It's an amazing experience, but you have to know what you're getting into. I finished it a couple hours ago and loved it. Can't wait to play their Amnesia game and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (which will be the "spiritual successor" to Dear Esther).

Just spend another good hour or so with Metro 2033. The game has a bit of a slow start, but man, I just went through the Dead City. The atmosphere in this game is absolutely excellent. Definitely don't regret this purchase.


Also voted for The Darkness II because it's the only game worthwhile between the three.

I wouldnt go warrying about the card being dead yet, First thing i would do is test a Game that similarly graphiclly ddemading and c if that works..... if it does its most likely something to do with the setting's on ur pc in the nvidia Panel.... make sure its all set to use the games setting no overrides and ect, Also if ur Card is overclocked at all even a stock overlock try underclocking it to the stock clocks, And then after that i think reinstalling drivers and ect just as a check.....

Oh sure, I'm testing the shit out of this card before I do anything about it, even trying it on another computer.

But all signs point to it being dead. It just started displaying this symptoms constantly yesterday, but I had some crashes to desktop/computer locking up multiple times before.

Also, when the computer locks up, when I reboot it shows these lines of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the boot-up process, and culminates into Windows locking up in a blue screen with Pink squares between the white letters. Classic fried videocard behaviour.

I'll put it through the paces tomorrow, be sure of it.

Picked up Metro 2033 during the last winter sale and it was all I played for the next 2 weeks. I loved the atmosphere and the feeling of being a survivor, picking up un-cracked gas masks and charging my torch so I don't get lost in the dark. Loved it.

Try googling "Crysis Shadercache". Can't remember where the cache is located off the top of my head right now but deleting it allows the game to rebuild it upon re-launch.

Edit: you want to delete the whole "shaders" folder. For the retail version it's located at: My Documents\My Games\Crysis

Anyway, even if that's not the issue, deleting the shadercache won't have any detrimental effect on the game. Like I said, it'll rebuild it automatically. Be warned, it'll look a little strange at next launch.

To be honest, I only own deadly shadows but haven't played it beyond the first tutorial mission. I'd say the consensus is that the second one is the best of them all, but only buy it if you're not bothered by aged 3d graphics. Deadly shadows is seemingly regarded also as a quality game, and a more recent one in regards to visuals.

ill tell you, i would buy another Card IDENTICAL to the one you have and apon recieving it i would RMA the other one and claim it was the one you recieved i dunno were u got the card from but seriosuly most places hardly even look at the parts never mind check for serial numbers and ect....

You cannot justify the price because it isn't a game you enjoy. I on the other hand have easily got more than my money out of the game. It is my most played game in 20 years of PC gaming. I consider it a damn steal at £27. When this steam sale is over I will have spent close to £100 on games and I will probably end up back in Minecraft spending even more time in the game. The price is justified because it gives those that enjoy it hundreds of hours of entertainment and it is also STILL selling like hotcakes so obviously there is nothing wrong with the price.

Especially when there are games out there that are literally 20 times better than Minecraft, in terms of overall experience (story, characters, mechanics, gameplay, etc...).

There is NO other game with the amount of freedom that Minecraft gives you. There is no other game that gives you the amount of freedom to completely and utterly alter the game world for you and others.

Not even sure why we are talking about Minecraft in a steam topic, but there you go. Probably part of the reason why Minecraft isn't on steam is because it continues to sell in it's millions without Steam. Believe me if Minecraft came to steam it would be a day 1 buy for me straight off.

I'd rather another solution because I'm noticing the new beta drivers (which i don't have) give like a 20% increase to Arkham City on a GTX 670.

Broken Sword: Director's Cut comes with 2 versions
the Original and the Director's Cut.

The start of the Original is my favourite beginning in all of games the Director's Cut messes it up, and for me should be played only after the older version.

Yeah, I'm aware it's infected with SecuROM. But lazy-ass Capcpom has no plans to remove it even though they acknowledge it's onerous and unnecessary. Hoping they'd patch it out was the sole reason I waited this long.
But it's $2.50 (...maybe even less) so if it doesn't work out at all or I only get to play through the game once, no big loss. I've made peace with it. :/

The only list I had before the sale was my wishlist.

I have one of these too, but it's got too many things that are still priced too high (or not available for purchase at all yet) so I had to make a subset.
