October is Evil Within month for SteamGAF.
So the OT will be related to that.
If SteamGAF was cool they would spin a evil within / Dino crisis title since Mikami made both and it's the closest ill ever get to a DC title.

*sad face*
I'm still on the fence about the Evil Within. I don't think I ever play a Mikami game before.

Coming out of nowhere.
Still no date or steam page.

I know right? Very weird. I suppose they could be waiting for the next season to start before putting it up on Steam, or Activision are just being efficient and losing the license to games before they even get released now.

System requirements for Binding of Isaac Rebirth Soundtrack

Alright time for the pedantic hat to come on. Unless it's coming in .wav or midi format I seriously doubt it will play on Windows 3.1 (are there even a archived copies of WinPlay or legacy versions of WinAmp around?). Speaking of the ancient horror, last PC I had with that straddled over DOS only had a 20mb hard drive so 500mb would be a tad too big. Well that's me off to a cheery start this morning.

Guys, this LOTR game is legit entertaining. I'm slow mo hacking dudes, there's a sweet skilll tree, and the loot makes looking through every nook and cranny worth it. Whenever you get a chance, get it. Don't pass it up.
War in the North
is a fun treat, and
the coop
really makes it all the more better.

I liked War in the North. I did like that you could swap to any of the 3 characters and not lose story progress either. That Dwarf's special with his hammer when leveled up could oneshot a troll easy.

Guys.

Help me win a bet with another GAF.

Does a pre-announced Season Pass count as pre-order or after launch DLC?

Your answer could save me $10.

Is the.content of said season pass available at the time of purchase? If not you're preordering content, simples! No arguing over semantics is going to change that fact.

Also another GAF? Is this an alternate dimension were talking about, a splinter forum perhaps or another GAFfer maybe :p

What could possibly make a game that demanding?

Maldo was talking about Shadows of Mordor having a 6gb requirement for ultra textures possibly more to do with they are the top line base assets that haven't been adjusted for different LODs at all so are maximum quality. If there's anyone in the history of anything to listen to when it's about texturing it's Maldo.

Yeah The Evil Within is something I'm going to judge when it's out and not from some puff piece review, Mordor has got everyone whipped up into a frenzy there are bound to be some disappointed souls in there and Ass Creed got pushed back until November. October for a fair few of SteamGAF is all about Civ Beyond Earth. I've got my brief diversion with Ryse at the start of the month before falling down that hole that is Civ, again!

Looks like Necrodancer will be today's daily, unless this is an unrelated promotion

CPir8Ka.png

It's a great game, prime example for Early Access done right (game is fully playable and feels finished already) and they're adding new content all the time. $10 is a great price for it.

Looks like you forgot about Alien: Isolation. Either that or you have, like me, decided it seems unappealing after further review of gameplay footage. Man I gotta find someone to trade with for Mordor or Ryse or something.

Game 90 of the year done.
God, I've played some bad games this year (Richard & Alice, Broken Sword 4, Dominique Pamplemousse), but this one just takes the cake.

Terrible on all accounts, art is laughable, voice overs terrible (seriously, I've watched some porn with better actors than the guys used here), plot nonsensical and machine translated from Spanish, puzzles that break every commandment for good design.
Only saving grace this game has is that is over rather quickly - 45 minutes for the first episode, an hour for the second. But then it has the gall to ask you to finish the game for the second time for last achievement. And no, nothing changes with your second playthrough, there's no hidden ending, dev commentary or anything like this.

This has got to be the Bad Rats of Steam Adventure games... Seriously, what is it with South America game developers that makes them put out crap like this? Avoid at all cost

The next OT should be Kicking Ass and Tolkien Names.

In honor of Shadow of Mordor. (Saw it on the IGN review)

I am OK with this.
Also my idiot brother has no interest in Evil Within because it is not called Resident Evil.
I will continue to pester him to get the PS3 ver. since he don't game on PC.
I also don't like horror games that much but wish the best for this game.

Wait.. I can guess this.. Wait.. Is it a MGR:R reference? Because Platinum.

I like it.

Damn forgot Korra's releasing on Steam in October too! DIS MONTH BE PACKED WITH GAMES YO!

I feel bad, I haven't even started V yet. My backlog has a lot of short games that I've been trying to play through before I get to that one. On top of that, this October is packed with horror games and that is my favorite genre.

Hahaha probably a combination of both. That and I see it as a Creative Assembly game other than Total War which their other two ventures, Spartan Total Warrior and Viking have a mixed reception and that's putting it likely. Actually I didn't mind Spartan too much but it got a tad reparative by the end. Plus churning out 5 versions and being cross gen could be biting off a tad more than they can chew if there are any troubles come release.

