a console since the Wii/PS2. I'm really only into Japanese games, anyway, and I haven't played nearly enough of the ones on older consoles, so I don't need a new one. Except a Wii U. I probably need a Wii U.

Besides, most Japanese games for new consoles are coming to PC anyway, so I'm set. I'm just missing a few exclusives that I can pick up later, when the consoles are super cheap (e.g., Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia, whatever PS3 exclusives are still left on there like Drakengard 3 and Nier, etc.)

But here's hoping those come to PC, too.

For me its actually

PC & Vita. Though I probably should get a PS4 since I do have all those PS+ games for it.

PC-only now and for the foreseeable future. Multi-platform games are being released on the PC in a more steady manner this generation, the indie scene is huge, and emulation is a godsend.

I am not PC Only, have PS3 Vita and 3ds, but I could live without it. There are very few games that I NEED to experience myself, that I NEED to play myself because of the Gameplay.

Nowadays I only buy 1 or 2 PS3 games because they are on sale, but I would never rebuy the PS3 for these games.

Youtube Replays are enough for me on most Console games.

My most played PC Games are another matter, they are not good Youtube material. Gameplay or exploration is the main driver for these kind of games. Like Paradox Grand Strategy, X3, Mount and Blade, Total War, etc.

PS4 still has a massive games problem. I would argue far from the ideal compliment at this point.

Maybe at the end of 2016.

I don't think the situation will change significantly.
Other than first party titles, it's simply not cost effective not to release on PC as well.
Thank god curgen isn't shaping up like PS360 gen did.

this is 100% alien point of view to me, watching as someone plays and playing have literally nothing in common in my eyes, and I don't have enough free time to watch like others play, nor I ever wanted, unless it's someone I know in rl and there are reasons for this.

edited: then again it must be said that I'm not into "cinematic" games at all, I can't remember any I liked, also I don't think I ever liked a game if it had not particularly good or bad gameplay, that still depends on taste, as for example I find that Lost Odyssey gameplay is great as everything about this game is great and many don't share my opinion. It's a pity we never are getting it released on PC, it would benefit greatly by being on PC as in no loading times for example.

I wish gaming industry worked on logic but it doesn't
Still there are more and more games released on PC that used not to be on PC, so let's hope they sell well enough to keep it that way.

Thanks for all of these very interesting replies as to what platforms you have and why. I might end up selling all of my gaming machines and just stick to PC, but the two times I have sold consoles before, I have ended up regretting it, and rebuying.

But I also don't want gaming to dominate my life as much as it currently does, or should I say, dominates my economy. So it might be smarter of me to just get rid of most of it really.

Yet I don't think I'll get rid of the PS4, as I play FIFA/PES almost daily, and I love Sony first party.

Mobile (Phone) and PC for me. I own a PS3, but haven't used it much since GTA/TLoU so it kind of just takes up space.

I see no reason to change in the future either.

I've been PC only since mid-way through the last gen. Console games continue to get ever more prescribed and monotonous. The exclusive content is lacklustre and first party content is hardly engaging towards me bar 2 titles (one of which was already available last gen). Meanwhile the PC has so much interesting content and ingenuity across all kinds of genres, content and services. User experience is getting better and better too, and importantly I never lose my investments over time or have to pay rolling subscriptions.

It's pretty much the only platform I need or want at this point as far as gaming goes

I'd keep the PS4 man, if you enjoy sony's exclusive you'll definitely regret selling. With stuff like Horizon, Uncharted 4 and Last Guardian on the way it's definitely worth keeping around.

I begin to feel bundle withdrawal. You people didn't believe me when I said that it's getting less and less bundly all around last year, but it totally is.

or I have too many games

could it be that bundles sell too little these days and that devs found out that giving 90%+ discount on steam works better?

I've only just noticed today that the current main Humble has two RPG Maker games in $1 tier, ones I didn't have.
There's Groupees Build a Cheap Steam Library through Greenlight Fraud Bundle 28 coming up.
Tomorrow there should be a new Humble Weekly.
Lords of Xulima in 70% off on GOG, all time low.
Lots of ways to spend your money, is what I'm saying.
(Also, you have Card Hunter and Clicker Heroes, why do you feel the need to pay for games anymore?)

I watch lets Plays for the Story. I'm not into playing Puzzle-Adventures or Action Adventures but the Storys of Naughty Dogs Uncharted and Last of us are OK: So I watched a lets Play.
I even watch Lets Plays of Games I own or played myself but didnt have the time to finish them myself.
What is more time consuming, watching someone 100%ing a very long game where you can skip repeat combats or doing it yourself?
I watched the combat of Uncharted and Last of us for some minutes and know everything there is to it, the rest I skipped. Only had to spot in combat dialogue.

With lets plays I can be "in the know" without buying the game and investing time myself. There are enough games I play myself.

AND THEN! There is the issue of learning the combat. I started Agarest Generation of war 2 Times from scratch. Invested over 50 hours each and was burned out or hadn enough free time to finish it. The Agarest Battlesystem and everything else (crafting, achievements etc.) is very time consuming and needs very extensive notes to 100% it. I would have to had only invest 25 hours to watch a lets play instead of 100 hours without finishing it.
(bad example because I find the battlesystem gratifying, but I cant just "jump in" after not playing some time) I can manage a lets play and view it wshenever I like it.

Deep Silver drops Dead Island 2 developer Yager

UPDATE: Yager responds

UPDATE: Yager's CEO has responded to the news, blaming the split on the two companies' "respective visions of the project [falling] out of alignment".

"Our team is made of the best creative minds and tech specialists, who all share a common identity," managing director Timo Ullmann told GamesIndustry.biz. "The team worked with enthusiasm to take Dead Island 2 to a new level of quality. However, Yager and Deep Silver's respective visions of the project fell out of alignment, which led to the decision that has been made."
