Spec Ops is very much a fun game when played on easy/normal.
Still the best survival horror I've ever played, just not as frustrating as it is on fubar.

I sometimes wonder if my experience with it would of been different if I hadn't played the whole game on hard difficulty. But I found the gunplay to not be bad, but something about the way the AI is programmed and thrown at you in large numbers usually, on-top of the limited enemy variety and kind of linear and almost scripted ways the combat rolls out a lot of the time (shoot glass with sand to auto-kill enemies, I wonder if the game wants me to use the turret in this section with a larger number of enemies in it that conveniently has a turret in it, there's enemies with rockets and cover that makes a pathway to those enemies with rockets I wonder what it wants me to do; To be fair, not all combat scenarios were like that, but a lot of them were.) to become sort of a tedium, but then I would also say I wasn't really having that much fun with the combat from the beginning. I think the combat doesn't really feel satisfying, or particularly strategic outside of the obvious.

"Devolver Digital games purchased on @G2A_com are not legitimate, not guaranteed, and not supported. We are actively canceling those keys"

https://twitter.com/devolverdigital/statuses/466577590606520320

I'm not a fan of cdkey resellers but I don't think it's fair to punish the customers like that, I highly doubt G2A would ever give a refund.

More reasons to avoid key resellers I guess.

I can see why they would be very angry. Keys are generally purchased with stolen credit cards, then the company cancels the payment when they realize the fraud.

Can be devastating for indie developers and publishers.

Yeah, the crew of guys I usually play with moved off Borderlands 2 and onto Killing Floor a couple of months ago as the default "Let's just shoot some stuff" game.

borderlands is something i really wanted to like but never really feel motivated to play, I think the checkpoints are pretty far too? I remember the last few times I try, I quit midway through only to start all the way back at an early save point, so it didn't help.

Eh, not really. This situation isn't in some publisher handbook. Indies have to figure this shit out as they go.

Devolver Digital ‏@devolverdigital 1m
@lewiep Good point and poor wording on our part - we would only deactive unused keys that were obtained fraudulently. Will correct.

Devolver Digital ‏@devolverdigital 3m
To clarify, we'd never cancel a game someone purchased - it is not the gamers fault. We aim to cancel unused keys obtained fraudulently.
It is in the "being a decent fucking person" handbook though, and it's not like they don't have 40 years of videogame history to study; they don't have to flail in the dark to progress. Nor was there any point in even squeezing the key cancellation thing in there. Apparently it was clumsily worded and inaccurate, but telling the public about something that's not intended to affect customers is pointless and causes this exact confusion if it's not handled properly.

Any recommendation for some sort of pillow to support for my mouse hand in the forearm\elbow area? Needs to be small enough and be flat enough that its comfy but doesn't raise my arm up. Where can you find stuff like that anyhow?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Yep.
Every time I set it public, I get beggars and scammers in 10 seconds flat.

At least your issue isn't isolated, seems to be affecting anyone with a public profile.

Hopefully Valve will get it ironed out soon.

I didn't know key resellers have existed for 40 years.

Look, it's their social media account. Responses are often quick and not perfectly worded PR. It's an awkward situation as this is basically the equivalent of having to honor the warranty on some speakers bought out of the back of a car.

Is it only for newly created accounts?
No, it's for every GMG account including newly created and existing ones.
It looks like they changed the rule

Speaking of, I found a useful application that lets you map a keyboard key to the guide button on your 360 controller. Now I can map the screenshot key to my guide button without using BPM, pretty nice.

I don't understand why this application will never work with afterburner's shortcut for me, it works for steam's screenshot and works overall, but afterburner overlay doesn't detect the button press for whatever reason, sigh.

I guess most publishers pay them a lot to promote their games with the rewards program. There couldn't be any other way to bring attention to this Rush Bros turd for example

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
Strike Suit Zero is interesting, in the reactions it provokes. "This is awesome." "This is frustrating." "Who the hell thought this was a good idea?" "This is still pretty awesome."

An uneven game, brimming with potential and fraught with design flaws. So, you know, like every other game out there that doesn't completely suck but also isn't gushingly perfect.

