Seriously contemplating New Vegas. Not really sure. How is it bug-wise? Have they cleared those up since launch? Also, are the DLCs worth it?

You won't like FNV if you didn't like Fallout 3.
I agree with this
Tho FNV has must better questing system and better story ect..the feel of the game is to close to other Bethesda games if you don't like those, you won't like New Vegas

So what's the verdict on Mount and Blade? Thinking about playing/buying one of them with a friend.

I think that Warband is the best choice right now... The game is great for singleplayer and for multi.

And there are also a lot of good mods for it.

If you don't mind dying, the combat is insanely fun in a group. The servers are always occupied, so you'll never be short of players.

So nay on the mount & blade expansion? $3 seems cheap but I'm hearing that it's not the best in the series...
If you grab any M&B title make sure it's Warband, though it is relatively still quite expensive compared to other daily deals.

At least with Warband you have the standard game formula as well as two huge mods: cRPG which makes multiplayer much more scaled, and Prophesy of Pendor which is arguably much larger than the native game with completely different factions and overworld. Diplomacy is also a great mod if you want to experience Warband naturally but better emphasis on the diplomatic side of things.

Just a warning about Bionic Commmando Rearmed. I have an ATI 5850 and rearmed has aweful screen tearing that I can't remove. I have tried in the ATI control panel, and d3doverrider and nothing gets rid of it including trying different drivers

Also is homefront worth $25?

Doom 3's Steam page says it is not compatible with Windows 7.

That sucks.

I played Doom 3 from start to finish, purchased from Steam, on Windows 7. No idea what others experience is.

Almost no one is going to say yes. The consensus would be something like: Short, uneventful campaign that ends just as it is getting closer to good, not particularly popular or well liked multiplayer mode although it's fun enough I guess.

I don't think the Doom pack is really that high in value when compared to the ID complete pack. Am I the only one with this?
I played Doom recently, and all I want is Doom 1 and 2. I don't want to pay for 3 >_<.

Going to hold off on Fire and Sword, I own Warband and love it, but the meh impressions on F&S makes it sound like it is skippable.

i know it's already said often enough, but you should really buy Frozen Synapse if you haven't already.

it's my goty at the moment besides portal 2.

this is how much i played since the official release four weeks ago

and i literally haven't even started the campaign yet, all in multiplayer (and there almost only one mode of five)!
and playing with random people is no problem at all because of the nature of the game

really great game, and i'm not the biggest fan of strategy or multiplayer...but this is like crack :p

I want to know too.

Have a US member gift it to you and pay him via PayPal.

Is there any issues gifting a UK game to somone in the US ?

Nope, gifting cross-region is totally within the TOS.

(Just don't do it by yourself via a proxy or whatever)

Are there any good mods for doom3? Is resurrection of evil worth playing through? should we just start a lttp thread for it? I'm kinda excited to play doom3 again after so many years even though I kinda didn't like it the first time around. Damn you, steam.

It works perfectly on Windows 7. You may have to do some config file editing to enable widescreen support but other than that it works great. Hell, it works great in Linux too.

How is Doom 3?
I recently went through Doom, while I gave Doom 3 a try many years ago. It wasn't a bad title, but it is just another typical shooter. Not bad, but not really good either. While going through Doom for the first time was an absolute blast.

If there is one complaint I have about Steam it is the inaccurate product pages. If it's not a problem like this, where it tells me "OS: Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP (Does not support Windows Vista/7)," it's the product page not mentioning that a game has native controller support, when it really does.

Stuff like this has the potential to cost Steam sales.

Getting Alpha Protocol and With Fire and Sword. Frozen Synapse looks great and I've heard nothing but good things, but I'm willing to bet it'll be lower during the winter sale. Also thinking about Bully. I've played a bit of it and it seems okay. But not sure if it's something I'd ever actually finish.

For those of you who pick up Warband (awesome decision, btw), make sure to check out the cRPG mod if you plan on playing MP. Gonna attempt the ticket right now, hm.

How are steam games for mod compatability? I'd only consider games like Fallout NV if I can play w/ mods.

Does anyone know if Doom 3 got any top of the line single player mods?

I can't think of a game other than GTA4 that has issues with mods and GTA4 is only because of the forced patch.

Fallout NV is steamworks so yeah mods work. It's the only version that exists.
