Keep getting an error when I try to get Rush Bros. Says I need to check my information again or w/e after sending my verification links over and over.

Humble From Outer Space bundle
TIER 1: 1$
  • X3 Terran Conflict
TIER 2: BTA
  • Universe Sandbox
TIER 3: 10$
  • Kinetic Void (EA)

So much for Doctor Who. It's rapidly getting to the point that there's no hype any more for anything that isn't completely misleading. I stand corrected.

X3 for a buck is a good deal. Universe Sandbox is cool but unless that average drops a ton isn't worth it, it's way cheaper during steam sales.

WTF? That is pretty goddamned sleazy.

Game looks amazing though.

Edit: Just saw Zeeman's post. I guess it could have taken him by surprise, but it seems strange to me that a dev wouldn't know about Valve's plans to discount a game. Anyone else here know more about how that stuff works?

The cynical explanation is that he's a big fat liar and wanted people to prioritize buying on Humble because he gets a bigger cut.

The non-cynical explanation is that he got offered to be the Daily Deal in the week since.

Something seems off then. Why would the dev flat out lie? Sure he would make a bigger cut with Humble Bundle, but why tarnish their name? Weird...

Adultswim publishes Volgarr on Steam, so they are probably the ones who handle things like this.

Yup, I may have said it in a non-understandable way, but I meant to say that it rarely (once indeed) happens, favouring a more subtle "training off screen", that gives back some funny situations during battles, like: the good guys is losing, BUT WAIT, actually I just learned this new super powerful skill no one else knows about it ahahah", that in basically every other story would be a crappy thing to pull out, instead in One Piece it fits perfectly with the random nonsense atmosphere that permeates everything.
I was spoiled on manga by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which doesn't do this. It makes the fights really interesting when the good guys have to use their heads.

I get that when I try to login... already have an account, so I guess it's only for new accounts.

It's for old accounts, you can contact GMG customer service to get a key. Not Playfire customer service, since they don't actually do anything.

It's almost certainly just miscommunication. It makes no sense for them to try to 'trick' people in such a way, and burn a bunch of people for almost no gain.

The dev posts on GAF by the way.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
That Doctor Who bundle is awesome, definitely buying the $15 tier.

It's a great deal for people (like me) that read on Android - as you can upload the HD PDF files to Google Books and read them with the Google Books app.

I like Metro LL more than 2033, but having just played a level primarily fighting the quadriped mutants it feels like they haven't fixed shit with the combat.

Oh come on Dupy! The children were about to dispense some internet justice and blow something way out of proportion! Then you come in and drop some awesome to distract them.

I'm going through 2033 at the moment and something about the feedback feels off, to the extent I don't quite know when I've put one of them down or if it will still come at me. I think also the default FOV doesn't do that game any favours at all.

Nah, that's not it. I bought the game on release so this doesn't change anything for me. But shit, when you claim one thing and a week later your said claim is false, well then, you look like a dishonest idiot.

Volgarr get. I've been making a lot of impulse sub $5 purchases lately. I've been good during the last couple of steam sales, but I think my now having a proper full time job is making me weak. Help me GAF

Or a sincerely confused individual who was under the impression of one thing while a separate entity was making actions based on another.

No dog in this fight, either. I was the minority that didn't like the game much.

The only thing that keeps my gaming motivation alive are indie games these days. Those big AAA games are mostly just boring me.

Im still looking very forward to the new Wolfenstein due to it's focus on over-the-top shooting.

Welp, looks like I'm reinstalling Rush Bros.

Still kind of iffy on it as a speedrun platformer, but I like the soundtrack, and that plus the Playfire rewards ought to get me through it. I might warm up to the gameplay more once I've spent a little more time with it. (Or not, but at least Playfire's convinced me to give it more of a chance.)

Are you a masochist?

I prefer a keyboard almost for all 2D stuff. I feel the keys are more consistent than the analog sticks or d-pad.

Unless you were referring to the spear throwing, which worked whenever I wanted it to, so I felt no need to change the default controls.

Volgarr is challenging but really fair.