October is packed full stop. Outside of what I mentioned above I also didn't include FFXIII because I think the world has had enough of that game already (despite half of us here buying it again!) and Bayonetta 2 even though we all know this is really the WiiU OT. That little lot and my above couple of mentions fills my October out nicely and there's still shit loads more for everyone else with different interests.

I'm looking forward to Ryse (a dumb action game hits the spot every now and then) and Styx (simply because it reminds me of AssCreed).

Ryse I think you can finish quickly, but thanks for reminding me of Styx @_@

Moredoors will have to wait until I move up to a 970. I'm also doubtful that Ryse will use 2GB VRAM or less when running at max settings, even at 1680x1050, but time will tell on that front.

I had originally expected that game to fill the void that Thi4f obviously did not. Since I haven't been keeping up I did not know that it was AssCreed-like.

Does she shoot the grenade in midair?... Why not just send her in on her own.

Is Styx the goblin's creed looking game? If so, I added that to my wishlist immediately after seeing the trailer. Really interesting looking for an out-of-nowhere game (for me)

Ryse is about 6 hours long on normal.
MP can be pretty fun though if you grab a buddy and the story itself is good for what it is. Especially since it doesn't follow a specific cliche. It was worth my 25 with no DLC attached when I got it on Xbone.

Some have said it's more Hitman than AssCreed, but I've never played a Hitman game, so I don't see it.

MGS V is looking more like the Snake Eater sequel I wanted with every new bit of footage. Sorry Portable Ops and Peace Walker you had some charm (and whacky creepiness too) but you always felt restrained by your platforms. Just needs a silly camouflage system, food come survival mechanic and a huge arse ladder and I'd be smitten. I'm going to Fulton everything on site when I get my hands on it.

I wonder when Ground Zeroes will drop on Steam? Be nice if it ends up being a second Metal Gear Winter Seal first day promo.

I definitely think that will be the case. We'll get GZ by the end or early next year and same date for V as consoles.

Morning SteamGAF.

So, did anyone else have to re-download the entire Ethan Carter game after they pushed an update tonight? Quite pissed right now, since I almost finished the download yesterday on my slow connection and was looking forward to play through it today. Now I have to sit through almost the entire thing again >_<'

If it's not just me, devs should probably learn how to setup an efficient way of patching their game. Waste of volume for those on a capped connection, annoying for those on slow connections.

I'm still waiting too, I stopped my Xbone playthrough for it.

Story is all I want from MGSV I haven't had a good MG story since MGS3. It's been too long.

I'm still waiting too, I stopped my Xbone playthrough for it.

Are you waiting for the better performance?
Because MGSVs only issue on X1 is the not 1080p output. Unless thats a huge factor I would say if you already have it you should play it. Unless mods and such are a big factor as well.

Seems you haven't bought this game? It's still available at dlgamer, just a heads up.

Yeah, I bought a copy ~a couple of hours ago and am waiting for somebody to wake up and process my order, haha. Thanks all the same, though. :)

So a few of us who read this thread have a regular CS:GO group going (with one non-gaffer) and we're looking for a fifth who is up for playing regularly. Maybe even someone who we've played with before, just more often?

We're all kind of floating around the same skill level and we're looking to try to put some effort into getting better.

A bunch of the regulars from a couple months back have fallen off and playing with someone different in the fifth slot every game isn't as fun. :)

I assume you're talking about someone around your skill and rank level and playing from US timezones? :p

So I tried to pre-ordere Final Fantasy XIII and kept getting this error when checking out:
An error was encountered while processing your request:

There was an error trying to load your shopping cart. Please try again later.
Anyone encounters the same problem?

Edit: nvm, I relogged and it worked.

Yeah, that looks really good. Just looked it up and it's a prequel to another Cyanide developed orc game. Seems rare to see games star nonhuman playable characters, though I may just be looking in the wrong places.

V does look like a less constrained MGS3, and considering how non-linear 3 managed to feel, I'm really looking forward to The Phantom Pain. Everything shown so far looks great, though I'm still worried about some of the controls after playing Ground Zeroes, particularly lack of leaning/fine-tuning aiming around geometry and rolling. MGS3's controls allowed for a lot of actions and they all managed to have very reliable inputs. Rolling in GZ was not intuitive, and a few other non-game-breaking, yet noticeably problematic inputs got in the way of a good game. No matter what, I'm on board though.
