hmm I wonder if I can grab the DLC up for grabs in the booth without owning the game...

I'm going to have to spend those tickets somewhere and chances are I'll buy FotW somewhere down the line

My understanding is that yes, you can.

Any other Lara Croft games worth buying other then Guardian of Light?

also Fate of the World, yay/nay?

Fate of the World is a strategy card game about global warming. There's plenty of challenge and you make really interesting choices about where to deploy your resources and how to handle social, environmental, and technological problems humanity faces going into the 21st century in an attempt to keep living standards high but carbon footprint low.

If that sounds like it's up your alley, it's pretty awesome. It's well produced and has a good score and the artwork is more than serviceable. The problem is I don't think there are that many people interested in managing an organization whose goal is to keep global warming in check through a turn-based, card-based videogame. The game also is a little preachy, so if you absolutely hate the environment or global warming that will turn you off to the game pretty quickly. But if any of what I've said interests you at all, I definitely think it's at least worth checking out.

Trenched kind of soured me on Sanctum, same concept just executed so much better. I think even Iron Grip: Warlord does it better. I'd definitely recommend playing the trial before blind buying, even at $3.75.
Okay, if Trenched is a better Tower Defense hybrid than Sanctum, I'll pass. Thanks, you just saved me some money!

Which is the best CNC out of those? I used to heavily be into red alert 2 and generals, but stopped playing after that.

Thoughts? Me and some friends need some game to play online

Someone on the steam group noted Lara Croft has two left feet and Chun Li has two right ones on the pictures. Now I can't unsee.

Capcom's like Activision. "Let's take up one spot with a moderately-reduced game and call it a daily deal!"
No activision today so Capcom had to step up and take two spots.

They changed Risen to -66% now on the front page. lame.
Well, no Risen for me then.

Anyways, picking up Sanctum.

Also how is Quake anyways? I mean 1 and 2. I never played either, but I recently got a fix on Doom and curious about those.

Your argument is still invalid though. The suggested retail price was 39.99. Capcom put it out at 39.99. By putting it on sale today at 19.99 that is 50% off.

Just because certain retailers decided to sell it for less than that pre-launch does not mean Capcom is not pulling some "Shitty Practice" or A "Fucking insult" at all. Why on Earth would they base their discounts on certain retailers price? You're crazy man.

You got a deal, and you're clearly proud as all hell to brag and gloat about that. But really, this is about Steam. Not some site that you got a boxed copy from for cheaper. Sure it could have been discounted to 4.99 so all the entitled lads could scoop it up without thinking. But it's half off what it usually is on Steam.
My argument for why it's a hilarious rubbish 'deal' is exactly the same as why Capcom making SF4 a 'deal' at $9.99 is making everyone else laugh - it isn't worth that much and it has been cheaper in the past.

HNNGHHNNN!

I want to buy risen and Laura croft but I have $26.48. If I buy them I will be left with $15.25 and I'm still holding up for bulletstorm. WHAT TO DO! Im afraid bulletstorm will be 19.99.
You will have more fun with those two games.

Who's the gal on the left?

Ha, yeah. I hear ya. I have much respect for CK. Just have my eye on the id stuff because I'm in the mood for an oldschool "turn off your brain" FPS.

Valve is still working on getting their patching system improved right? Instead of just downloading the files that are different, it'll actually patch them properly? (no lol 9GB Witcher 2 patches, etc.)
The CoH patching problem has only to do with Relic, not Valve.

Just bought Rift and GoL. At $35-$36 so far. Gotta be my best sale thus far, truly only bought the games that looked like I'd play all the way through. My wallet thanks me.

Old school western CRPG fans need to check out the Eschalon games if they haven't already. I don't think they've ever gone on sale, and they are at a really great price right now. I highly doubt they will be a daily deal because they are already so low.
Good to see one more man over here, who enjoyed the series.

Is Poker Night at the Inventory going to get cheaper than it already is (maybe daily deal in the next days)? Also, would you recommend it? It looks like fun poker game. Is there single player and/or multiplayer?

It has a 69/100 on metacritic. Why so low?

If you look at the reviews they pretty much all say the same thing:

It is fun but it doesn't have enough content for the cost.

I think that is pretty much address here in two ways:

1) Since the games released there is more content and now 4 player co-op.

2) It's $3.60 a copy!

I think it was the best seller on its day so maybe. Or it might have been #2 can't remember.

Nice, thanks. Bought the game on ps3, but never got far in it. Craving for a loot game!
*fingers crossed*

Half-life 1 was $.99 for a day. Does that mean anyone buying it now is getting completely ripped off at $6.60?

I can't imagine it will go lower than 3 bucks but you never know.

It's okay. I thought it was a fun distraction for a couple of hours but I'm inexperienced enough with poker that the crappy AI didn't bother me so much until I figured out the behavior of each opponent (they basically telegraph it and never change it up). I don't think there's any multiplayer, and it's very poorly optimized.

Are all 3 CoH games worth it?

I see the first two have very high scores but Tales of Valor drops off a bit.
If you want them for the single-player yes. If you want them for the multiplayer, no, just Tales of Valor because it comes with all factions for multiplayer.

CNC3 + KW are great Command and Conquer games. If you like Command and Conquer and haven't played those you should get them.

Also, be sure to turn on left-click orders in the options menu if you're used to the old school C&C games.

It's even worst in Europe, costs 15 euros around here.

I played Risen for a bit on the 360, and liked it, but I heard the ending was quite unsatisfactory. Can anyone confirm this?

The game has 4 acts. The first 2 last about 30 hours while the next 2 are about 10 hours in total. It starts out as a wonderful Gothic style RPG where you can basically free roam the island and do whatever quests you want. The latter part of the game turns into a very linear, dungeon crawling hack & slash. It's not bad as such but in comparison to the first 2 acts it's pretty weak. The game is totally worth it for the first 30 hours though... At this price, it's a steal.

I'm kind of overwhelmed by fantasy RPGs now. Would Risen be a waste of money and time if I already have these?

Dragon Age I: Ultimate Edition
Gothic II & III + Forsaken Gods
Neverwinter Nights 2
The Elder Scrolls III & IV
The Witcher 1

Crap, so Risen was actually cheaper earlier? That's what I get for waking up later. :-\

I want to buy it but as was discussed earlier in the week, has any one found out of the activations can be revoked in any way? It's got some pretty bad DRM.
