This.

I thought a terabyte would be enough back when I setup this PC but now I have less than 20 GB left and I don't even have half of my games installed.

Good god how many damn games do you have?

Because new games are getting dumber and dumber. The only vestige for any real depth these days is classic games.

Looks like someone didn't pick up SpaceChem or Frozen Synapse. Maybe there will be an encore Sunday and you can get a second chance!

damn, some of you guys are worst than the dudes at CAG :p

I refuse to buy Arkham Asylum until it comes with benefits.

Anyone who thinks this game should ever cost less than 7.50 is a terrible person.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
That Ambitions expansion for The Sims 3 looks pretty nice, I wish the overall package was a bit cheaper.

Can I install a game from steam, then transfer the files from Steamapps/common/xgamex to an external drive? Would it then be possible to delete the originals and move the files back from the external into the appropriate location when I want to play it?

There are exceptions to the rule and I supported Frozen Synapse (a brilliant game) by buying it full price. SpaceChem looks cool but not really my cup of tea.

The biggest surprise for me is that they are still trying to sell Prototype for $15.00, when they are selling the likes of L4D2 and Batman for a fraction of the price. When I say they, I mean Activision.

For real? If it were $5.00 I would have to think hard about it, but at $15.00 (on sale!) it's like they don't even want anybody to play it.

The bigger the corporation is, the bigger they are obsessed with the idea that their products must be considered "premium". At least that's how it seems to me.

Yes. I think there's an actual backup function you can use that'll compress it as well.

Damn...spent $120 so far. I need to chill out. Still got 3 days left....I can do it!

Also, picked up Jamestown and Sims 3 today. JT is pretty awesome, just with a keyboard it blows hard.

PS - I got a TB of HD space with this new comp, still got 670GB left...the 300GB is pretty much pure games. And I have 44/96 games installed.

Have the developers of Jamestown talked about patching in online mulitplayer of some sort? I'd like to get it but at the same time I don't seem myself playing anytime soon.

4 days actually, I think.

...touché, sir.

So I got 4 days left to spend $70 to stay at my average. There's no shame in lowering my average spending on Steam right? I mean, its not like I'm going to play half these games, even if they are installed....

Holy crap, the Atom Zombie Smasher achievement is tough! With the mods enabled, it's a really fun game. Without them, the difficulty ramps up way too quickly.

Has anyone got the achievement ticket yet?

I think there is a good chance it'll be the same price or lower during the Christmas sale. So you'll probably be safe assuming you know you won't get to play it until then. It's good enough to warrant jumping to the top of the queue though should you feel compelled to get it now ; )

Just remember that the last day is all repeats, so if you got all the dailies you wanted the first time around you don't have to worry about something new catching your eye. The danger on the last day is all the stuff on your wish list that never ended up in the dailies...

I need help deciding. If I were to play L4D or L4D2 but only in single player, which one would you recommend? Are both different enough to warrant buying both?

Still without luck
Wait a minute, Steam sells GFW games??? And Batman GOTY version has separate achievement points from the regular version???

Does Steam sell many other GFW games?

How many gb is the GTA pack?

Does Batman: GOTY edition only support Stereoscopic 3D on PC? Fuck. I was hoping it supported the old style glasses like the console version.

I'm at 252 on steam and around 50 or so others from other DD services. I'm sure there are people here that have many more.

Jeez. I can't imagine having that many damn games. I really can't. But to each their own I guess.

Unfortunately there are a few. GTA IV is another one...and that one is even worse because you have to be signed into the Rockstar Network as well.

The fact that they never bothered incorporating Steam achievements is the one striking point I can think of against Batman PC. I'm still kinda hoping they'll implement them someday.

Would you guys recommend King's Bounty: Crossworlds? I have yet to play Armored Princess, but I already have it on my games list, mind you, and I liked the first game.

L4D2 is better overall because the events are more varied. I like the characters in the first one more, though. I would say go for L4D2, but you should get both if you can.

And yeah, I also play it in single-player most of the time because there are a lot of jerks online

L4D2...but you're really missing out if you dont play online co-op or even versus.

Omzom or L4D GAF steam groups + invites sent = fun.

I have not started either personally, but I have heard that once you grab Crossworlds it actually includes some sort of "director's cut" of Armored Princess, meaning you get an improved version of the first game plus the expansion. I'm not sure if that improved AP launches from AP or CW though, I'm sure somebody who has played them can explain it better.

Fuck it, I took the risk. Batman and GTA IV. If GTA IV doesn't run that well, then oh well. I'm only going to have enough for one more game tho... and that'll be The Witcher if it goes on sale.

Yeah. My list says 247 and that's probably average for most people who have been through a few years of Steam sales.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Lost Planet: Colonies
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage
Quantum of Solace
GTA IV
SFIV
Red Faction: Guerilla
Resident Evil 5
Dirt 2
Lost Planet 2
Bulletstorm
Fable III

and a couple others I likely missed.

It's awesome, yes. SRPG, turn based, grid based battles. Lots of different "soldier" types to use in battle, and lots of hours of playtime. Fun, colorful visuals. One of my favorite games on Steam, actually. Though I bought it on GG.

The thing people neglect to mention with talking about the KB games is just how far they'll go to show you that they don't take the setting seriously. No no, it's a good thing. It's witty and irreverent and unexpected, but none of it is heavy handed.

Really the polar opposite of HoMMs tone.
