STEAM | July 2015 - Nothing To Buy With Our Arkham Knight Refunds

Status
Not open for further replies.
I emailed them a few days ago and it took around 18 hours before I got a reply. Emailed them again today for the same reason as you and no reply yet, but it'll happen sooner or later.

I got a reply -- they said my issue should hopefully be fixed by Monday.

We have detected an issue on order processing and, currently, we are working to fix it.

Hopefully, your game will be available on your Nuuvem account by Monday.

I apologize for this inconvenience and if we may help you with something else, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

The best mask in Payday 2 and it was a humble bundle item :(

How did I miss that bundle?! I love how easily addicted you get to the mask game in Payday 2.

Freedom Planet is fun and looks great but I agree with everyone who said the bosses near the end of the game are super unbalanced. Only beat the game with one of the characters so far though so I still have a lot of replay value to get out of it.

Arkham Knight 100%ed (not Platinum, screw that), so back to Witcher 3.

I think it's kind of sad that Geforce Experience recommends turning Hairworks completely off with 2 780s. Nice confidence in your product, guys.

Bit ironic seeing all this payday 2 talk here with the shitstorm its devs are currently in with the xbox side.

Trash developers. I'll never support them again.

Even worse there is an awesome secret King/Queen/Jack/Joker mask pack but it was only given to people who asked for it at E3 or happened to redeem codes given out on twitter. It would have been perfect for the Golden Grin Casino update. :(

How do they not have Nintendo on their asses yet
The map pack was all references to other games, including a Pikachu mask. They were not trying to hide their influence with that map pack.

I dont really like the game, but the masks are something i really love about it.
They even have an official John Wick Promotion that allowed you to play as Keanue Reeves.

I think it's more sad that it recommends me (with a 980) having it maxed, when Hairworks frequently makes the game dip below 60 frames per second.

The main problem is that with their whack-ass setup, you can be running around in the starting zone, see something interesting, walk over to it and get clobbered by a level 25 earth elemental.
This... discourages exploration.

It's very easy to run away from any encounter and you can see an enemy's level as soon as you spot it, what you're saying isn't an issue at all.
Witcher lore contains all kinds of monsters, ranging from run-of-the-mill necrophages to arcane creatures that even Witchers avoid unless they don't have a choice.
Knowing that you can run into just about anything is what makes exploration so exciting.

Kind of like....Dark Souls? It doesn't discourage exploration, it encourages you to go someplace else immediately.

I don't see this as a real problem.

Oh, nope.

Keep forgetting to get that.

Good. Level scaled Oblivion and Skyrim bullshit can go die in a fire.

Just because there's risks to exploring doesn't mean you're discouraged from exploring.

What issues? I presume it's more complicated than just playing at 1600x900?
Are games playing in fullscreen or in a small "window" surrounded by black bars on all sides?

My laptops native res is 3200x1800. It's a nice system.

I'd say 4/5 games have issues though. Usually, it's something like the screen is only using the bottom right quadrant of the screen (the rest is black)... sometimes that bottom right is 'compressed' (entire game visible but tiny), other times it's just the top right corner of the game (often making hitting 'options' impossible.)

Sometimes switching the game to window'd mode and using one of several 'borderless windows' gaming apps i have installed fixes this. using those apps also seems to help crashing if i alt-tab.

And then, even on the few games that do work, most of them don't scale text so all the text is for ants and it hurts my eyes even trying to read it.

Sometimes I can get all the above working, and it's very playable. Sometimes I don't even get to play the game and give up. It's incredibly frustrating, I hate having to spend 60 minutes trying to get a game running (i'm a dad, that burns my entire gaming time for the day).

I realize this is because so few setups run 3200x1800 now, but I was hoping for an easy fix. I suppose switching to a different resolution before i boot a game might help, but that makes alt-tabbing out to my system incredibly obnoxious.

Basically, it's 2015. Why isn't this sort of thing solved yet? Or is it? Why is wanting my desktop in native res and my game in the game's native res such a deal breaker/headache?

You might check out Bloons TD5

The Sanctum series is also great - I can easily recommend Sanctum, Sanctum 2, and Super Sanctum TD (a 16 bit demake but still really solid).

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten is also highly recommended. The graphics take some getting used to, but the gameplay is tight.

Finally, I somewhat reluctantly recommend OTTTD (Over The Top Tower Defense). The game is great but also features some weird design decisions taken straight out of a mobile game.

Ah, I've heard of Sanctum but always avoided it because it seemed like an action TD and at the time i wasn't into those. Will see if i can find it on the cheap like you said... too expensive full price. The demake version looks solid too.

wishlisted bloons.

I loved Defender's Quest, bought that full price on release after playing an early version.

I can't speak too much for it on my own but my sister pretty much only plays TD games and loves Gemcraft. I believe it's based on the original flash version but with new levels and improvements. She called me up so I could setup a Steam account for her so she could play it so I assume it's pretty good.

pretty sure I played that on ios back when i had an ipad. was solid.

Sentinel is a good tower defense with a minimalistic style. http://store.steampowered.com/app/293200/

Definitely played at least one of these and liked it; own the first and third... not sure which I played but I'll revisit the franchise.

For personality there are a few TD games that come to mind. Some have some hybrid gameplay elements but all are good fun. Try Orcs Must Die 1+2, Sang-Froid, Toy Soilders, War in a Box: Paper Tanks and maybe Unstoppable Gorg.

Didn't like UG. But I already own Sang-Froid so will check that out. The others i wishlisted, thanks!

Deathtrap is worth looking into. Has some RPG upgrades, death machines, blood spatter, and personality. It's $20
It has lots of graphics options and display settings.

Too poor for $20 right now, but will definitely keep an eye on it.

Playing poker and sweeping like a boss. Made a guy fold a pair to my nothing

Which poker game?

100%-ed TransPlan, quite nice little physics puzzle game, not long too, took me only 2 hours. With this I'm 10 games away from evasive 52.

As for Tower Defence games, I vouch for Prime World: Defenders. Not only it looks great, it's interesting and challenging.

So I somehow accidentally nuked my C: Drive (SSD). Steam was installed there but all of my actual game installs are on other HDDs that weren't touched. I reformated the C drive and am back up. Is there a simple way to point Steam at the game installs on other drives and get it to recognize them all in one go?

Prime World Defenders is pretty good, but the last two achievements are insanely grindy. Build 10,000 towers, win 500 games, but by the time you 100% everything else you'll only have like 1,000 towers and 100 games.

I wanted to like this game, and in fact did, till it's grindy upgrade nature kicked in. As soon as I found myself re-playing levels over and over just to grind exp (or whatever meta-resource it was) I quit.

After Everyday genius, nothing looks grindy to me, that games last achievements demand lifetime of playing. I have about 50 hours in that game, I'm at 1/10th to the last achievement, if not less, probable less, more like 1/20 if I remember correctly.

edited: talking about unfair achievements, Dead Hungry Diner would be a nice game, if its last achievement didn't require to play through story mode something like 10 times. Who plays a game 10 times?
Well, I've played several games this many and more times, but these were much much better games.
