I plan on buying most (or all) of these games before the Summer Sale ends.

If you think I should skip one or more of the following titles, let me know why you feel that way.

And Yet It Moves - $2.50
Blueberry Garden - $1.25
Call of Cthulu: Dark Corner of the Earth - $7.49
Company of Heroes - $6.69
Crayon Physics Deluxe - $5.00
Deus Ex: GOTY Edition - $6.69
Eufloria - $3.75
Frozen Synapse - $12.49
Garry's Mod - $2.49
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall - $6.24
Loom - $3.34
Machinarium - $3.40
The Path - $2.49
Terraria - $7.49
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines - $13.39
The Void - $4.99
X-Com: UFO Defense - $3.34
If you have to skip any of them, I'd skip Crayon Physics and Call of Cthulu. I don't think Crayon Physics is a bad game, it's just not amazing and you got a lot of games there. Don't skip X-COM.

I liked it, but had trouble with the sections where you had to fight a lot of little bugs. Pisses me off that devs use such cheap design in this day and age.

What's the difference between the Serious Sam Gold Pack and the Serious Sam Double Pack?

Price difference is 2 €. Weird.

Gold pack also contains the non-HD version of the games. I guess it's for collectors !?

Hey, Call of Cthulu is great!

New Vegas bought.

Loved Fallout 3 but for some reason held off on New Vegas. No better time than now to jump in I guess.

Holding off on the DLC, mind. By the time I've had my fill with the core New Vegas game and everything else in the backlog, they'll probably be about 50 pence each.

I got it on a mid week sale and I loved playing through it. Was pretty short, took me 7h according to steam BUT I its a great mix of Resistance/HL2 and Bioshock. Its a solid, good looking fps with interesting weapons!

Get Singularity for that price!

It'd be cool if you guys added me as well, I'm new to Steam, but picking up a lot of these games. I'll be playing BF:BC2, TF2, and Torchlight, and Witcher 2 until BF3 comes out.

Steam id: Eltacoman

Help me Gaf before I press the button! Is there any co-op in M&B Warbad or Swords and Fire? Think I read something about co-op being added but I cant find confirmation of it anywhere :/

If it's true, what does the co-op consist of? Full campaign or some Survival mode? Not interested in SP nor competitive MP, co-op will make or break the deal though :)

Can't I use a 360 pad in Bully? The control menu says "Xbox 360 compatible" but it doesn't recognize it.

Yes. Do you have to toggle it in the menu? I can't remember, but my pad works with it.

I just got the Flight Control achievement and I haven't even unlocked the umbrella map.

I didn't really imagine this game would be all that fun.

Yeah, that happened to me. No umbrella's at all.

Yay

A solid FPS with hints of HL2. The story is pretty interesting and the time reversal mechanic is used well. Played it on 360

Careful mate, the Fallout 3 DLC is still $5 a pop. You might want to grab these two DLCs while they're only $3 even if you won't play them for a while (they add some additional perks to choose while leveling up so they have some value even during the core game).

I bought the two Fallout New Vegas DLC earlier but had to wait until now to download so that I did not trigger my traffic management. Can anyone confirm if the DLC was 7.7GB for them or is Steam just messing up the file sizes again?

I wanted to play the game tonight but if I really have to download 7.7GB that might not happen.

Thinking about buying Fallout NV. Will the graphics be impressive on the new PC rig I am building? I never played FO3 and I had trouble getting into Oblivion.

lots of visual mods for NV that make it look fantastic..but no matter what its still got the Janky Bethesda models and animations.

I bought both and my NV only updated like 900 MB.

Also popular opinion seems (On the Steam forums anyway) to be that Dreamfall is not nearly as good as The Longest Journey.
Dreamfall is not as good as TLJ, but that's like saying Episode 1 is not as good as Half-life 2.

The only two problems with Dreamfall is the forced combat (yeah, in an adventure game) and one part in the game halfway through that I just open GameFAQs to get me through because it's so dumb.

I just received a gift from Mistakoo UK :lol.
It's awesome to have siblings abroad <3
(Alpha Protocol + Bully).

I also bought New Vegas (+DLC), Trine and Frozen Synapse.

Do I have to get Bionic Commando Rearmed to get the skin for the new one? I have Rearmed XBLA.

Disagree If you love survival Horror fps you owe it to yourself to play COC:DCOTE
Yes it has problems, yes its buggy..but its a great low budget game.

There's no toggle, it just says it's compatible. It doesn't respond to the controller at all.

Welp the keyboard controls are decent at least but it would be neat with a pad.

I liked the story in Dreamfall better honestly. The combat is not any fun but it's easy enough to be a non-issue.

But the ending is pretty inexcusable. If you buy these games, don't be in any rush to finish them, since either way you'll be waiting until 2018 or so to get the rest of the story in Dreamfall Chapters.

How is Alpha Protocol?

I'm tempted to buy AP and Trine. Does Trine support any kind of online multiplayer on PC?

I blame Funcom for making Tornquist work on dumb MMO projects that are clearly doomed to fail.

I hate Steam.

So much temptation.

I've been wanting to try Frozen Synapses but the price is pretty high considering what else I can get.

You know that the price is for 2 copies, right?

Only Fire & Sword has a multiplayer co-op mode (Captain Co-op). Haven't tried it myself, though. Bear in mind, it's a multiplayer mode (like CTF or siege), but co-op. It is not a full campaign co-op.

Yea I realised that after posting.

I think I'll give it a miss though. I'm afraid of buying things (at least this early in the sale) because I know they'll end up in a back log.

I'm having problems with the Steam client. I can't seem to go to most M-rated games' pages; I automatically get told I can't view the page. When I try logging in on the website, it works like normal. What's going on? EDIT: I guess maybe it's problems with certain game's pages? For example, in the client, Alpha Protocol's page is inaccessible.

Also, the Steam website (profiles, etc.) are all in Japanese. Why is this and how can I fix it? It's been like that for me even before I ever signed up.

I consider Alpha Protocol to be the spiritual successor of Deus Ex (more so than Bloodlines) so ... it's awesome, if you don't care much about polish & bugs.

Sadly, No online Co-op for Trine :(

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Damn, I wanted the id super pack. With the Doom collection on sale though I might just cherry pick what I want from that pack instead. I only really want to play the Dooms, Quake 1 and Hexen / Heretic, I could do without the rest. Hmmm ...

You keep failing the age check. Restart the client.

If that doesn't work delete clientregistry.blob and restart

Most steam problems can be resolved by deleting that blob

I like the story equally in both for different reasons, but the gameplay in TLJ is just so much better than Dreamfall. I still really like both games though.

But yeah, that cliffhanger ending... I mean, at least TLJ felt like a complete story arc without any loose ends. Dreamfall was just... "And tune in next time! ... whenever that will be." I hope they actually will make the continuation, but sometimes it feels like it's not very likely... I'm losing faith in game developers to actually have the ability to create and complete whole stories. That's why I'd prefer to read books for stories, at least then there's no worry about it being canned due to lack of funding/interest :<

There is a toggle, it's the second option from the top when viewing in controls -> xbox 360 blah blah.

Thanks a lot for your reply! Just looked up some videos, looks pretty standard, I'll give the game a miss, wallet wont complain :p

Wow. So, I have only gotten to play HL2 on an Xbox1 until now.

The fucking game looks better than so many current generation games when you max it out. How does it look so nice? Why didn't I own a more capable PC years ago? Why do I keep asking questions?

To be fair, HL2 did get a major boost in graphics when it was "ported" to the Orange Box SDK base sometime in 2008. The original release didn't look anywhere near as good as it does now.
