Oh... duh. Now I know why it's probably not getting a discount.
They probably don't want to cut down on potential future SiN Gold sales if and when it makes the jump from GOG to Steam.
But yes, it needs to happen.

SiN Gold also comes with the expansion pack, which some people prefer to the main campaign, as well as some feelies. So it's not cut-and-dry that one should always get Emergence for the original.

Yeah and it is not like the DLC looks super great. Not that much and not that special. If Magicka had a "Check out the DLC" I would understand it. Ton of DLC and Vietnam with mages is just nuts! But this? One gear, one character and one "story".

Well yeah, but if you bought the original together with emergence for a couple of bucks, and they then asked 10$ for the Gold, they probably expect people to think twice.

This is all just pure speculation, of course.
Maybe MumboJumbo finally forgot they got all SiN:E together with the rest of Ritual's games when they bought them right after it was released.

This is so random, but I'm playing a Quiz RPG game on my phone while browsing the thread, and right as I got to this post, a question about the villain of Austin Powers came up. I shit you not. I wish the NSA was recording my life at the moment so everyone could see how gloriously random life is sometimes.

I just want the added character because she has a flamethrower, which is one of my favorite weapon ever (if it's well implemented in game, at least). I'd buy it if there were even a 33% discount on it, but there's no incentive to buy it when it's the same price it always is.

It's very bad.

That's what JShackles said after he bought it in a weekly for <$5. Steered clear of it myself until I got it in some bundle.

Gold's already going for cheap on GOG due to low demand (even the members there generally don't know what to expect from the game or simply say it was buggy and assume it still is). MJ might as well face this fact and propagate their install base instead.
