Copying just the key is fine. I managed to snag copies of Psychonauts, Oblivion and Saints Row 3 that way.

I loved the first one.

I haven't played much of OMD2 alone so can't compare but there's no reason you won't like it, everything is better than in 1. More maps, more traps, better upgrade system etc.

If you like the games, go for it
Its the worst in the series IMHO, but even I spent 30+ hours on it.
It has its flaws, but still a good game

Nah I'll be fine without it I think. If I want to play some TW I will boot up a legendary Shogun 2, but even still I think with me buying Brave New World, Endless Space and Sins of a Solar Empire (when it goes on sale) I will be fine.

I'm spoiled rotten by modern day graphics, I tried to replay one of my favorite games of all time (deus ex) not long ago and couldn't even do that because of the appearance.

Even Deus Ex has graphics mods - google for "DxEnhanced" and "NewVision". Now that's a proper PC game.
