Nobody with Comcast is downloading 30 megabytes a second.

Orellio said:That's the order they released in and I guess the order they should be played. CoP and Clear Sky could be switched, it doesn't really matter. But Clear Sky is a prequel to the other two.
Orellio said:Thank God! 30MB down you'd have to be in Japan or Korea or some shit. Maybe on a University T1 or T3 line but I don't know what those would max out at off hand.

Shaw in Western Canada offers 250mbps lines, which would be 31.25MB/s, for around $70/mo.Orellio said:Thank God! 30MB down you'd have to be in Japan or Korea or some shit. Maybe on a University T1 or T3 line but I don't know what those would max out at off hand.

REV 09 said:10gigs in 1 hour is insane to me. Just curious, what is everyone's average DL speeds from Steam? Also, what max speed does your service provide?
I pay for 6mb down (in the process of upgrading to 12mb), get about half of that or 3mb down when using a speed test. My average Steam speed is 500kb though...been more like 350kb this week.

I purchased Stalker Cop and Clear sky but did not get a receipt ( I was at home during lunch when I did this).
Im at work now trying to install steam to office computer but it wont send out the steam guard email so I can put that into steam to log in.
I also noticed I did not receive email receipts for my purchases today when I normally get them instantly (as I did yesterday when I purchased Alpha Protocol and Frozen Synapse).
Ive already put in a ticket with steam support, I just hope my account did not get hacked...kinda anxious to get back home now and check though.

TheExodu5 said:I hope they've fixed the Steam versions of STALKER SoC and CoP. CoP, in particular, loaded incredibly slowly (like 2 minute load times), and would freeze and stutter a lot during gameplay.
I had to download the cracked .exe for it to work properly. It then loaded in 10-15 seconds and ran perfectly.

Shambles said:Good lord how did you come across that pricing? They're 50/5 plan standalone is more than that. If I was well off I'd totally go for the 250/5. I actually have to find an ISP for my new house that i'm moving into in two weeks. The new shaw plans are shitty for the fact that there is no middle plan really anymore. Even their dial-up like plan is the same 75$/month that the 50/5 plan is. I might try to see if I can score a students plan although i'm kind of not a student this year. I'd be happier with 25/2.5 for half the price.

It guess it's a matter of role-playing vs player-like AI, which creates the more interesting experiences in a single-player game? In Civ4 you can create powerful "artificial" bonds through religion etc that wouldn't really beneficial to them, but it does make for some interesting choices, sticking with your own magic man in the sky or joining an alliance.1-D_FTW said:I hear all these complaints about diplomacy and I can't help but think of the real world.
