What the hell? It launched at 39.99. What are you talking about.

Also Dead Rising 2 is a lot of fun on PC. Great co-op.
£13 preorder on Amazon in UK land. I believe it was cheaper at other sites, too.

That was a fair price for the game, I think. I played it non-stop for an entire week after I got it.

We have 9 tickets today. Time to replay Poker Night at the Inventory.

I may get Audiosurf and some Tomb Raider game. Also, it's probably time I get Garry's Mod and the Penny Arcade games... there not gonna get any lower right?
I'm such a cheap bastard
WAIT FOR DAILY DEALS. The games will still be there on the last day... (unless it's Prey)

Dead Rising 2 was less than $20 at launch?

I seem to remember paying $50 for it.

It's also well worth $20, as it's a fantastic open world game with some unique mechanics, an absurd sense of humor, and should appeal to anyone who likes to beat up zombies or horror comedy.
Yeah, it was 39.99 at launch. Don't know what they were talking about.

both Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2 were launched @ $39 on PC.

capcom never does anything more than 50% off unfortunately.

the only time i saw something from them for less was the Devil May Cry 4 mistake last Xmas sale for $4.99 ...which i was lucky to grab.

they fixed the price later on to $9.99.

Is tomb raider legend any good, playing through anniversary right now, seems ok. better or worse?
It's a bit less solitary experience with background chatter going on, and there's more shooting mercenaries. I like Anniversary a little better, but Legend is still pretty good, so if you want more TR, sure.

If you do buy Legend, you might want to leave the "next-gen" mode off, it looks awful.

And yeah, Guardian of Light at 3,74 euros is a steal. I would gladly have paid 15 for that at launch if they only had implemented the online bit by then.

Well, Command and Conquer is an age old series. CNC3/KW were the last "amazing" entries in the series. Single player is very good and skirmish is a lot of fun.

I would definitely recommend Kane's Wrath for the campaign (which is kind of hard) and the cool subfactions.

Does anyone know if the $10 Rift sale includes the first month subscription?

I never played and feel like giving it a shot, even if I don't continue after this month.

Nice. Is ToV any good or should I just skip it? Heard MP really only has unlockable vehicles (I heard aren't that great) and the SP isn't good at all.
To tell you the truth, only Vanilla is any good.

Opposing Fronts added new armies which killed any kind of Balance the game had. If you're against a good Panzer Elite/Brittish player, and you're not using one of the new armies, you'll most likely lose.

Tales of Valor added three new game modes, Panzerkrieg (you control a tank, pretty much like a hero unit, and upgrade it with points won by killing the other players), Assault (You and your buddies hold out wave after wave, building up your base and defenses against 20 waves of enemies) and... the other mode which I forget (where you select a infantary hero unit and level it up by killing other players/"creeps", DOTA like).

I like them modes, but the community rarely plays them. You also get 2 new vehicles each army, and I believe that at least one of them in each army is very useful. They can change the way you play that particular army.

I hate Opposing Fronts much more than Tales of Valor.

Company of Heroes Online was a much better game. Too bad it was cancelled after the Beta. The Matchmaking engine was much, MUCH better there also. I don't know why they didn't port it to regular CoH. Here's hoping.

RA3: Uprising is pretty awful. In case anyone's thinking about it, just get RA3.

I can't speak to the quality as I haven't played it yet, but it's also somewhere around an 11GB download on Steam. Presumably because they needed to include all of the RA3 core files as well.

Just wanted to mention that in case it helps anyone make a purchasing decision.

Are there any Sactum 4-packs left? I thought I got in on one, but I guess not. If not, I'll just pay the extra $1.28 for a single copy. LOL!

Also, how is Rift? I got some ticket for a hat in Rift from TF2.

Not much of interest for me today....been thinking about grabbing the two TR games I don't have but I'd rather get the HD pack on console (yes, yes, I'm a heathen, I know). I would be all over Quake 4...but of course it isn't on Steam. feh

Sanctum is a must-buy for me...I may grab Cities XL if it gets a lot of raves here but it doesn't strike me as something I really need to play.

Might get Cities XL. A nice calm city building game sounds enjoyable right now.

It is good, right?
I bought it when it was the daily and played it for a few hours. I wrote a long-winded impression of it but if you aren't looking for it to be compared to Simcity, it's a good place to start. Performance sucks out the ass though regardless of your PC.

(also the post says it uses Starforce, I fail at typing, I meant SecuROM)

Seriously, you got fleeced. It was mega cheap at pre-order on PC. Consoles, of course, was a different story.

Guardian of Light get!
Risen...hmm, maybe.

Otherwise I can really recommend Company of Heroes for all the strategy gafers out there.

Think Sanctum is the only game for me today. Gonna skip yet again on the Guardian of the Light. Just not my kinda game.

So is Men of War a vastly superior game to Company of Heroes if you like the old time Close Combat games? I already own and love the Men of War games but CoH seems to get pretty good reviews. I don't ever play multi-player in these types of games though.

Agree that vanilla is the best. I have to disagree with you on the OF factions though, they did screw up the balance but they have been significantly nerfed since release and are easily the weakest factions now.

If you've played MMOs before and feel like dipping $10 into Rift, then by all means do it because it is an enjoyable MMO. But I highly suggest to simply let the free month wade past before you even contemplate on placing a subscription down.

I've never played the Quake games. Worth it for the single player?

Not really IMO. I like playing the single player sometimes, but that's probably more nostalgia than anything unless you really love Doom. Quake 3 Arena is worth it for multiplayer, though it's pretty hardcore at this point.

Pennies?? Yay hyperbole!

Why are all of the other titles going for what you consider to be "pennies" then? Are none of them AAA titles with high production values? Are none of them wildly successful during Steam Sales? Your logic is off, and at least for myself, I will never buy those Capcom games when they are priced like they are, sales or not. I expect that is the same for many many other people as well.

Was going to get C&C4 and then saw the terrible reviews.

C&C3 has way better reviews and is only $6. Worth it to someone trying to get into RTS games?
I think every C&C game before C&C3 is amazing, and C&C3 is pretty damn good and I think you'd do well to try and play at least one of those games if you're trying to get into RTSs.

I also enjoyed C&C4 once I had everything unlocked but it is definitely vastly inferior.

Anybody need someone for a Sanctum 4-pcak, I can even host, US here. PM me.

*edit*

Also, how do I download a trailer on here? All I've ever seen are the streaming ones, and don't even know where to look.

I played Risen for a bit on the 360, and liked it, but I heard the ending was quite unsatisfactory. Can anyone confirm this?

Risen on the PC is a different experience gameplay wise (hint: it's better) but, yes, the ending is pretty bad. In fact, the game kind of loses its luster after about Chapter 2 (out of 4 Chapters total). It is still a very enjoyable game, though.

Risen 2 looks fantastic as well!

I know the rule, but I don't see this games getting cheaper (they already have a big discount).

I'll wait anyway :lol
