I actually own KF already, but would anyone care to explain what makes it different from Left 4 Dead? I've played an hour of it and didn't really see the appeal, but then again I didn't give it much time either.

I snapped that one up with a quickness but haven't played it yet. I think the best deal by far this whole sale is Borderlands GOTY with 4 expansions for $7.60.

WHAT WHAT?! :O

Amazing game too! I've been playing it non stop.
Ah forgot about that.

Got it in the last sale (think it may have been cheaper) and it was wellll worth it. The two best games on sale by far.

For starters, the through-the-gun experience blows Left for Dead away. All the guns feel better and you can aim down the sights. It also features different classes that you can upgrade (only 6 levels though) and you're not moving point to point on a map really, you're finding placing to hold out again an onslaught of zombies.

Both games are good, but they're actually quite different.

Jamestown, bought!

Excellent, only three more games I want out of this sale: Anomaly, VtM Bloodlines, and Frozen Synapse. I stupidly slept on the Synapse daily deal over the weekend, hopefully it'll get the same daily deal again if there is a "recap" deal this weekend.

Is there a tutorial on how to cap videos in TF2? I'd like to get that ticket today...

Douchebag. Yes, me.
Gothic 4 is absolute trash. Gothic 3 was a mess, but with a fan patch it is quite good.

Avoid Gothic 4 at all costs. It's by a different developer than the first 3, and they did such a terrible job on it the studio got shut down.

Second. The Spiral Knights one was pulled a few days ago (back today).

Spiral Knights got pulled, 1 2 3 Drop the Beat like it's an ugly baby got pulled, and the video one got pulled today. That's at least three.

Proudly debt free. If you need a couple bucks, just ask.
Armored Princess looks cool. I've never played King's Bounty before, OK to start with this one?

You reminded me of something actually: is it possible to make it so you have to hold down right click to aim down the sights, instead of it being a toggle? IIRC I couldn't figure out how to change that.

But thanks for your thoughts, i'll definitely give it another go soon.

fyi you can't get the Atom Zombie Smasher cheev if you use modifiers (at least I wasn't able to. I activated all the beneficial modifiers before starting a new game and didn't earn it).

Don't want anything today...Batman at 7.50 reminds me that I paid for the non-GOTY version during a winter sale and still haven't played it

King's Bounty is awesome if you like turned based strategy. I'm playing the first one now and am definitely picking up the next two.

Anyone know how far into Rush the achievement is?

I'm coming to the conclusion that if isn't Tetris (or something like Chime or Everyday Genius ), I no longer enjoy pure puzzle games. Think my installed list is going to get a haircut. May be the first Steam sale where my backlog has actually shrunk.

funny they didn't go with a franchise sale.

Sims 3 is £10.20. That's $16 ish. Pretty expensive for a game released in 2009.
I'd agree, except The Sims games are of the same category I'd put Blizzard and simulation games in - endlessly replayable and god tier at what they do. They don't typically depreciate in value quickly. £10.20, for those who don't have it yet, is a steal.

I can see where you're coming from.

Personally I think I would get bored though.

Damn it.
I mistakenly closed the PayPal window when it popped up (no idea how), and now I keep getting this error: "There has been an internal error initializing your transaction. Please contact support for assistance."
I did contact support, but no reply yet. How long do they usually take to do it?

Rush is awesome. Seems your problem is you need twitchy puzzle games where Rush is a sit-and-think kind of puzzle game.

Anyone else not able to connect to the Spiral Knights server? I just installed it so maybe it's just me.
If you have a Linksys wireless router, you might as well uninstall, the developers have stated that they don't want your business.

It's amazing to me how many reviews of Gothic 4 basically amount to "it sucks because it's not like the others, buy Risen!" instead of actually saying anything about the game.

Just because it's not like the first 3 doesn't mean it's inherently bad, but so few people out there actually judge it on its own merits it's hard to find a decent description of the game.

Here

It's kind of pretty, but a very boring game.

Atom Zombie Smasher is lag-hell for me. Is this a common problem?

Sims 2 Deluxe on Amazon is actually higher right now, and all the expansions are higher than their Sims 3 counterparts. It really is rare that Sims games get a decent sale before being replaced by a sequel.

Actually it ran like crap on my laptop...I'm trying to remember what I did to fix it. Ran fine on my desktop, though. Try this thread: http://www.blendogames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=372

edit: I think it was removing the ati file mentioned in the first post that did it for me.

Ugh. So I got to the end of Cold Stream on L4D2, climbed the ladder that goes into the helicopter, but I couldn't actually go in. The helicopter then flies off and instantly kills me.

Guess I gotta start over. :\

I know. I used to enjoy them, but with a backlog that's over 100 games, I need to be honest with myself. I'll have to boot it back up if the mission is right there though.

I tried the demo, and what I saw in that was really really bad. I would trust the reviewers in this case.
