ECHO Announced for PC (Steam Greenlight)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY6r7tWXbLA
Ultra Ultra proudly presents ECHO

ECHO is a Third-Person Science Fiction Adventure for PC, build using the Unreal 4 Engine.

The Story

After a century in stasis the girl En arrives at her destination: A Palace out of legend, a marvel of the old civilization eons gone, still awaiting its first human occupants. Out here, using forgotten technologies, she hopes to bring back a life that shouldn’t have been lost. But nothing could have prepared her for what she’ll face in the ancient halls below.

The experience starts as a character driven journey of discovery, but as it unfolds it evolves into something altogether more punishing. Gameplay revolves around Stealth and Action, as you face off against the strange workings of this place. You might be quick on your feet and quite able to defend yourself, but everything has consequences here. Whatever your strategy, one thing is certain: You must keep your wits about you if you are to survive the Palace.

Who is Ultra Ultra?

Ultra Ultra is an independent game studio, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. We started production in March 2015, and consist of a core group of eight people. Most of us hail from IO-Interactive, where we have had the pleasure of contributing to the Hitman-games among others, over the past decade.

The studio was born out of a longing for stranger horizons. –The hardboiled realism of IO is something we greatly appreciate, but our true passion is to create something not of this world. Holding senior positions, it was no easy choice to leave, but in the end we had to make this happen. We are proud of our heritage, and we hope that it will shine through when playing Echo.

From the very beginning of Ultra Ultra we’ve been focused on the incredible opportunity it is to be independent game makers. We are free to make exactly the kind of games we want to play ourselves! Leaving behind the enormous machinery of mainstream AAA - and the astronomical cost that comes with it - we can focus our creativity on a product that is much more personal, and not based on market trends and user-research. We believe that this will be felt in the game, and hope for likeminded players to make this a viable strategy. -We can’t be the only ones who long for science fiction in the tradition of Solaris and 2001, surely?

The biggest issue seems to be that the game doesn't even launch on Windows 10, and it might not work on Windows 8 either. Also some people have had severe performance issues with modern AMD graphics cards. I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 and it worked just fine when I played it a couple years back. The game does use Uplay on the PC even when bought from Steam.

Just so you know I bought Conviction and Blacklist after I checked you can get a refund for them even if they are Uplay games. They both play perfectly, I have Windows 8 and a 970m.

Poor suckers. There is no way to capture the beauty of Arizona north of Flagstaff in a game.

While playing Saints Row the Third I became curious to see how it was received in GAF, searched for the OT and some things caught my attention like some members asking if the PC version could have controller support or if the game has achievements. It's só strange that features we take as norm nowadays weren't implemente in many old PC ports.

Steam's BPM still considers the game as not having controller support.

Funcom has announced a deal which management believes will secure the immediate future of the company, bringing the books back into the black and providing development funds for the continuation of the studio's next game: Conan Exiles.

Alongside a debt management program which has seen the company clear $7.7 million of debts with no cash impact, the developer has also attracted an investment of $6.3 million, bringing the warchest up from $6 million in debt to $4 million in credit.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Devolver game with a store page

This is the one from the ex-Ubisoft devs, right? I like the art style.

The description leaves me wondering though - what kind of game is it? A fighting game? Some kind of MMO?

How detailed is American Truck Simulator? I mean, if I turn off the highway in Modesto, can I go drive by my house?

No. It's more of an approximation of the state. It has some landmarks and you will recognize things here and there but it's a fraction of the size.

Hmh Stellaris 25% off at GMG with the MAY25 code, probably won't be better at summer sale, so might grab it now.

How are you guys liking it now, after you've had some more time with it?
