Using those pics, name the nine GAFers that posted in this thread'

Easiest way to play: go outside this thread in the main Gaming page, click on the number under "Replies" as shown in the screen grab below.



Once the thin verticle browser window opens press "Ctrl" + F on the browser window to bring up the Search Box and search for the GAFers name in the list by simply using what you see in the photos below as clues.

First to List all 9 usernames correctly wins a gift!

Yeah, was pretty bad for me. I actually reached the point where i completely cutoff buying even on good deals. I just have way too many games now, both on steam and on consoles. I have enough games to last me the next 4 years of solid playing. Im almost considering skipping next gen but i know that doesnt have a chance in hell at happening.

Edit: Bah, I thought it was till the 23rd :( :( :( :(. I was hoping to at least pick up Beat Hazard Ultra, I get paid on Tuesday.

so what about dat SPAZ? can someone give me a rundown on what it is/why I should get it?

Top down space shooter RPG where you control 1 ship out of a fleet of 5. Very heavy customization, randomly generated universe, zombies, evil government. I've personally put about 35ish hours into it but still haven't beaten it yet.

The writing is very good. I laughed out loud more than a few times and I've only just started playing. Reminds of an old Supernes jrpg, fast paced, turn based, battles. Probably the best game I've gotten from this sale so far.

Interesting. There could be 8 letters instead of 16, depending on how we put the blocks.

The problem in your approach is the encoding, I assume it would be unique. But, in your case, there are several decimal numbers for which the sum of all digits add to the same number between 1 and 26. Maybe my assumption is wrong.

If he used a cypher key, we're out of luck :D

I tried to add the two pairs together to see if they formed anything

(1+2), (3+4), (5+6), etc.

Nada.

Now if he used "neogaf" as a cypher key then you could add that to all the lines, but there's nothing to suggest that.

The difference though is plenty of people still bought Half-Life and WarCraft 3 for the core game even after the mods. Who buys Arma II for anything but DayZ anymore?

That was my thinking too, they were mods of popular games already, Day Z took an obscure game and made it a best seller.

Blueprints for upgrades. Specialists to do stuff like shoot harder fly faster etc. Its fanfuckingtastic.

Reminds me of some of the finest Amiga games in its presentation and style and also a C64 one called Morpheus that I seem to remember took over my entire life for months. It makes me feel old but gloriously old :) Playing this game is like buying the finest pair of rose coloured glasses there are on the market.

Waves does have a lot of modes, feels like you would get more bang for your buck there. Only played the time limit mode in the demo and your "ship" does control differently compared to Geometry Wars.

Each game is about 6-8 hours long and if you like anything about old 8-bit rpgs, they are a nice twist to the formula. I didn't like the writing too much but combat seemed fresh with enemies getting stronger each turn thus forcing you to manage your sp accordingly. I also miss overworlds, good times!

I was trying to break that code but I guess I'm in a dead end :(

I put the 16 binary numbers in a table. Then, I converted the vertical binary numbers to decimal. For example:
1010100110111101 (last column) = 43452
Then, I added all the digits of that number to get a number between 1 and 26 (letters).
Finally I got LSSUXELR

I even used different colours for the 0's and 1's to see if there was a weird figure or something. Nop.

I didn't see the start of this puzzle but are you certain its a number puzzle and not a picture puzzle? Kinda looks like a pixel character that needs colouring in.....if I squint and take a massive leap into the maybes.

Yeah, I know. I tried to use my LSSUXELR with a Ceaser decipher (with the 26 possible shifts) and nothing.

Only spent about 60 dollars this sale but the actual price would be over 100 dollars. So I'm satisfied with the games I have. The next sale tho.. Splurge mode.

While not on steam, I also picked up Heroes VI on GAME, simply because the steam sale made me realise I wanted it, and it was cheaper not on steam. I'm looking forward to playing all my new games, definetly a solid sale for me.
