So I hate comic books, but I have a hard on have a strong appreciation for Ken Levine and Irrational's other work.

Should I check out Freedom Force?

Yes, it's quite good.

I'm still on the fence though since I'm waiting for it to be one of the daily deal.

I wasn't too much into the idea of buying Atom Zombie Smasher.
I tried the game and sucked at it. And yet somehow I felt compelled to keep playing.

So I got the game, hopefully I won't be regretting this.

To Sims or not to Sims, I really enjoyed playing Sims2 but I'm not sure whether to pick Sims3 up now or wait ? Is it worth £10 ?

Planning to get the Sims 3 but content wise is any of the expansions considered essential? I heard that vanilla Sims 3 is pretty bare bones in term of items.

Try turning on stuff like being able to pick what mercenaries you bring to battle and being able to take 5 with you, then gradually take those away.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
So I got GTAIV installed and was going to try to play it some. And up until this point I've avoided all games with Games for Windows Live but I've never really believed the myths of how bloaty and malwareish it was supposed to be. But it is. It is. I've spent the last 20 minutes making accounts and changing passwords. Never again. Batman, see you on the PS3.

Man I'm kinda looking at Killing Floor and I can't make up my mind. Same with the Atom game but it doesn't look like my cup of tea.

Can I do KF achievements outside of the Abusement Park map?
Probably you know right now, but yes, you can.

I've bought Atom Zombie Smasher after playing the demo and spend a bit more of expected playing it at night. As a result, I haven't slept that much :p, but the game is awesome.

I didn't manage to get the achievement on the first year, got it on the second one but then I lost that campaign :( . But I think I'll win on my second run, I had 5400 points.

I've also bought Jamestown after reading some reviews. I hope the game is as awesome as it is sold. I love buying indie games so cheap and founding them better than a lot of "retail" games.

Anyone of you who can convince some friends to play killing floor (at least 4), convince them and buy it! It's the game I play the most with my friends, lots of custom maps, and lots of hours lost levelling up the perks and going into harder difficulty modes.

If any of you bought Mount and Blade: Warband, I recommend to look at the for multiplayer: CRPG mod . You level up your own character like you do in single player, you can buy lots of items, etc. The only downside at the moment is that you have to modify a file to get it working (there was a stealth update for warband only on steam, so now it is "not compatible"). If you have problems to install it properly, you can send me a PM asking for more details.

To be fair, GTA4 on PC is one of the worst examples because it uses two additional online services on top of it. Once GFWL is set-up, it is easy to use and not noticable anymore.

My wallet obliteration hasn't been all too horrible as of yet. Only spent 60 euros thus far. Then again, the main reason for this is that I already own most of the games on sale from previous sales. DAMN IT, GABE! How am I supposed to purchase games when you're not releasing enough of them? :'(

Heh. Have you been trying out the MP? like cRPG? I played that like crazy when I first started. Same with the SP too lol
Haven't tried out crpg mod yet, though there is an active server for it.

Might check it out once I get more familiar with the mechanics in SP.

Quick question.

If I want to back up my games, is it best to use the official back up and do each game separately or just copy the steam folder with them all in?

Is the difference the fact that saves are copied in the official backup?

Either one should work. Just moving the steamapps folder I noticed, at least in winxp, games wont show as installed in add/remove programs if that would bug you(bugged the hell out me lol). The backup feature in Steam WILL NOT back up saves, you'll have to do that manually.

Man, Monday Night Combat is awesome. Previously I played MNC a bit during the last free weekend and before this sale I hadn't played any tower defence games so it was kind of an overwhelming experience. It still sort of is but I'm coming to grips with what you can do and expect from the various classes, all of the power ups, the environment, the defences, the different kinds of robots and it's a lot of fun.

Salsa speaks the truth.

Atom Zombie Smasher is one of the best deals so far.

If you think it's hard etc just start a new campaign and use "Casual" and the options for more mercenaries/map so you can get a feel for the different strategies before upping the difficulty.

Is it possible to connect a DS3 via bluetooth to my laptop and play all the Steam games I just purchased? Also if so, will it work well?

Motioninjoy can emulate your controller to a 360 one. Since some games have native 360 pad support it will work on them flawlessly, however some games do not have native 360 pad support.

My intuition tells me that Terraria will be on sale for 50% or less tomorrow. There may be a Mass Effect sale as well. Maybe a Tomb Raider sale too. I think a last gen series sale will be there, most likely Max Payne or Morrowind.

Bought Gothic 4 and found I can't force vsync. Tried CCC, RadeonPro and D3DOverider. Game is forcing my CF 6970 to run at max load => heat => loud fan noise. Anyone know of a workaround?

If you want a no-hassle bluetooth connection, just get the BT adaptor they're supporting. It takes a while to arrive but using the DS3 wirelessly is pretty fun.

We got over most of the "always on Steam sales" stuff, best part starts now.

Except for Mafia II and Supreme Commander 2, wich will probably be there tomorrow.

Haha, Killing Floor runs pretty crappy on my laptop, I should have guessed.

Anyway, here's hoping Gratuitous Space Battles comes up so I don't have to buy it for 10 dollars...

That's the best part. Jamestown is easy on normal but is very challenging on the higher difficulties. The gloves really come off in the final level though.
