That's interesting when I game I would say 90% is for SP which includes the story.
I didn't feel much when it came to W:TNO story. The highlight was at the mental hospital and then I felt it never reached that again.

My GOTY is Ground Zeroes, best 4 minutes I had this year:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz_fYjXL7rA

Bought it on 2 systems.
Really didn't feel it. Since I guess it was all about the gameplay and i've always been story over that in MGS.
That and with all the improvements it still feels "behind' with it's controls. Kojima should have just ripped off
Splinter Cell Blacklist if he was going the open world route.

Anyone checking livestreams of the GTA San Andreas "remaster" (= mobile game port) on X360?

For example http://www.twitch.tv/ltzonda
I think the lightning is definitely better. Just check the shadows, and the street lights at night.

I don't remember the game looking like this on PC.
The PC version was more static lightning (and if I read that correct, the PS2 version had better ambient light.)

Edit: seems right:

Current PC version

Or you can just say to yourself, "I already bought enough games for this month, let me finish some of them before spending more money."

Like anyone says that.

I'm just glad they my status as a poor college student prevents me from overindulging and adding to my rather large library of untouched games. And yet I still play League instead of working on that back catalog.

People who are looking for a Bullet Hell SHMUP with a new gimmick should really try REVOLVER 360.

It's got a great presentation, with great visuals, a decent soundtrack, and a unique revolving mechanic that allows you to place bullets for maximum points or to help you get out of an impossible situation. The live update for where you place on the leader boards really adds to making the player want to better their skills at destroying the most bullets as possible to increase the score multiplier. I really can't believe the game hasn't gotten any buzz. For this year's releases: Hangeki, Danmaku, Ikaruga, Crimson Clover, Astebreed, and this game should be in every SHMUP fan's library.

I had to see the videos to understand what the revolve mechanic is like, and I am sold. That looks pretty amazing.

My GOTY would probably be Sakura Spirit... Not rely. Butt it seemed on me that that's the only game in my Steam library from this year. I actually can't think of any new games I've played this year, which I can't say I'm proud of. I've played some games from 13 and 12 and other years, mostly League, but nothing really this year. I'll probably get Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and say that's my GOTY unless something from the Winter sale wows me.

The amount of backlog stuff does interfere a lot when it comes into making a list.
Man I loved this game! wait that was released 2 years ago. Have had that happened too often.

Jaw, why did you even buy Dark Souls 2 on PS3 in the first place?

While I was deployed I was actually going to buy DS2 on steam.
I had forgotten that I had the PS3 version on preorder along with the strategy guide on amazon. I could have sworn that I cancelled the game. Guess I didn't and I didn't want to pay another high price on it at the time. Since then I have been waiting to use my Steam Credit on it or a deal on the PC collectors.

Yah, especially because steam sales make you get so many new games, even when you don't spend a lot of money, you forget that some are kind of old. And when they're games where graphical fidelity isn't the biggest thing, you can forget that you're playing something from like 2009 even.

Oh, now that I look at it, Drunken Robot Pornography came out this year. For some reason I thought it was older. That's probably my game GOTY unless something comes up that blows me away.

Games like this need a demo.

Agreed, I'd like to know if I'd enjoy the mechanic. It looks interesting, though.

I've actually gotten even fewer new releases this year than I thought I had... my game of the year currently would end up being Card City Nights bizarrely enough. Almost everything else I've played and loved this year actually came out last year. Either that or Pinball FX2 DLC. I'm sure by the time voting actually comes it will be Binding of Isaac: Rebirth though.

I almost feel like we need a special "Steam Sale" game of the year category, since so many of us get introduced to games later that way.

It seems pretty damn cool. the mechanic is kinda confusing at first because you don't just rotate the opponents while the background stays in place, you actually rotate and the whole perspective on the level changes, including stage hazards and enemies that come at you from off-screen. But then again, I'm also just completely rubbish at shmups. :lol

I think it's one of the more inventive and unique shmup mechanics I've seen, it reminded me of Ikaruga in the way it completely changes the way you play the game.

dam it MS , release the wireless driver already
please please please , we don't want a separate device for that

Sexy, I already got the white-orange-black Titanfall and the original black one. I hope the pure white design will be on sale seperately sometime.

Driver? We need a special receiver, the old one will never work.

And I think the (my) Titanfall controller looks much better than that one.

How much improvement over the 360 controller is it anyway? Is the Dpad any better?

I personally feels its a step back.
Though I know i'm in the minority.
Dpad is a better though. Still wouldn't be something I would say is better than a PS3 or PS4 pad though dpad wise.

Finished The Longest Journey. There's been plenty said about how obtuse the puzzles are, but even I was surprised at just how bad they were. The rubber ducky/clamp/key puzzle was the worst offender, and there are plenty of others that are almost as wtf. I had a walkthrough open on my other monitor the whole time, so when it came to the puzzles, I could just say, "Oh, you" and keep on playing, but back in the day, I would've been tearing my hair out.

The story was ultimately a bit more pedestrian than I expected given the game's reputation. It was mired in fantasy tropes just as much as it poked fun at them, and I think the game perhaps spent a bit too much time in Arcadia in the middle stretch. The ending was also a bit too neat for my tastes; then again, I guess Dreamfall more than made up for that, eh?

I loved playing as April though. She's likeable from the opening moments of the game, and I grew more and more attached to her as the game went on.Given the length of the game, probably 15+ hours, I really did feel like we went on a long, long journey together. I can't wait to see what they did with her character in Dreamfall - hopefully she's been treated well.

Massive respect for Rhaknar for his 24 hour marathon streaming, well done for the very first marathon (I believe?). ;)

In other news, today I realized how great it is for me going 99% Digital on Steam. I spent most of the afternoon cleaning my space, getting rid of useless plastic cases I had around, and putting some of the CD's in those small things with a ziiper that can hold around 50 of them. I did this for both PC games and also some old DVD movies. Separated plastic from paper and it went straight to the recycle bins. More space, less pointless clutter and always keeping on improving a nice and clean minimalist space. Love all things clean and organized! Feels good. Shame console game prices are higher in digital form, but buying from other countries can be a bit cheaper but I never done that.

Wow, that's your own footage? Impressive speed run!

Actually, I should probably try to speed run something again. I'm usually terrible at it, but it's still fun.

I'm in the same boat. I feel like I haven't even played ten games released in 2014 that I would consider to be good enough to be on a goty list. And it's not because those kind of quality games are out there, it's just that I've been playing games that were released years ago :/
