The last thing I want is to help people.

My tolerance for "Should I buy this now or wait for a better price?", "Is <game> worth it?", etc. is gone. When I see that shit these days, I either give the worst answers I possibly can or just leave the thread period. It's not good enough that there's a wealth of knowledge on the internet, or fuck, even on GAF when it pertains to previous Steam sales and opinions on games. There's absolutely no need to encourage this behaviour by feeding them answers so they don't go look up things for themselves.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime...

Give a man Strider and you feed his anger for eons.

I understand your frustration, but as the "victim" of one of your previous non-answers haha, I have to say that you doing that only shits up the thread just as much, if not more. Just some food for thought, man. No offense intended (I enjoy your posts in general).

IMO, at least those people are asking about games, starting a discussion about games, and potentially introducing people to new games through that discussion (not everyone is going to slavishly follow a 150+ page thread, after all). If nothing else, it's better than the off-topic stuff we've seen in the past.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

Zestiria already outside of the top 10. bomba.

Not really, it has 70+ owners right now and very positive reviews so far, the numbers will only go higher from now.

Hmm..
I wonder how much will this worth in the market? I may consider it as a discount. If I can sell it for about $15 later, I think the full price pre order will be worth it.

I think he's removing steamGAF. Just checked and he removed me too, despite not saying anything lol

Why, Shadownet, why. :(

pre-purchase Fallout 4 get the Mr. Handy thing refund Fallout 4 it worked for me on Final Fantasy Type-0 but I refunded because it was a trash game

Anyone already got the X1 wireless adapter already? Amazon.de is telling me it's not available, shows no price anymore and they haven't shipped.

It was sarcasm Leafy. Why you gotta take the wind of my sails and turn them into fails :'(

How does one turn something into a fail which never was not a fail?

I'm a big dummy sometimes, Veggie. Sorry about that.

i think that was bait

It seems so!

Just bought this fighting stick, the HORI Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai. It's meant to arrive on Saturday, but I doubt I'll use it much for the SFV beta, no time to practice.

If I had the money I would probably get that exact stick or something similar but, I have gotten pretty good on pad over the years. I just wish I could use my PS3 TE-S on my PC. I might just mod it at this point. It would be cheaper than buying a new stick, and I don't NEED a PS4 one.

HALLOWEEN GAMES:

Sticking strictly to Steam for this talk. I will also mention there's definitely a Halloween sale coming up, so while I'll link to the games, if you don't own one I suggest waiting a bit to see if it goes on sale soon.

THERE'S BEEN A SHIT TON OF UNDERLOOKED HORROR GAMES THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. Like, seriously, I can't seem to convince many, but there are some fantastic horror games that have been severely overlooked. I'll limit my talks to games from the last two years, and point out some I would definitely recommend.

HERE WE GO...

Alien: Isolation

The hide'n'seek game with an intelligent Xenomorph enemy. Has some combat and maybe goes on for a bit longer than it needs to, but has some tense cat-and-mouse gameplay set in the detailed-lore world of Alien, and make the sort of horror game in that universe fans of wanted, mixed with some fun twists on similar hide'n'seek horror games, most of all being the Xenomorph being an interesting enemy itself.

Sunless Sea

Set sail to the deep, a Lovecraftian game about you as captain with a crew at sea, a rogue-like where you must manage your crew and explore, and what happens is up to you. Unearth otherworldly horrors, go mad and eat your crew, explore uncharted waters and fish for supplies, and much more. Also has quite a good story to it.

Sunless Sea is a an extremely worthy bullet point in that list, not only for it's Lovecraftian eeriness, but also because it's a fucking amazing game

Also Alien Isolation was my favourite game of last year and another vastly underrated game. Playing it on Hard (the way it is meant to be played) was wonderfully tense, even if the game has some pacing issues

So what's the difference between vanilla New Vegas and Ultimate edition?

This is a drill for when the winter sales start, right?

Okay, I got this.

Dear inexperienced Steam n00b, see this detailed and very informative text you can find right on the store page of the Ultimate Edition:

With the introduction of the Ultimate Edition, Bethesda Softworks offers you the chance to double-down and get the complete package of New Vegas fun. For the first time in one package, you can get all the Fallout: New Vegas content including the full suite of highly acclaimed add-on content: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road. To sweeten the pot, you’ll be armed with the latest cache of unique weapons, ammo types and recipes from the most recent add-on packs: Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer of the Mojave or playing the game for the first time, you’ll find there are more friends and enemies to make, more consequences to your actions and more opportunities to live in glory or infamy throughout the Wasteland. The choices you make will be as crucial to your survival as ever.

Can't think of any big games I'm waiting for a discount on, probably going to spend the Halloween sale buying up the randoms on my wishlist.

Also, for fuck's sake Steam client, stop being a piece of shit. I'm going to start calling you Origin or something.

One of these days... one of these days morningbus is gonna snap and fall into the rabbit-hole of craziness he is dancing around currently.

I think you guys are misunderstanding bus. He's showing us that all that needed to be said, he told it to us already in the past. It is, more or less, evidence that he's our real Steam Messiah, not that other fake one.

It's been more or less all day that the Steam client has treated me as if I wasn't logged in. It's getting bothersome.

OH GOD WHYYYY
is claire actually a game worth playing through to the end?

i played it for a bit and yea it's spooky but is there something to it other than that?

cos i feel like the games it's inspired in are really good at making it worth your while to go through all the tedium of locked door and map checking shenanigans, but this one with its wonky controller support and really confusing 2d map turned me off pretty quick

The walking animation of Sorey in Zesty is one of the worst ones I've ever seen in a game. Can't believe someone looked at it and said "that will do".

Really enjoying my time with the game so far though.

Btw is the deal nearing Winter sales is mostly like this though? seem like holding bigger cut etc, notice this recently.

Another drill, right?

I got this one too.

You're asking.... hmm.... deal, nearing, cut, recently.... wait a second.... deals getting nearer, no.... worse the nearer we come to the big cut, no.... sales? Honk if that's it. And no, the discounts have been getting worse in general, for example see the Fallout ones, we were much lower a good while ago.

I am seeing a disturbing lack of Rebel Galaxy in my activity feed. Here's some impressions from my first few hours of the game:

In the first few hours of Rebel Galaxy I have space trucked across a system full of space stations, space merchants, space militia, and space pirates. I have traded in commodities, mined, wasted and been wasted by pirate bastards. I have followed the news to get the jump on cheap goods, bought low and sold high. The ship I started in was a flimsy paper target with a bulls eye on its back. I have since upgraded the hull, shields, deflector, weapons systems, and cargo hold. I am currently saving up for a bigger more dangerous ship and the upgrades I have installed will transfer over to the new one.
Combat takes place on a horizontal plane with combat similar to Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Utilizing broadsides and turrets to take out major ships and small fighters is a blast. You can change your combat style depending on what weapons you install on your ship from blasting fools at a distance or getting up close and hitting them hard. You can even ram other ships with the proper equipment installed.
This is the game I was hoping for when that travesty of game X Rebirth launched. The soundtrack is a bluesy twangy slide guitar rock fest. Don't like that? No problem, when you launch the game it has support for your own custom soundtrack. I'm getting a Firefly vibe from the music and presentation and I quite like it. Bottom line: it's a fun arcadey and easily accessible spacer. You should have it on your wishlist at the least and if you like the genre you should absolutely purchase it. Or you can try to win this copy! Good luck Steam Bros.

Lazy man's repost. Follow the quote to find your reward, your eternal reward

Mine was doing that too, so I finally gave up and just logged in using the window on the front page and it seems to have stuck.

You will get 25% dailies and you will like it.
