Thinkin' about getting Arkham Asylum but it's still a bit much. Maybe if it was closer to $6.99 I'd be more enticed into buying it.

Joke post, right?

I'm not buying it until it's under $5, and i'm serious. It's partly because I want to stop buying things for the sale though, and $7.50 isn't an impulse buy price for me.

Shit, I bought Armoured Princess in hopes of it inventivise me to buy a new PC and it actually works on my shitty laptop. I'm such a wise man....

Still can't run Magicka though.

Looks like nothing for me.

I'd be all over a bunch of these games if I didn't already own them on console.

Your consoles will get outdated and discarded, PC's are forever. Double dip for posterity.

Its cheaper than mcdonalds. I think holding off for 5 dollars is kind of unrealistic. Its not going to get cheaper.

You best reassess your choices in life mister. Batman AA is worth at least $20. It's really fucking good.

Also you'll be waiting for another year or two at least because it was $7.50 last july too, and last xmas as well. It's not going to go any lower.

Anyone have first hand experience with more than one XBL account logging into a GFW game on the same computer? I'm wondering if I buy Batman and log into it/register it with my XBL account, can another XBL account access it afterwards on the same computer. Thanks.

Pretty lame that they recently fixed whatever was blocking Linksys routers from connecting to Spiral Knights only to break it again with today's patch.

Pretty much sold on Left 4 Dead and trying to convince my friend to pick it up.

How's Killing Floor, though? Seems pretty similar.

Trust me. I've been thinking about it.

I already have a retail copy of Far Cry 2 on PC, so I'm set there.

I generally try to refrain from hyperbole, but I've come to the conclusion that Batman: AA is the best game I've played in years. The stealth parts are great, the combat is meaty and satisfying and the writing/production values are top notch. Add in the (largely) optional puzzle sequences and challenge modes and you have something for everyone.

It's the first game I've played in a long time that I was sad to see end. It's well worth $7.50.
I have to agree with this. I didn't play it until earlier this year and I was completely blown away. It is definitely one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite, game of this generation.

How many games do people realistically replay many years later? I'll grab Mirror's Edge when it's on sale probably, a few games like that, but there's very little I'd consider double dip quality.

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Really regret not picking up Wings of Prey + DLC yesterday. I decided to hold off to see what these last few days had, but thinking about it some more, there isn't much left I really have to have anyway. And today has nothing I didn't already play. Oh well.

It's incredibly rare that I'll replay a game.

My backlog is fucking disgusting at this point.

Plus, I'm downloading the Journey beta as I type this.

I do all the time. I spend a fairly crazy amount of time playing the really old stuff I get off of GOG for instance.

Haven't bought anything from Steam for a long time (though I constantly revisit faves such as KOTOR, Outrun, Recettear). However, this old school shooter fan just picked up Jamestown and is quite happy with it.

I barely replay games. Why should I? I have other games I need to beat.

Because new games are getting dumber and dumber. The only vestige for any real depth these days is classic games.

Is there a chance for the publisher packs to get even cheaper or will they stay the same price throughout the sale?

I'm new to Steam sales, heh.

Different in almost every way, really.

KF pits your team of 6 in a map and sends waves of baddies at you. It's pretty much a shooting gallery game, with a basic weapon/gear purchasing system like Counter Strike.

You battle up to the final wave, face the boss, and move on to the next map.

All the while, there is a global persistent character leveling system. Also a class system with bonuses and such.

It's great mindless fun. Lots, and I mean lots, of user made custom maps. Some are really good, some are shit. Servers have sussed the good ones out and you won't typically run into bad maps.

There's an active community, plenty of servers (US) and lots of people playing.

It's worth the regular price IMO. You'll almost assuredly like it if what I describe above sounds good to you. I've put like 50 hours into it and I play casually. It's a great pick-up-and-play game.

L4D is a whole different sort of game.

Even if a game is completely vapid, I'd rather experience something new.

King's Bounty good?

It's awesome, yes. SRPG, turn based, grid based battles. Lots of different "soldier" types to use in battle, and lots of hours of playtime. Fun, colorful visuals. One of my favorite games on Steam, actually. Though I bought it on GG.

what the fuck else do i want? a 7.5usd price point since the game came out in 09 and they need to promote the new sequel :p $15 is way too much for that game on Steam.

7.50? Should be $5

So where does that leave Jamestown?
I'm not a bullet hell guy personally, but in terms of retro styled games, I'm not sure, I don't care about Megaman 9/10, but you could argue Super Meat Boy could have been made a long time ago, and is truly wonderful. It's far from vapid though, I'm sure Jamestown is the same.

I personally don't get anything out of a game being difficult, it doesn't make me like it more or less.

The biggest surprise for me is that they are still trying to sell Prototype for $15.00, when they are selling the likes of L4D2 and Batman for a fraction of the price. When I say they, I mean Activision.

For real? If it were $5.00 I would have to think hard about it, but at $15.00 (on sale!) it's like they don't even want anybody to play it.

It's definitely worth the money.

And, if you care about such things, it's a good company to support. Regular updates, community map packs are routinely updated into the game, developers (tripwire) are always in contact with the community, etc.

It's also a UT2004 engine game so it will run well on older systems. And it has a metal soundtrack. :)

Shit, why not make it free? We gamers are ENTITLED to receive these games for pennies...no, LESS than pennies!

Why, they should pay me to play it.
