Well whatever, I think of it as an RTS game with tower defense elements and the way it plays out is quite a bit different than AOE or other RTS games since the main objective is defense and surviving increasing difficult waves of enemies, not unlike TD games.

You can think of it what you like, but to tell someone else that it's a TD game is simply misleading. According to your definition Starcraft is also a tower defense game. Almost every game in existance requires you to 'survive waves of enemies'. Sure you can cower in a castle and sit there waiting to be attacked if that's what you want, but in order to get through the game you will have to launch successful counter attacks as well.

Saw a franchise sale on Fallout: New Vegas, and was automatically happy that I'd be able to pickup Fallout 3. Then I saw Fallout 3 didn't have a deep discount :(

I've done the first two levels only. Much longer to go?
I think the first level with water is the fifth (though I'm not sure on that). To get the achievement you just have to switch characters when your oxygen bar is almost empty. You don't need the item AEREC mentioned.

Man, the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer is great. I was worried that it would be dead because people say they have had problems connecting, but I easily found full game in a matter of seconds. Maybe because of the recent sale, but I hope the community stays. This Penny-Arcade comic perfectly describes it:

It's great to hunt down and kill your opponent without them even noticing. There are so many intense moments, like seeing your pursuer rush towards you, only to be taken out by another player. Or to watch your target take out someone, and then you kill them before they're even done with their kill animation. One time I was blending in with a crowd, and my target joined. I immediately killed him, but the guy next to me in the crowd was my pursuer and I got axed soon after. So. Awesome.

It's been awhile since I've played the games, but I don't remember being able to counterattack the enemy since they're not on the map. They enter only during attacks.

In any case, I didn't define anything you moron, I simply said it had elements to TD games, and suggested it to someone based on what they were asking for and a lot of people compare Stronghold to TD games, and rightfully so.

How can you stand Bit.Trip.RUNNER for more than 10 minutes? That game fucks my eyes badly. No one told them those backgrounds were horrible while developing this thing?!

No idea... people seem to like it for some reason.

Some one told me to turn off vsync... so that might help, but I won't bother to try it on my end. I'm done with Bit.Trip games.

Don't try to make this personal, you'll only embarass yourself. Clearly it has been a long time since you've played since there are quite often 4 players on the map once you get established into the game, all attacking each other. You can pretend people like to compare it to TD games but by 'people' you mean just you. I can start pulling it's genre from every searchable database to finally convince you but it would be a waste of time, you can google it yourself. I don't know why you're so vested into misleading people into making purchases they might not be interested in. Stronghold is a good game, but a TD game it is not.

You're the first I've heard complain about it, I love the backgrounds. Just depends on the person I guess.

I had the same problem. It moves so fast and it requires total focus, so my eyes started to ache pretty fast. I liked the art style and the music but if vsync doesn't help, I may be unable to play it much.

I have no problem with Runner and my eyes. Now Beat, that'll mess with me.

Well, you've certainly shamed me, sir. Thank goodness the people have you to save them from myself misleading them into bad game purchases.

I asked this earlier when it first went on sale. I think I only got one response lol. I'm surprised more people don't talk about it considering how many recommended to buy. I'm guessing it wasn't like this for the Wii version.

BIT.TRIP Beat is a better game when you start to lose and the whole background goes black. :(

I'd actually not bought anything in the sale so far, but had to bite on the New Vegas DLC. Didn't want to end up doing what I did with FO3 and buying the GotY edition just for the DLC.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?

Ugh. So I bought KOTOR on the first day of the sale, but according to widescreengamingforum.com, the widescreen options are pretty terrible. Especially since the typical widescreen mod they use doesn't work with Steam, and would require a no-CD executable to be installed. Which I don't want to do, since I don't want Steam screwing me over for any possible license agreement violations associated with that.

I'd hate to be the one to get your account locked, but I'm 99% positive this wouldn't happen. If it hasn't happened already, and the note on the site makes it sound like people have been using it for awhile, it'll never happen. Not the kind of thing anyone would pursue a paying customer over.

Company of Heroes is so good if you've never played it before. Amazing game. Great list all around.

Thinking about buying Fallout NV. Will the graphics be impressive on the new PC rig I am building? I never played FO3 and I had trouble getting into Oblivion.

I've only played it for like 10 minutes, but Blueberry Garden seems like it's only worthwhile if you're on some really heavy drugs. You might be able to get by with just huffing something from under the kitchen sink, but either way it's only worth buying because it costs next to nothing.

Deus Ex and Bloodlines are two of the best games ever, though, so it's a solid list you've got there.

Yeah, you're probably right...maybe I'll read around a bit more about it first. Can't stand to play games in stretched widescreen. =/ Even prefer Ver- than stretched. Hah.

I also bought it and I am using the no-CD executable. No problems so far.

From what I understand, the worst that could happen is Steam re-downloading the executable, but that only happens if you give it a different name.

Blueberry Garden can be beaten in less than an hour and doesn't have any replay value. It's only 1.25, which is about what I got it for, but it's worth mentioning I think. Also popular opinion seems (On the Steam forums anyway) to be that Dreamfall is not nearly as good as The Longest Journey. Gary's Mod doesn't have a campaign or anything and is very literally a sandbox of tools and props. I put off buying it for years thinking I wouldn't like it but eventually dropped some money on it only to find out I was completely right.

I just got the Flight Control achievement and I haven't even unlocked the umbrella map.

I didn't really imagine this game would be all that fun.

Ok, guys.

Anyone's willing to gift me a copy of Alpha Protocol in exchage for a copy of Frozen Synapse?

The RPG isn't available where I live, so you'd be getting a free 1 dollar and making me happy at the same time.

Okay, thanks. Will probably give a try then.

I hate Steam.

So much temptation.

I've been wanting to try Frozen Synapses but the price is pretty high considering what else I can get.

Buying Frozen Synapse. If someone is interested in the second copy let me know. I don't paypal or any of that shit, I'd just want you to gift me another game from Steam of roughly equal value, I'll tell you what ones I'd like if anyone is up for it. Doesn't even need to be a game from today's sale either if you can't get into Steam for some reason today.

Both those games can be beaten pretty quick. Blueberry garden is more of an experience that I would say is worth the $1.25 but know what you are getting. Crayon physics I would probably wait till cheaper

What's the difference between the Serious Sam Gold Pack and the Serious Sam Double Pack?

Price difference is 2 €. Weird.
