This is a long shot, but does anybody have an extra copy of Frozen Synapse they would want to trade me for Left 4 Dead 2? PM if you can help me out. Thanks.

Is Rift a one time buy like Guild Wars, or is it a monthly/yearly subscription?

Is DR2 worth it at 20 dolllars?

Is Risen worth it at 10 dollars?

Not saying it's not worth it. I paid $30 for it and it was completely worth it. Still, they shouldn't raise the price 10 minutes into the sale...those buying afterwards will feel cheated and may not buy it.

I've always assumed pricing errors are Steams mistakes. Like, they were supposed to type in 66, but they accidentally typed in 75. I can't imagine it went up as 75, Deep Silver saw it, freaked out, contacted Steam, told them to raise the price all in the 5 minutes before it was fixed.

Hey guys, I just bought a new laptop and I tried logging into my steam account... it sent me a code to my email to verify and added this to the list of PCs that can access my Steam account. But then when I try to sign in, it says I can't, and that there is a problem with my connection or with Steam... any ideas?

Yup that's what I'm experiencing. Using my brother's laptop.

I don't really understand this. Could you please provide more detail?

When selecting characters, from the middle row (Pro characters - medium), select Pointman Pro.

When selecting songs, select the one you want, or just click on Audiosurf Radio tab, and play Audiosurf Overture -- Pedro Macedo Camacho.

Next, randomly fill the stacks, then wait in the marked areas:

Monthly subscription like most MMOs.

People seem to forget pricing errors during Steam sales happen all the time. This isn't the developer trying to be evil.

RA3: Uprising is pretty awful. In case anyone's thinking about it, just get RA3.

What's bad about Red Alert 3: Uprising? I don't play muliplayer in RTS games so it's not a negative not having it. How is it for a sp RTS?

Guys, are the catalogs worth the money? Only one that has my attention is the THQ pack because I'm interested in some of the games and I wouldn't mind trying some of the others out. Plus I've always wondered about those Warhammer games. $50 is a good chunk of cash but that is a lot of games for that price. As far as today's sales, meh...

THQ pack is definitely worth it if you like those games and don't own most of them. Same goes for the Telltale pack. I missed the original Telltale complete pack from either last summer or xmas '09, I snapped it up the first day this time.

Hmm, bought Risen before I realized there was not only an activation limit, but that the limit is 3.

It's a shame it has that horrible DRM, would have bit at 75% with it. I already got a refund for Two Worlds 2, earlier this week because the 3 activation limit with no revokes wasn't listed on the store page.

Monthly subscription. Probably not worth it unless you want to play WoW, but not WoW.

Is DR2 worth it at 20 dolllars?

Unless you want to play it immediately, I'd wait until a Christmas sale. It's a pretty cool game, but you'd be better off checking out the first one if you have an Xbox 360.

Is Risen worth it at 10 dollars?

YES! It's a fantastic 3rd person exploration-focused action RPG! One of the best games of 2009.

The new code thing is normal, happens all the time when logging in on a different PC. The "problem with connection" thing is not normal, but it is not uncommon either. Steam's servers are probably getting hammered right now, what with thousands of people downloading trailers or full games or both all at the same time. Connection errors and timeouts are to be expected during this event, so just try again.

Edit: Actually, it just won't let me log in to Steam period.

This is the problem with Steam DRM. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I am completely unable to play any of my games. It's not giving me an option to start in offline mode, it's just saying try again. And this is why I prefer one time online activation, the server has to work once, not every time I want to play my game.

Ah ok, thanks. I'll try a bit later. :)

Gaffers. Question.
I have 6 bucks left on my wallet and I can spend it on:

- Toki Tori
- Harvest: Massive Encounter
- Audiosurf

or

- Aquaria

What do you recommend?

Ok finally got the audiosurf achievement. I kinda cheated, I used a super long and slow song to make it easier.

Should I get Alien Breed 2 the full game redeem, or should I get Snorkels to wear in Portal 2 co-op?

Risen is amazing! Bought it for 15 in a previous sale, and got 39 hours worth of pure joy. Most cohesive open world RPG out there, cause the world is small enough to not feel barren.

Now I just need some more opinions about Risen.

Cheesy-ass B-grade presentation for a really fun WRPG. It's A much better Gothic 4 than the real Arcania: Gothic 4. Worth getting, I'd say.

Of those, only Audiosurf is today's daily. Why not get just that and see what the next few days hold for dailies?

Go back a few pages (around the time today's sale started) for more impressions. Or just search "Risen" in the search bar.

I have earned 27 tickets this far. I should have 29 by the end of the night. I am going to get the serious sam characters and then the mission packs to games I don't own. :p

Hmm, I'd never heard of this Harvest: Massive Encounter.. looks kinda cool.

Anyway, I'd wait for 2 or 3 more days, something else might pop up that you really want, and if you miss Audiosurf for $1.50, you're really not missing much.

While it's a shame about the slightly upped price and the DRM, the game is absolutely fantastic. The story is okay, the voice acting is decent, the combat is simplistic, and the character models/animations leave something to be desired, but the game offers something many RPGs don't: exploration. The world is hand crafted, and it shows. There are lots of caves and areas blocked off by difficult enemies. You will feel compelled to explore the world and discover all of the hidden nooks and treasures it has to offer. Find a cave that is too tough for you now? Come back in a few hours when you're strong enough to defeat the enemies it holds. There is a linear, yet branching storyline that encourages at least a second playthrough, as well. The game is about 25 hours long.

Buy.

Is Beep any good? Kind of pricey for an indie game during a steam sale but the videos look nice.

All of you Risen lovers are forgetting my favorite part: the main character is randomly a dead ringer in look and voice for Ewan McGregor.
