Honestly, in my mind vanilla doesn't look that dull.

Having said that, if I had to choose, I'd take stock over the ENB in a heart beat. It's going from one extreme, to an even further extreme.

And I think one of the reasons stock looks so bad is because of the comparison photo. It's like TVs on a floor showroom. Every manufacturers pumps up the brightness and stuff because they know when comparing things, the eyes naturally gravitate to the brightest and most saturated colors. And that it can make properly calibrated sets look dull and lifeness. But get that properly calibrated set alone, and it looks great once you remove the artificial candy competition.

EDIT: Plus I have to wonder if you didn't purposely take a morning/evening shot with the worst possible lighting for that environment. Because I never was annoyed by the game having a dirty look.

The game simply doesn't look very good at a distance to me even when you increase the "grids" to display more detail. The last of post processing makes it feel very plain.

The settings I'm using produce an image more in-line with something like The Witcher 2.

It can still appear like the frozen north, however. That shot was at sunset. During the middle of the day in the snow, the lighting appears quite vibrant and cold.

This kind of scenery looks great to me.

The settings I'm using produce an image more in-line with something like The Witcher 2.

The Skyrim shots do look pretty amazing. But assuming those are super sampled to the moon and back and you either need a monster rig or they're purely meant for screenshots.

GFWL isn't even the issue (though that can be a headache too), but rather that you can only install it so many times before you don't own it anymore. You can deactivate your installation using the revoke tool, but they even put a limit on that. Realistically it would take a long time, if ever, to run out of activations on a singleplayer game like this, but still, if I buy the game I'd like to know I can install it on as many machines as I wish.

It's only €9.51 and I want to play it so I'm going to have to fight the urge to buy it for the next 7 hours, but yeah. Would have been willing to pay a lot more had it not been for the SecuROM crap.

Oh I agree, SecuRom is a horrible POS (well the disk check kind isn't too bad) but the Batman games are really fantastic and at this low price, it'd be kinda hard to walk away. Of course if you strongly oppose this type of DRM and want to stand your ground, that's cool too.
