Steam Summer Sales 2012 Thread 3: Sale is over, use this thread for "Look wat i bot"

So, it was a great sale, made all the more better by sharing it with Steam-GAF. Thanks gang. Picked up lots of new goodies...

...and just this minute proceeded to finish Trine, which has been sitting in my library for 2+ years.

Backlog guilt?

So I've got a ton of stuff to download now that the sale is over and don't want to go over my cap. Anybody know a common franchise place in the US that offer good speeds? My university got wise and throttled all steam traffic unless you live on campus and have access to the dorms network. I'd be happy with even 256k down or something like that.

Well the game is boring so you are in luck.

It's an easy game with repetitive battles and I beat it in two sittings on PS3 but it's super charming and that's what I loved about the game.

I would say the same thing if I didn't find it so charming.

Get it, it's a great little game and if you have kids they will love it. Nice change of pace from all the violent, dark themed games.

I hate when people tell me to buy a game I'm not sure I really want, but Costume is absolutely great :) charming, funny, well written, just pure gaming goodness that has you smiling from start to finish. For that price, it's hard to deny that it's a great purchase.

lol. I'm just as conflicted as ever. Hopefully it's on sale next time. Thanks for the opinions.

My Haul

Age of Empires III Complete $9.99
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood $4.99
Broken Sword Triple Pack $2.50
Crusader Kings 2 $9.99
Crysis 2 $11.99
Grand Ages: Rome $2.49
Limbo $2.50
Railworks 3 $3.99
Tobe's Vertical Adventure $1.24
Yesterday $7.50

About $55

Not sure about my haul to be honest, disappointed in Age of Empires III, I don't think i can really get into that game... I like Brotherhood and at that price its totally worth it. Broken Sword is good for $1 but its a bit dated. I like Crusader Kings 2 but it looks time consuming and i really don't have the time to play... Crysis - i get motion sickness when i play FPSes but i just wanted to check it out on the retina macbook - runs great by the way. love limbo, railworks is confusing and complicated. haven't tried tobe or yesterday yet!

Decided to pass on

GTAIV: Complete
Oblivion
Just Cause 2

I didn't get these because I had them on PS3/360 anyway - i wanted to get them to test out the macbook but i saved $25

in hindsight for $55 i probably should have just bought one brand new game like skyrim or something.

So is there still going to be a Best-of day or are we done at noon today?

Done today. The "Best of" recap has been handled with the Flash sales. And, no, I'm not being snarky. Clearly the top sellers have all been getting picked since yesterday.

So, it was a great sale, made all the more better by sharing it with Steam-GAF. Thanks gang. Picked up lots of new goodies...

Trine 2 is even better. Play it:)

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Snagged the LucasArts-published Lego titles as my absolutely-for-real-this-time-no-stop-touching-my-wallet-gaben final purchases of the sale. WB has Aussie Taxed Batman and Harry Potter, so they can wait until the Winter/Christmas sale (assuming they don't go on sale sooner).

Edit: Oh, wait, the WB games aren't Aussie Taxed, just poorly discounted.

Edit 2: Upon further inspection, the Harry Potter games are Aussie Taxed, but the Batman games aren't.

I bought the Batman games. Seriously though, I'm done now.

I give up trying to buy TLR, cant pay :(

Anyway, this has been an awesome sale, thank you guys for the recommendations and answers on everything :), now to actually play all of this so I dont feel guilty during the holiday sale.

So I caved on the SR:3 Franchise pack, since I adored the game on 360. What I'm curious about though, is there some mods/content that make the PC experience even more worthwhile, or will it just be prettier and therefor I should wait a bit longer to play it again?

I'd have to say my biggest surprise of this sale was at how much fun Saint's Row 3 is. I just started it yesterday and it sure makes a good impression, so hopefully that can keep up. The professor genki challenge rooms are my favorite part so far, the writing is so good and funny.

My last pickup of the sale was Binding of Isaac today (didn't realize so many people liked it when it was a daily, then missed the flash sale). But for $4, it's not like I broke the bank. Yay Steam!

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Lucasarts adventure pack is on sale for $5.99.

Anybody know if there are any issues playing on Win 7? I've never played Fate of Atlantis and this looks like a good chance to snag some other good ones along with it.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

I did not know this, thank you so much sir!