Don't buy a game unless you're going to play it right away. If you're not going to play it right away then don't pull the trigger. It'll be cheap(er) again in the future so hold off and save some bucks.

The only time I've recently made exceptions is if it's a game I've owned on a console before and I want a PC version for archival purposes.

I was spoiled on manga by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which doesn't do this. It makes the fights really interesting when the good guys have to use their heads.

In some ways we could say that One Piece takes a similar approach, but while JoJo goes all "sherlock"-like, OP completely deranges to nonsense funniness adding an insane amount of new random (and mostly not-useful) abilities, like Franky Skywalk (like, building a mid-air staircase that can't support much weight), he used only once (AFAIK) in a kind of inappropriate moment and of course it turned nonsense and funny, but with close to zero effects to the battle.

I never got a chance to give this away last weekend.

DUPY! I love you as much as everyone else, but the one giveaway you post while I'm awake is a game I'm not interested in?
VERY disappointed, like today Humble X Rebundle, even though the original one was such fun here. :D

That Doctor Who bundle is awesome, definitely buying the $15 tier.

I was actually curious about it (even though it features too much Eleventh... :( #teamTennant!!).
Are they good?
And, more importantly, those various series are complete?

Perhaps, and most likely what occurred. But geez, is it so hard to say sorry for the error? Why is it that when devs knowingly messed up, they hate to apologize? Bah, like you, hated the game as well!

My feelings exactly, but thanks for the generosity, Dupy :D

Strike Suit Zero is interesting, in the reactions it provokes. "This is awesome." "This is frustrating." "Who the hell thought this was a good idea?" "This is still pretty awesome."

An uneven game, brimming with potential and fraught with design flaws. So, you know, like every other game out there that doesn't completely suck but also isn't gushingly perfect.

Just as a semi spoilery example; Who thinks to themselves, as a mission designer, "Yeah, you know, the whole game is basically about space combat but what if we have the whole last mission be a ten minute long timed obstacle course in a too dark tunnel, just to give us enough time for some whole-plot-of-the-game-exposition?"

How does that survive playtesting? Is what I played actually an improvement on their first concept? Probably safest to assume that like most other games, they figure it's the least played level the whole game and concentrate on polishing everything else. But still. How do some ideas get so far?

Almost every mission felt like it could have been improved by being split in half, or maybe just giving you a way to re-arm and repair without dying and restarting a checkpoint. There were scripted sequences where that happened, but I don't think you could trigger them yourself. It also felt like a pacing issue, where the lulls in the action just aren't placed well or often enough.

I also don't think I've ever really enjoyed a "protect the capital ship from these slow moving torpedoes" gimmick in all the space fighters I've ever flown. What a challenge it must be to put together a space sim without dipping into the escort mission well.

Um. One thumb up, would recommend if you're jonesing for some simple swarm missiles in space action.
This is a pretty excellent summary on how I feel about the game, and I say that as a fairly big fan of space sims.

I'm with you.

I've got Steam copies of BioShock: Infinite, Dishonored, Tomb Raider, Arkham City and more just sitting there untouched.

On the flip side, I've gotten more pleasure from ETS2, Vicera Cleanup Detail, Farming Sim, Gone Home, and such than I've had in years.

Would've been interesting to see them base the tier amounts on the different Doctors. $6 gets you anything involving the First through Sixth Doctor, $11 includes everything up to the Eleventh, etc.
(The idea's totally unworkable, but it would've been neat regardless.)

I will say that the prospect of a Humble Doctor Who (Game) Bundle prompted me to finally play through the first two episodes of the adventure games last night, as I wanted to get the card drops sold (I expected a price crash with the bundle but of course none of my cards sold anyway). Rather than being Telltale style adventure games with dialogue options, they were mostly really mediocre stealth games. Not sure if that changes in later episodes or not.

Each one only took about an hour, and the writing is okay, and the voice acting is the actual actors, so if you're jonesing for more 11/Amy content, I'd recommend giving them a shot. If you have no interest in Doctor Who, stay far far away.
