Well i cant speak for everyone but i get a LOT more enjoyment out of a game when i have purchased it legitimatly just feels so much more satisfying and you get the benefits of the achievents system and proper support and all the rest of it....

And i speak from experiance cause i use to obtain MANY games in a less than honorable manor..... >.<

It was around $13 if you bought it during the beta. It only got more expensive as time went on.

I'm biased because I didn't actually pay the full $27 for Minecraft, but it certainly feels like I've gotten more than $27 worth of fun out of it. It's crazy by Steam sale prices, I guess, but it's something that I'll end up going back to again and again for years despite how much time I've already put into it.

You can't. I just got the 15 votes one when the 17 community vote went up. That's how I found out. And if you go to the Steam forums and search for "Badges", you will see a thread where there are others missing 2 votes (or thereabout).

IMO minecraft is definatly a big step in game development.. in a sense, i think the development potential with this title is HUGE, and it could be the base of the game to end all games in it's infacy..... I dont see why the big companies arent already jumping on it.....

I used to play Magic competitively and was pretty disappointed in the first Duel of the Planeswalkers game. Partially because I'm still not over combat damage not going on the stack anymore.

Everyone is in love with 2013, but I have a feeling there's an inflection point where if you're really into Magic, these games are underwhelming. Seems like it's good for people who want to get into the game, want to get back into the game, or people who only ever played casually with friends. It doesn't strike me as a hardcore product. That being said, if it goes on sale, I'll probably give it a shot. I put about eight hours into the first one without even realizing it.

They were clearly the minority. Unless you count people saying it's not a game as people against it. It's not a game. It's an interactive story. But a beautiful and atmospheric one that's well worth 2.50 unless you're really poor and need major bang for the buck or you're DudeBro 100 percent of the time.

Is your card Overclocked at all? Even a stock OC?

Oh shit son. Are you overclocking? That only started happening with the new drivers?
It's usually a sign that the videocard is dying. Try rolling back the drivers.


My video card (570 GTX, bought 1 year ago, no warranty because i bought it off Ebay) started crapping out on 3d Graphics (complete computer lock and 2D corruption when restarted, but if I let it cool down for 10 minutes, 2d graphics come back). I'll have to buy a new one.

And they fucking changed the company policy. Anything bought after July '11 has 3 year warranty no matter what. Since I bought mine back in April (and also has a manufacture date before July '11), i'm screwed. No warranty.

Increase fan speeds if your OC.

Because people like me (and 6 million others) have spent literally thousands of hours exploring one of the best open world games ever created. Now obviously it isn't your kind of game, but that doesn't make it a bad game

I never said by any means it's bad or a horrible game that should die in a fire. Just that the price cannot be justified and the game itself is not as special as everyone is making it to be.

Especially when there are games out there that are literally 20 times better than Minecraft, in terms of overall experience (story, characters, mechanics, gameplay, etc...).

How much was Alan Wake when it was on sale? I can't believe I missed that... anyone know if the sale was going on before I started with Steam?

I only played it for two hours but I think it's kinda fun. It's not like your traditional ARPG but more like managing your personal item shop with a light ARPG element. The game keeps combat mechanics really simple (you mostly don't need more than two buttons) but it's really fun to sell and buy stuff, decorate your shop and haggle with your customers.

I think it's a nice idea and well worth the relatively low asking price.

If I'm a snob about older 3D games, can I still enjoy any of the Thief games?

Thinking about Deadly Shadows, unless the other two are recommended as well (instead?).

Also, Recettear is awesome! It's kind of like Diablo III in a roundabout way.

All other games run fine. I'm not overclocking. According to research it might be a texture streaming issue?

I wouldnt go warrying about the card being dead yet, First thing i would do is test a Game that similarly graphiclly ddemading and c if that works..... if it does its most likely something to do with the setting's on ur pc in the nvidia Panel.... make sure its all set to use the games setting no overrides and ect, Also if ur Card is overclocked at all even a stock overlock try underclocking it to the stock clocks, And then after that i think reinstalling drivers and ect just as a check.....

I bought the Casino Nights dlc for Sonic Generations for half a dollar assuming it was a new level since the title doesnt state otherwise

Crysis has issues. I used to have a problem where the game would crash about 20 seconds into the first level. It was some fairly common issue I was able to google and get rid of. But I can't remember what it was it was so long ago.

I think it was 7.50 for the main, 3.75 for the expansion, or 9.99 for both (Sure about the 9.99 for both part).

Oh wow, what kind of backwards logic is this? So i guess in your opinion a game like angry birds should be more expensive because it was codes in obj-C, lol

Btw I do agree with you that it is too expensive, but it has nothing to do with the language it was developed on.