Just as a semi spoilery example; Who thinks to themselves, as a mission designer, "Yeah, you know, the whole game is basically about space combat but what if we have the whole last mission be a ten minute long timed obstacle course in a too dark tunnel, just to give us enough time for some whole-plot-of-the-game-exposition?"

How does that survive playtesting? Is what I played actually an improvement on their first concept? Probably safest to assume that like most other games, they figure it's the least played level the whole game and concentrate on polishing everything else. But still. How do some ideas get so far?

Almost every mission felt like it could have been improved by being split in half, or maybe just giving you a way to re-arm and repair without dying and restarting a checkpoint. There were scripted sequences where that happened, but I don't think you could trigger them yourself. It also felt like a pacing issue, where the lulls in the action just aren't placed well or often enough.

I also don't think I've ever really enjoyed a "protect the capital ship from these slow moving torpedoes" gimmick in all the space fighters I've ever flown. What a challenge it must be to put together a space sim without dipping into the escort mission well.

Um. One thumb up, would recommend if you're jonesing for some simple swarm missiles in space action.

Dark Souls log.

My adventure through Anor Londo continues. I decided to follow my fellow undead MMBosstones86's advices. I marched valiantly towards the archers and at last second I rolled under the arrows. I rammed the bastard and fought an epic battle on the ledge of Anor Londo Palace. There will be songs written about this battle. At last second, a kick hurled my enemy to the void. We crossed eyes one last second after the Silver Knight spelled a silent curse towards me.
D7F10898B1B99E07DC04260770A6F6CFB8C1ECE2

Can you see me from down there? bitch

Carefully I advanced expecting all kind of horrors and Silver Knights and albino demons. But nothing was on sight. I jumped to a balcony. Axe in hand ready for the worse as I crossed a fog door. There was no boss. Instead I found myself on a corridor. Being a left handed man, I naturally went to the left first. Waiting to be ambushed, only to find my buddy Solaire beside a bonfire!

58AE2E4A91E3D46935B8D9E76D3696C7151F02C1

Mmm... this is getting awkward.

I thanked the dark soul and rested there. I explored the insides of the palace and found a little infestation of Silver Knights. I made my way through a lot of rooms and my natural curiosity got me to find a secret (and very dark room) filled with treasures. The first treasure I tried, got a nice bite out of me as it transformed into a nasty monster. I killed it. With doubt opened the rest and found a Dragon Tooth and someone's armor.
I gave it no more thought and left.

I moved forward killing knights until I found myself on a large balcony, there I decided to try my new armor.

EF2EB9BAA93F9ADB8F07D7A11DD6DBA6DFCC4B08

Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

Holeee crap!!! this armor is amazing!!! It surpasses everything I have. I remember this, it was used by the tough guy under the tower on Undeadburg. And I'm wearing his ring! While the weapon (is that a Dragon Tooth???) is very heavy for me to use properly, I can wear the armor with my heavy axe and still be able to run and jump. Maybe not as fast as before, but still quick enough for me to evade attacks.

I dubbed this set as "Godzilla Armor".

DA8E1C424FC1FB2B365AAE42B1ADEF46D47ED992

We can't pass through that door together.

I'm having a lot of fun killing Silver Knights and seeing their eyes of terror while they see this Godzilla Knight charging them. Made my way back to Solaire's bonfire and decided to stop for the day.

Today I explore further.

My saga of Dark Souls is far from over.

Really spot on analysis. I was glad Playfire convinced me to give the game another shot because it can be fun and pretty at times, but I grew weary of the majority of what you complained about around half way through and decided I had had my fill.

I don't understand why Havel's looks so dull and rusty in DS1, but so shiny and new in DS2, which takes place after DS1.

They fucked up in DS2 is why. The armor is supposed to be made of stone, it even says so in the description. This is the case in DS1, but for some reason in DS2 it's metal.

That is some heavy armor you are wearing, I hope you aren't fat rolling!

I hate fat folling too. but tank builds are totally valid in pve. It's pretty much what I did on my first dark souls play through to learn the ropes.

Then you learn to not get hit.

I think I'm about to go to 75% in my current Dark Souls II build.

Pumping Vit to stay under 50% just isn't viable in NG++ while keeping my health so low. Normal mobs 2 shot me at this point.

EDIT: While keeping my SL160.
