You have to ignore it, unless of course you don't know what type of games interest you.

Ugh at the L4D2 ticket.

First off, it ran like bloody shit till I turned down the settings to low. Looked great still, but I didn't have this problem when I played it back last year.

2nd, I had pubs. Had to do it twice and both times, only one person made it. First time was when it was running like crap, so my fault for not changing them sooner. 2nd time was me as the carry. Babysitting both the idiot who runs ahead and the idiot who continually gets caught behind. We spawn and he's out the door, while number 4 doesn't move till 2 minutes in. 2nd, he is always behind regardless. Just diddling around. I bailed on them at the last turn and made it though after they forced me to use the last pipe to pick up the lot of them. ^_^

FYI, for those on the fence about King's Bounty, Remo gave it a big rap on Idle Thumbs a while ago. I accidentally bought King Arthur because I originally though that was the game he spoke about but I'm definitely getting it. He has pretty decent taste.

Batman.

Same here man. After spending most of the week moaning about how crap the sales been (which was partly due to me being pissed off that I missed Just Cause 2), I cant argue with the value of this. Simply awesome. The 8gb download to play it... Not so much. Glad I changed ISP's, this time last month I had a 50gb monthly cap... :\

You can unlock it using single player. That's how I did it.

But, yeah, I'm not a fan of the latest version. It's more streamlined and tighter focused than the old version I played, but some of the changes kind of suck IMO.

For those who haven't noticed, 'Time gentlemen, please' and 'Ben there, Dan that' is a stealth sale with 0,99 euros for the pack.

'And yet it moves' is also 75% off at 2,25 euros. (which is actually 25 cents less then during the holiday sale :p ).

A.R.E.S and Anomaly: Warzone Earth are still 'just' 50% off at 4,99. Still hoping for a daily on those, though.

And for the guy who wished Lost Planet 2 on sale: I feel your pain, lol.

I started playing Deus Ex and it's great. however the Direct3D 10 renderer causes several black screens and I have to alt+tab to fix it. very annoying

Its been the story for all the Capcom games this sale right? I'm still betting my balls that SF4 vanilla will be on 'sale' at some point in the next few days for a horrendously unreasonable amount.

Do you guys reckon Sims 3 will be even lower during Christmas sales? I want to try it out, but I'm willing to wait as it's not too high on my priority list of games to play.

Tempted to get Jamestown and Atom Zombie Smasher but I feel like the former will be cheaper in another sale and the latter I'm still debating about. If there was a way to pay with Amazon gift card credit then I'd buy both in a heartbeat lol.

I played a bit of Atom Zombie Smasher before coming to work and it was surprisingly good. Completely different then how I thought it was going to play.

Any Left 4 Dead 2 4-packs going around? I'm not willing to host one, but I wanna give a copy of the game to my bro so we can play together but I'm cheap.

It's good but insanely hard. I got stuck on the third mission and after more than 10 tries I was like "fuck this game"

Fuck this Hoard ticket man. Love the main game but Hoard Mode is tough as nails.
It's pretty easy to get if you abuse the game. In the first map, if you fly to the upper right, knights can't reach you in the water. You just need to take out the magic towers when they pop up while the giants take care of the fireworks for you. You can grab princesses that pass by for health bonuses if you take damage, or just destroy the carriage and let a knight rescue the princess if you're at full health. It takes some time, but not too difficult.

Hmm... it would save us a whole lot of money.

First map, top right corner, two-tile lake where knights can't reach you, just hang out there as long as you can. Trolls practically do the work for you. It's a cheap method for a cheap achievement.
Edit: Beaten very specifically...

How do you make fireworks?

If you destroy a royal carriage, a princess is left behind. If you collect the princess, you gain health. If you leave her there, a knight will pick her up and bring her to a keep and fireworks will go off.

Is there anyone here who seriously has not played Arkham Asylum and is considering passing on it? I find it hard to believe that such a person exists on gaf, unless there are financial considerations in play. Been there.

Me.

No financial considerations just...meh

God, I kept passing on playing, but hot damn, Half Life 2 is pretty good. I stopped on 360 on the water ski level cause it's kind of annoying. Enjoying the hel out of it on PC though

Looking back at the sheer amount of games I've gotten for only 30 dollars over the last week, it's crazy.

I wish console games had massive price cuts like this. My Steam library is very rapidly dwarfing my console library, and it's almost entirely because 99% of what I buy was 50% or more off.

stuck my tongue deep inside Atlus' cookies
Still holding out for an X3: Terran Conflict and Morrowind daily deals - those are the last games of this sale that I've *really* had my eye on.

I still have ~90 things in my wishlist, but my steam wishlist isn't a true "wishlist." It's just like a reminder system for myself - "Yo - don't forget that this game exists." There's a bunch of $2.50 games on it that I probably won't end up buying. Hacker Evolution, Guardians of Graxia, Freedom Force & Freedom Force 2, etc.

My backlog is already crazy and the sale isnt over. I've picked up:

Oblivion- Already played on 360 though
Frozen Synapse- Freaking awesome. My favorite pick-up thus far.
Just Cause 2- Beautiful game. Enjoying it as well
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Knights of the Old Republic

Thinking of Arkham Asylum now. Though it seems if I have to even think about getting it, I must be crazy haha.

I generally try to refrain from hyperbole, but I've come to the conclusion that Batman: AA is the best game I've played in years. The stealth parts are great, the combat is meaty and satisfying and the writing/production values are top notch. Add in the (largely) optional puzzle sequences and challenge modes and you have something for everyone.

It's the first game I've played in a long time that I was sad to see end. It's well worth $7.50.

Loved GTA4 on consoles. Got to a certain part and stopped. Should be fun replaying on PC.

Never played more than 5 minutes of Batman so at least I'll have it in my collection now :p

It is amazing. I'm not a big PC gamer, I'm sure I'll never even get to fifty Steam titles, but I'll have practically every PC game I want for less than £100 by the end of the year, which is incredible.

I'm still waiting for my friend to let me borrow Batman (for PS3 that is). I didn't realize it was such a good game, though I was mainly sitting around watching him play a little bit of it a while back.

Pretty sure I'm straight with games for the foreseeable future on consoles outside of the sports titles.

Got months of shit on Steam that I've genuinely always wanted to play.

I beat 5 or 6 levels before work, didn't find it very hard. Mind you I was getting Silvers so I imagine going for gold medals would be balls out hard. *shrug*
