For real. I had most of Light World Hell A+'d but I can't play the dark world for more than 5 minutes without getting totally frustrated. Not worth the hassle.

I'm kind of a tard when it comes to point and click/adventure games. But even with the super easy puzzles and listening to the dialog (ughhhhh) it took me about 30 minutes. I doubt most people would get the achievement in 5 minutes.

You'd be surprised. Because it's pretty much instant retry, the frustration levels are pretty low. It's the best 2D platformer I've ever played.

However it has been cheaper in the past, and it'll presumably be on sale again when the OS X version comes out.

I beat the game long time ago, so it really took less than 2 minutes. I just clicked on everything and skipped the dialogue. The first time through the game, I didn't see the hook, so I was stuck at that part for a good 20 mins.

First room. click on everything. Second room get the keys, go back to the first room get the lamp. Get the scarf in the second room. Use the scarf with lamp. Put the scarf in the lock for Juans cage. Talk to Juan he will tell you the answer to the story. Tell the story

Where? Port... Sickle...

How long in the brig? 10... days...

Let us do? Swabbin' the decks... in silk dresses...

Go up the stairs. Go to room on the left. Pick up the fish, and the peppercorn. Put fish on the hook by the window. Open the window. The cook will wake up to close the window. Put the Peppercorn in the spilled rujm, and open the window again, and you will get the achievement.

Maybe I just suck at the game, but it seems that it's really hard to get 20 fireworks on one map in Hoard. I've only managed 10. After that the whole map is cluttered with enemies.

This is embarassing. I'm afraid I'm computer illiterate by PC gaming standards. These are the instructions for adjusting FOV but I'm still not sure how to do it.

Go to <steamDir>\SteamApps\<yourName>\half-life\valve, and open autoexec.cfg. Add this line to it:
default_fov xxx

Can anyone give me step by step instruction on how to do this?

Which one is the better deal: Darksiders or Half Life Complete Pack? I can only buy one because I already spent €24 in 2 days and don't know what kind of cool games will come later on.

the directory is the path to the folder in explorer for the half life files

so like if you have it on the c drive it might be C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\apana\half-life\valve

There should be a file in the folder called autoexec.cfg, open that up with notepad and add a line at the bottom that says "default_fov 90"

save, exit, open half life and play

edit: when you put that line in the cfg don't put the quotes there ;p

Anyone who says Darksiders is god damn lying. ALL of Half-Life 1 and 2 for $10 is the deal of the century.

I thought it was meant to be soon. Regardless it's a great game, and not a bad price at all. I don't have it on Steam, but I was tempted.

They should make these achievements a little bit more fun instead of making you want to punch the screen. i don't remember it being that hard last year, but i barely had any games so i didnt really get the achievements.

The achievements today are damn hard. The Super Meat Boy and Hoard ones are borderline impossible.

Salsa, yeah. It's a lot of fun. Worth the cheap price, absolutely.

For Football Manager, is there supposed to be no sound in the menu? I didn't get any audio feedback for intro logos either. Anyone know if that's normal?

I booted up Super Meat Boy to go for the new achievement and it unlocked when I hit the main menu.

Like a Boss.

Also, first purchase of the sale - Battlefield Bad Company 2.

While I didn't not like Half-Life 2, I simply think it's a good game that gets way too much love. Then again, I'm hardly an FPS fan.

Eh, decided to pass on Hoard after reading some reviews/impressions elsewhere. It also seems to play much better with a 360 pad and I don't currently have a wired one or the wireless adaptor to do so.

Also decided to skip Bioshock 1 double-dipping for now - it has been $5 quite often anyway. If it were $2.50 I couldn't say no, but since I already have it for PC $5 is a pass.

This just means I freed up $8 to spend on other days of the sale! :D

The Super Meat Boy achievement is a killer, I'm nearly done with it now though. Had to take a break cause my thumb was getting a bit sore.

Kind of a weak discount for Meatboy. I remember getting it for 3 during this one sale. I'd recommend people for it to go down to that price range again. Unless you really really want it. However Darksiders for that price is completely worth it.

I'm not a fan of Half-Life (or any Valve game except TF2). I beat the original when it came out. Whenever I try to play them now, it's just boring. I don't think they're bad, I just don't think they're as good as everyone else thinks they are.

Nah me too. I'm almost at the end of HL² and I don't really see what is so great about it... I mean sure it's alright but that's it.
