I'd be up for a Tomb Raider sale, been wanting those games for a while.
The square enix sale? has more of the good Tomb Games.

I would buy that but i don't have time to play all that stuff. Why buy stuff you wont play, its a fucking waste of money.

I stuck to this rule as well. I ended up buying Toki Tori, SpaceChem, Magicka, Defense Grid, Beat Hazard and Rush so far for tickets, but most of them were already on my wishlist. There were a couple that weren't but I have been happy with all of my purchases still.

*insert high five .jpg*

Now we wait to get our top 10 games from our wishlist. Serious question: Anyone here win their top 10 games last time around?

So any reason to pick up Jamestown? Is it one of those indie gems? (Ps I don't really care too much for shumps -- Steampunk style is a bonus though)

I've got 13 tickets. And lots I can't be motivated to get even though I wouldn't have to buy anything.

Doesn't help that I've got 4 tickets waiting to claim a prize and I don't want anything. Not even Alien Breed can tempt me. Sure, it's free, but I won't play it and it'll be forever in my library. That's not "free."
What?

Come on Fallout 3, you can go on sale!

It's 8.95 on D2D right now, and so far D2D's prices have consistently been higher than Valve's when comparing Summer Sale vs. Summer Sale. So that inspires hope.

elektrixx said:
I thought that already happened on day one or so.

There was an Oblivion sale on the first day, and a Fallout New Vegas sale on another day, but no Fallout 3 sale yet.

I'm not buying anything on D2D unless it's Steamworks

So I'm just going to wait patiently.

So, Batman AA is a Games for Windows Live product... God damnit. Still going to try playing without making an account, if it really doesn't let me save then I don't even know...

Downloaded the demo to Batman and I'm having a weird glitch. After the initial opening dialogue and Batman starts to fight the bad guys, flat plane geometry fills the screen to the point of me not being able to see anything. I don't know if it's light maps or what. I restarted my system and it seemed to fix it, but only until I left that area and went into a new one. Makes me a little worried about purchasing the full game. Any ideas?

GfWL and Securom (and yes, I know about the unlimited activations) makes this a non purchase for me.

Alien Breed co-op can be done offline. Play single-player and finish the first three chapters and you should get it.

I did it the old fashion way though. Found a really good coop partner. If it doesn't unlock in single-player, I can be your coop partner.

That said: I REFUSE TO PAY FOR HOMEFRONT! (Unless someone gifts/sells it to me for cheap).

I'm in the same situation. I can get only 47 (with 3 I have yet to do) and won't contemplate getting Homefront for anything beyond 10 bucks.

I'd be a bit depressed if in the end, there was a bonus for getting all the chievos and the only one I missed was HF though.

You know, I can sort of understand GFWL etc. if I'm not already playing the game through some other system like steam. This is some inception level bullshit, where I need to go deeper and deeper each time I wish to play a game I own the digital rights to.

That being said, Batman AA is completely useless if you refuse to make an account so I made an offline one. Hopefully that isn't too intrusive.

edit: BTW, those who own AA on steam: Is version 1.0 the GOTY edition with all the bells and whistles, or do I have to manually upgrade it for some reason?

What is this thing about not being able to save without a GFWL account? I bought BioShock 2 and I heard it was for GFWL and I don't have an account for it.

I bought the original Far Cry since it was only $2.50, always wanted to try that one. Also i would have bought Atom zombie Smasher too but i'm quickly running out of money and Morrowind hasn't been a daily deal yet so...

It's means there's a cost: One more piece of garbage cluttering the list. If you're not going to play it, what's the point?
Okay, but that 'cost' is incredibly low. Unless you are some sort of OCD freak. It would then be a problem.

It'll be whatever version was current at the time you downloaded it. Wikipedia says it's at 1.1, so that's what the Steam version will be at.

Edit: It comes with the GoTY content if that's what you were asking. There's no separate DLC page from which to install it, so it comes as part of the initial download.

I bought Batman AA at last year's Holiday Sale.

I stopped playing because the DRM was so fucked up that it prevented me from starting the game half of the time.

At least in Batman AA, you have to be logged in your GFWL account if you want to save the game or continue from where you last quit. Seems like it can be an Offline account though, doesn't seem to cause much hassle. Took me a minute to make it.

Thanks! Yeah, I checked the content and it's the goty version 1.0. Must be the right one since that's the one downloaded and installed by Steam.

I made a list called "Sucks" and just hid it so that stuff doesn't bother me

I guess that means Batman: AA GoTY is considered separate to the standard edition, which was patched to 1.1 in September '09. So, Batman: AA GoTY is at 1.0, yet contains whatever was patched in the standard game at 1.1.

Alright. I still got my extra copy of Frozen Synapse and I am willing to gift it to whoever gifts me L4D2. If you're interested in doing this trade, drop me a PM.

Hmmm... what to get today?

Jamestown seems like a goer, hereing positive stuff, and looks kind of cute.

I'm going to take a risk on this one based on what I've heard.

Not sure about Atom Zombie Smashers... seems like a love it/hate it thing... but I guess I'll find out shortly.

Played the demo and... sold!

So, todays damage:

Atom Zombie Smashers
Jamestown
Flight Control HD (because I play it on friends phones every now and then)

Oh man Flight Control HD is awesome, such a simple concept but it's executed pretty damn well. Also i unlocked the summer achievement for it but i wasn't playing on the stunt map, i think i stumbled into a bug or something which is weird, oh well.

I had that happen too. I played stunt map like mad too thinking "game must be bugged or I'm doing it wrong". I look in my achievements list I find I unlocked it before I unlocked the level *shugs*.

Everybody buy Jamestown before its too late. It's the best designed shmup, in regards to difficulty curve, achievements and unlocks that I've played. It also has a batshit crazy story-line and a killer soundtrack.

Whenever I see that free Alien Breed 2, I can't imagine but think that it was Valve's way of saying "Sorry on behalf of our new employees for creating Alien Swarm which was originally released as an Unreal mod in 2004, which ripped off Alien Breed, which is a sequel to Alien Breed from 1991 which ripped off Alien Syndrome in 1987 which ripped off Alien: The Movie... You know what. Fuck this complication. Here's Alien Breed 2 available for free to all."

Yep. I did that one the hard way but it unlocked for my wife's account before she even unlocked the stunt map. She also got the play a demo ticket achievement even though she doesn't have a single demo downloaded or linked to her account.

The music that plays at the results screen at the end of a level is incredible :D

The last stage is my favorite. So damn good. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgWfWWMQiCg)

Foco, the composer, states on that thread that they are working on bringing the soundtrack out soon. Hopefully they do a similar deal as the Frozen Synapse guys and bring us a loss-less soundtrack to go along with the presumable .mp3 one.

Atom Zombie Smasher is actually a pretty cool game. Polish, good presentation, nice art style.

Also runs in a coffee machine, it even has netbook mode.

Damn. I'm getting < 100 KB/s in Japan. Good thing I'm downloading the conveniently small Jamestown!
is it your connection or the server? i switch servers a lot during sales. i was getting 90kbps on this server last night so i switched to greenland/iceland for 900kbps.

So, what are people spending their tickets on? What's the general consensus of value here?

First things I got were the Sunglasses, Alien Breed (which is an actual game) and the snorkel.

Now i'm just going to fill out stuff for games I happen to own.

After that i dunno.

I hear though you don't really want the Dwarfs one, because you can get it free by completing achievements in-game.

That's good to know about the Dwarfs. I was looking at the Serious Sam characters, but it's hard to spend tickets on them without screenshots. It would have been nice if they let us see them up close.
