I'm half expecting your monitor to have a bezel made out a cereal box to keep the thing together. I've got a 21" 1680x1050 monitor that's only been used twice sat in a box here for about 8 years you could have (pay for the astronomical shipping of course).

I'd probably work out cheaper for me to buy a replacement locally. I'd planned on holding off on upgrading until Skylake, but since I now can't SLI without buying a new motherboard and LGA 1155 has long been EOL, I might bring it forward to February/March as opposed to hunting down a remotely decent, SLI-friendly 1155 motherboard. I don't need to worry about a new case, PSU or GPU, so a Haswell-E upgrade would "only" set me back around $1100 (including a new CPU cooler as I hate how massive the NH-D14 is), which would leave me around $250 for a monitor*.

* Who am I kidding? I'd buy games to celebrate.

Oh seeing as you're here and I missed you in my quote pile yesterday, first congrats on finishing FFXIII and it might be because you were running the game at a resolution of 3840x2160 as to why it was playing in slow motion with GeDoSaTo! There's still a few littel quirks with the game asides from the biggies of not being able to adjust the settings that are rubbing me up the wrong way. Screenshots like you mentioned don't work with the Steam Overlay but either GeDoSaTo or Afterburner do (didn't try the old Print Screen trick but that should do as well). Even without using a crazy resolution or using me graphics card to the fullest the game switches between 30 and 60 frame per second due to some baffling goings on. Fingers crossed something gets sorted in the near future or at least for FFXIII-2 and Lightening Returns (Well I've made a commitment now to buy them all when they come out).

Viewing angles are great but there's still the uniformity issues and off centre contrast shift you get with VA panels but for just watching video and gaming it's not even an issue. Benq do some really good cheap VA panels too in a variety of panel sizes and resolutions. Granted a monitor seems to be pretty low on your list of priorities

That might have been it, definitely going to try that again if I'm having problems with FFXIII-2 as well. It's really a shame that they didn't put a bit more work into it.

No, I don't want you dead, but it doesn't feel like that much of a chore to me, I prefer it to ironing clothes or sweeping the floor.

Also if you do it regularly it's much faster, it takes longer when there's more dirt than keyboard.

Black Flag and Watch_Dogs codes were floating around eBay and the B/S/T thread for as little as $20 so might be worth a look in.

Destiny really is the new Borderlands. A game that roundly gets critised but has a high attach rate for additional content and long play times.

That and they were really hard to clean as they were riveted together so you couldn't take them apart. All it took was one sandwich and a packet of crisps and they were tainted forever.

Slowly but surely I've got to chapter 6 after about 14 hours. At this rate I should hopefully finish it by the time XIII-2 is out. Though I do think I might have messed up on one of the achievements (the holder every item one) as I've missed a few item pods. Luckily I've kept a save at every save point I've seen so far, 48 of them!

I always listen to audiobooks when I need to take my mind of boredom around me, nothing else works for me.
The problem with this setup: there are not enough good audiobooks, that's why I'm still bored most of the time. I only can do chores while listening to the good book too.

you can downsample most games, unless DSR does something special besides just downsampling. I played Styx at 1800p -> 1080p with no DSR

You can downsample just about any game by clicking the wrench icon in GeForce Experience (custom settings) and then change the resolution ;>... DSR'ing the shit out of everything is glorious. It really is.

Just tried this. The scaling was atrocious and it made my mouse cursor like 10x bigger. Really weird and somewhat funny stuff. It's too bad you can't just apply this to any game.

See the above - It should fix the scaling issues for most stuff. Although the Steam Overlay is still atrociously scaled, hope there's a fix in the pipeline for it.

I legitimately doubt we'd have DSR without him. And if not for our favourite Blurbuster, we'd probably not have ULMB functionality in G-Sync modules and other types of native Lightboost technology from vendors. Go underdogs!

Where do I find that downsampling thingy on GeForce Experience? Got a 770 here, clean install but don't see it.

As mentioned above, you can simply use the custom settings option (the wrench icon next to optimise / revert) and choose a downsampling resolution from there.
