My PC is no juggernaut and it ran and looked great. I loved it.

Yea like most Unreal Engine games it runs great on even mediocre PCs. My PC is no beast. I have an ATI HD 3650 and it runs damn good on my PC.

Pretty much, like every other dev team they blame the user.
On their forums they posted "It's too old, you can't expect support for it forever."

But it's still sold today and it's probably the most popular home/entry level wireless router.

A shame, as the game looked up my alley.

This is the first time I heard about it and I have, like 25 hours on my L4D2 counter. Which should actually be much more.

Yeah, I don't know about this either. Granted, I haven't played in a couple of months. Is this new?

If you want to properly use iCEnhancer I recommend buying the retail GTA IV.

So Sims 3, LP2 and Prototype are overpriced. Arcania 4 seems to be hated and Arcania 3 has crappy combat (from watching videos).

Another day with no purchases.

13.60 for Sims 3 is overpriced?

Fuck it I guess I'll get GTA4 as well. Never finished the PS3 version anyway.

Is there a mod that adds checkpoints to the missions if you happen to fail? I'd finish the game if that was an option.

batman - i assume it's usb controller compatible? definitely looks like a title needing to be played with an x360 controller
It may look that way but it actually plays fantastic on mouse and keyboard. I still like to use my wireless 360 pad, but I was shocked at how well it controls with m+kb.

Can you get the Left 4 Dead 2 achievements playing single player?

Same question for Killing Floor. I already have all this games but haven't really played them alot.

I just want to know if a have to suck online or if I can learn to play alone and get the tickets :lol

Not really, but the complete pack isn't further discounted, so you only save about 2$ buying the complete compared to any other day during the sale, or you can pick-and-choose whatever you want instead, but they add up when some of the expansion packs are at the same price as the base game.

thanks ill give both a whirl. thats surprising though because I assume this was a port to PC (looks like it was originally designed with consoles in mind)

Nope. Had the problem for a while, and even a reinstall hasn't helped. I can see all the special infected just fine, only tanks are invisible.

I get quite a few hits when I google "l4d2 invisible tank" but no one seems to have a fix.

I'm beginning to fear that I may already own every game that I want from Steam that's currently available. D:

I'm still waiting on Bulletstorm to go on sale, but I only have that and 4 other games on my wish list. Everything else is either not out yet (Deus Ex, Serious Sam 3, Rage) or I only want them to collect them (Asscreed 1,2,B; I've played them all on the 360 so I'll buy them when they are even cheaper than they were this sale). Crysis 2 is about the only PC game I want that isn't on Steam...and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean... :(

Oh, well. I guess I have no choice but to finally start playing the hundreds of games I already own. *sigh*

It was, it's just a really good port.

On the flip side of that opinion, I started it with kb/m and restarted so I could learn the gamepad controls, but I'm just funny that way about third-person action games.

Kind of tempted to pick up Kings Bounty. Any comparisons to the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 that was just on the daily sales a few days ago? I picked that up and I'm really enjoying it.

So far I still think that Just Cause 2 was the best sale.

If it comes back on the final day, I recommend you all buy it :p

Tempted to pick up Kings Bounty but the strategy aspect is scaring me...Shogun 2 has taught me that I don't know jack about strategy..

Is it pretty difficult?

Not really. You should put a point or two into the scouting ability so you can see how big opposing armies are, but the battles themselves are very much strategy-lite and they're turn-based. Here's a gameplay video to give you some idea.

I just bought Arkham Asylum (for cheaper) from Gamersgate last week, but Gothic 3 or Far Cry for under 3 bucks might be worth it. Also, may give King's Bounty a try.

I guess I'll get Batman and GTA. Still no word on whether those mods work with GTA4 on steam?

If I get Sims 3, which expansions are worth it?

I'd just like to say that Far Cry 2 is among my favourite games ever made. It's not for everyone at all, but for the price I would seriously recommend giving it a go. It looks gorgeous, the atmosphere is wonderful, and exploring for diamonds is very absorbing. Give it a shot and just go get lost in the world.

I snapped that one up with a quickness but haven't played it yet. I think the best deal by far this whole sale is Borderlands GOTY with 4 expansions for $7.60.

WHAT WHAT?! :O

Amazing game too! I've been playing it non stop.

After today I'm pretty much there also. I'll use steam sales to replace console games on the cheap and for indie games in the future.

L4D: yes

Killing Floor: I'm not sure, but you might have to host a local server. the KF one might be easier online though to get through the first few waves, you can ask others to spare the scrake so you can get the achievement

They got rid of the ticket...didn't seem to be working for anybody. It will probably be back later.
Either that or they'll just give it to everybody. Something like this happened with the treasure hunt sale and Valve just said "Everybody wins! Yay!"

It's amazing to me how many reviews of Gothic 4 basically amount to "it sucks because it's not like the others, buy Risen!" instead of actually saying anything about the game.

Just because it's not like the first 3 doesn't mean it's inherently bad, but so few people out there actually judge it on its own merits it's hard to find a decent description of the game.

Gothic 3 (Arcania is Gothic 4) has great combat once you apply the latest Community Patch. It's easy to find; it's even linked off of the developer's website.

The CP adds alternative AI routines (among other things) that make fighting mobs slightly easier as the number of enemies that will target you at one time is dependent on the difficulty level. Also, this patch removes the much-maligned stun lock, which means that every video you've seen of the main character getting repeatedly raped by a boar is now irrelevant. Getting hit doesn't put you into a one-second stun animation which can spiral out of control with subsequent hits.

There are a host of other benefits of the Community Patch, but the rebalancing is totally optional. You can enjoy the game without it turned on. The Alternative AI, however, is a must. Playing Gothic 3 without the Community Patch is as bad as playing an unpatched V:TM Bloodlines.
