For those wanting a DOWII Gold Pack on sale, it's like $16USD on amazon, which is pretty reasonable and I would imagine close to what Steam would sell it for. It activates on Steam.

Awesome, thanks for letting us know. I've been waiting for this.

Amneisac: Are you sure the Gold Pack activates on Steam? According to the retail CD keys they do not, and from what I recall, I could be wrong, but aren't these games GFWL? I think I remember them dumping GFWL for Steam when they released Retribution. Anyway, if I'm wrong, please let me know where/how I can see a game is activated on steam if according to the store page it lacks Steamworks.

The Gold Edition containing Dawn of War 2 and DoW2 Chaos Rising is actually 13,39€ ($20.09) on Steam right now. So yeah, if it does activate on Steam, it'll save a few.

Dirt 3 a big sale at 33 percent off.

*Yawn* That's almost what Codemasters' racing games used to cost at launch (pre-Dirt 3) with the 10 percent pre-order bonus. Capcom and EA are looking better in comparison. Big publishers get an F on their summer midterms.

Seems interesting. So if I buy it, do you get a Steam code or is that coming later?
You still have to buy through them but it looks like they are working on getting a Steam key for everyone who buys it. Still, have never used google checkout but if they can use steam for windows people to get their updates I'd finally be willing to buy a license.

I'm hoping you guys can please help me out here. Does anyone know of a free game profiler/keyboard emulator that will allow me to map my wireless 360 controller (and hopefully the chat pad too) for use with deus ex?

I just can't get the hang of using the kb for the movement controls and it's killing the game for me. Sneaking around as well as jumping and running or walking and crouching is near impossible for me... I admit it, the ease of console controllers for player movement has ruined me.

I literally just activated DoWII Gold Edition on Steam two nights ago after buying it off Amazon. Weird thing is I'm in USA, but the box said PEGI 16. Either way it worked. There's a steam thread that shows they had problems with those retail keys at first, but it was fixed soon after.

Again, I can 100% guarantee it for all regions, but it worked for me two nights ago.

I wonder what would happen to my save games if I got Fallout 3 GOTY if I already have Fallout 3 vanilla.

Another way to ask this is, will I have two entries for Fallout 3?

Well, since FO3 GOTY is going to be a daily deal, here come the inevitable FO3 vs FNV posts.

FNV is the better one

I'll try it out when I get home.

Is there a good reason to not play both? Serious question. I skipped NV earlier in the week because I wanted to play 3 first.

Is the regular Fallout 3 also going to be on sale? I've heard Fallout 3 GOTY edition has a few bugs.

Doesn't look that way. The rest of the franchise and FO3 vanilla aren't in the daily.

FO3 was more epic (with your character since birth).

FNV was more well polished.

FO3 plays very much like a Bethesda game with good exploration, every location has a purpose (though some might say it's theme-park-y in a sense), while FNV has much better gameplay (iron sights, crafting, etc.) and is a much better RPG (setting, characters, etc.)

I actually preferred Fallout 3, but it was my first game in the Fallout series. I actually beat it twice and played a few of the DLC episodes, but never got through NV all the way. They're both excellent games though.

The 3-4 second pause every time you start VATS is beyond annoying. Not sure if there's a fix or not, but it was enough to make me stop playing

Every Gamebryo engine game is janky and buggy as fuck, especially Oblivion (Morrowind perhaps?) onwards.

Cool, thanks...this actually looks like pretty good justification to play both, since they each have their own strengths.

FO3 will be my first Fallout game, I'm pretty excited about it. I'll go back and play FO 1/2 if I like it.

Party Pooper
jumping on FO3 since I got NV for $10 from that Best Buy sale

and all that leaves left is hoping for a daily on Bloodlines, and if that doesn't happen, then buying it on the last day.

They should, it's a vastly different experience then a traditional RPG. And well worth $10.

i know i actually have almost 100% the game :), didn't get the final weapons for some characters. spent 120+ hrs. on it.

lets see now if people actually buy last remnant.
I'm contemplating getting it... my brother tried my copy of Last Remnant a few years ago and registered it to his Steam account :-/. He lives with me though, so maybe I'll just play on his account. Not sure yet.

Very far from the truth, Bethesda games for sure, but there are plenty of Gamebryo games that are in my experience very stable.

Axel Hertz
Mass Effect 1 and 2 for 6.60 bucks each. I know the first one was 5 bucks not long ago, but 2 never went below 9.99 afaik (not according to steamgamesales.com).

I don't care spending 1.60 extra. Wonder if I should buy both.

BTW, the Digital Deluxe Edition is such bullshit. The DLC that comes with it costs 7 bucks by itself, and the "digital" extras are nowhere near as useful.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I really need to constrain myself from perusing this thread so often as the unveiling of the new daily deals grows near. I feel as though I'm tainting part of the experience by being made aware of said deals ahead of time.

DoW2 and Chaos rising are both Steamworks for DRM. They just use GFWL for multiplayer matchmaking since Steam couldn't support the game at the time. Retribution is full on Steamworks, including multi.
