I don't really think it get's easier. It seems like I still spend $150 every single Steam sale. More games seem to be coming to the PC and every time I sale rolls around there is at least 10-15 titles that I really want, as well as a bunch of indie gems that are worth checking out.

PC gaming is the shit, plain and simple. :D It was always great, but Steam/GOG/Amazon Digital service and all these indies games that have been popping all over the place just push it in another league. The icing on the cake would be more japanese developers having the balls to put their games on the platform (having Dark souls and a steam version of FFVII along with some Capcom games is a start) .

If you like fantasy RPGs and don't own Witcher 2, you have fucked up in life. Such a great game. I rarely play games twice and I did here, enjoyed it more the second time around even.

Japanese games are basically the only reason I even have consoles anymore. More Japanese support would be fucking incredible.

The combat in Witcher 2 is god-awful.
Never played a Witcher game... I guess I was fooled by all of Geralt's fancy sword moves in W2, because I thought the combat would be good after I saw a couple clips.

Does Witcher 2 play better with KB/M or 360 pad? I imagine the menus and stuff should obviously be better with KB/M, so i'm just asking about gameplay.

Dark Souls is coming soon on Steam but we're not gonna see FF7 on steam anytime soon.

I'm home! So is this it, has the time come at which I finally buy Skyrim? I can barely contain myself, my fingers tremble as I add it to my cart...

For those on the fence about Max Payne 3. It has been my Game of the Year so far. The gunplay is fun and addicting, definitely worth $30.

The PC version is the highest rated so I'm guessing it's the best one? Max Payne 1 & 2 were PC games first and foremost, so 3 should keep the tradition going. :p I already bought the Max Payne bundle and will play through them before buying the 3rd game so I'm wondering if they are best played with a controller or mouse+keyboard?

The game is optimized in a way that both work great, and don't be fooled, the combat is Dark Souls esque, just not as tight.

How long does each flash deal last aka how many hours am I allowed to sleep if I wait for Sam and max to expire and before whatever replaces renegade ops expires?

Can anyone with strategy background recommend me a game? I'm looking for something that's like nationstates.net where you make decisions about society, laws etc. and those come to fruition. I assume in games you would get to see the effects of those decisions, as well as much more detailed stuff.

I'd like to build cities, see what would happen if you organized people to work in a certain way or what would happen to an economy if you did this that etc. as well as how people would react in the game if you instituted laws they disagreed with or agreed with and so on. Is there any game that comprehensive? Basically a dictator/god simulator? Like The Sims but on a much more grand scale.

AFAIK (and someone go ahead and correct me!) there aren't any simulations that go both as broad (in terms of features) and as deep (in terms of what those features do) as that.

Something like Civilization or Europa Universalis will offer you an 'epic scale' sim of how a nation can grow and change over eons, something like Patrician or Anno will let you tinker with economic models, something like railroad tycoon or cities in motion will let you dive deep into infrastructure and transport models, something like Tropico will let you dabble with edicts and laws and their effects on a population...

Basically, if you figure out what system(s) you are most interested in, you'll be able to find something that will delve deep enough to scratch an itch, or go for something shallower that contains a lot more systems at a much bigger level (and nobody is going to accuse a Europa Universalis of being 'shallow' even if it does not model individual cities, or let you get hands on with its economy)

300k per second download speed? WTF is this, fuckin' Bosnia?

I need my Binary Domain now, so I can have it in my library and not have it in yellow text, dammit!

Also throwing the new SimCity out there, even though it hasnt been released yet

No HiiiLife don't let your "collection" habit kick in and purchase both Left 4 Deads when you'll be spending all time on L4D2 anyway :/

I get a lot of flak for this opinion, but I wanted to throw it out there... L4D and it's sequel both play in visibly different ways. The weapon rebalancing and new infected tend to speed up L4D2's gameplay, while the original moves at a far more deliberate pace. Playing through No Mercy (or any other map) is a notably different experience between the games.

That's absolutely true, anyone who says otherwise is blind, I have around 500 hours in the games combined, I can see a difference.

At least you're getting that speed. Here where I am, any download speed beyond 150 kb/s is cause for celebration. :/

Kay, one last question before I decide... is the destruction, erm, satisfying? For some reason I love blowing up things in games. >_>
It is super fucking fun. It's like a GI Joe game or some other crazy cartoon shit. Wish they'd put out more DLC or a sequel, I'd eat this shit up.

For kb/m I think you can turn on tank controls if you don't have a 2 stick controller.
