Never been a huge fan of Bethesda games but how did everyone feel about Fallout3. Seems like it would be hard to pass on it and the DLC for £6.79.

I liked it a lot, and I hated Oblivion.

also Prince of persia and hitman franchise sale tomorrow.
Goddamnit i am late

Fucking FINALLY. Been waiting on X3: Terran Conflict this entire sale. Hopefully it goes down to $5 and I didn't wait over a week to save like $2, ha.

For those interested, you DO NOT need to pick up the complete pack, or even X3 gold. These games are basically sandboxes, with each one improving and refining the previous, so the most recent release (Terran Conflict) is all you need. It makes the others obsolete.

This is a great guide I've been reading, in anticipation (the videos it links to are great and very helpful, as well):

OK, I bit on The Last Remnant. I probably won't ever finish the game, since it looks massive and JRPGs tend to bore me after a while, but I'm sure I'll get $10 worth of entertainment before it's all over.

Was going to get Worms, but the UI and the dumbed-down presentation was kind of a turnoff coming from Armageddon. I think I'll use most of that $5 and spring for Sanitarium over at GOG... been meaning to play this game for years!

Shogun 2 is several magnitudes better then Empire/Napoleon.

The only aspect that is worse is the DLC. They're asking $5 to unlock clans that are already coded into the game. It's a shitty way to handle something that used to be unlocked by completing campaigns.

Empire is just such a damn tragedy.

Has anyone attempted to run Gothic 1? I've messed with it for like an hour and it refuses to run. Ran it as administrator, in Windows XP SP2 compatibility with the latest community patch and still nothing. Any ideas?

Does anyone even still play Armageddon online?

The last 3 days of sale have not yielded anything of interest I don't already own, so I've been looking for stuff not on the frontpage.

I'm kinda digging NixQuest's look, anyone play it yet?

I thought it would be really cool, but the keyboard gymnastics required to make it past the first boss made me quit with zero desire to ever return.*

* I generally hate bosses anyways. So maybe if you love bosses, YMMV significantly.

Fallout 3 is not downloading properly. It was at 83 percent and then just stopped. Then it would start up again and then stop. Finally it decided to go down all the way to 73 percent.

For the "Show time" ticket, all I have to do is make a YouTube account, upload a video, and then link it on Steam?

1. Have a youtube and a Steam account.
2. Link youtube acount with steam account. Community > View video's > link accounts
3. Upload a video on youtube (I just shot and uploaded a 1 second TF2 vid)
3.5. Wait like half an hour for Steam to notice you have videos on your youtube account.
4. goto Community > View video's > Add video
5. ???
6. profit
(Edit mine.)

Anyone up for a 4-pack on worms if salsa doesn't want to? All I need is basically a US host, got the 3 others already.

I'm kinda regretting not getting Recettear. I didn't get it because I'd have to switch to my Windows partition, which annoys me, haha.

Wooo! Glad that my account is finally validated! :) I've been following the Steam sales threads here for a few years now and I think I've accumulated a decent haul so far:

BIT.TRIP.RUNNER $2.50
Heroes of Might and Magic V Pack $4.99
Assassin's Creed Collector's Pack $27.19
Trine $1.99
Fallout: New Vegas DLC $5.98
Frozen Synapse: Soundtrack Edition $14.99
Guild Wars: Trilogy & Guild Wars: Eye of the North $24.98
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition $2.49
Jamestown $4.99
Sanctum $3.75

Total Damage so far: $93.85

Not too bad I'd say.

It is amazing what you can get for 93 dollar.

If you're running out of space just drag and drop your game folders onto an external drive. Don't uninstall them, just make Steam think they are still there.

Grrr. Being infuriated by Mass Effect. What the hell's going on with the pricing there of the Digital Deluxe edition versus the normal edition (and then, even, the ME1+ME2DDE double pack!)?

Wondering whether to sit on today's purchases for a bit in the hope they update that.

Oh woah. I don't have an answer for you but this is a really cool site. Thanks! :D I also love what little I've played of SpaceChem. So double thanks lol.

lol, you're welcome.

I'm on the fence about TLR. I have an unopened 360 copy that's sat on my shelf for a year and a half. Normally I'd bite but with news of the Dead Space and Hitman franchises possibly getting dailies tomorrow, I'm not so sure anymore. That and I still have to get VTM Bloodlines!

So if I own Last Remnant on the 360 (yet to play it), is it worth it to get it on Steam?

I know there is controller support, but is there any chance for 360 achievements?

Not a bad day for sales - picking up Mass Effect 1 & 2 even though I already have them on 360. I always wanted to play them on PC, but when ME1 came out, my computer at the time was on it's last leg.

Also picking up Last Remnant, it's been on my wishlist for a while.

No achievements, but it's by far the better way to play it.

Same. I can't decide if to get it or leave it.

No, I mean I just find it tiresome to boot up my laptop into Windows. It's always trying to update and stuff since I rarely use it.

Sort of. I still really enjoy the tactics involved in Empire. The competitive MP was also better. Shogun 2's makes no sense to me.

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
I don't even like most JRPGs these days, aside from the odd Sega developed one (Valkyrie, Yakuza ... which aren't typical JRPG in any way, really). So ... why the hell am I tempted to buy The Last Remnant?

I think I'll just stick to Mafia today.

I saw somewhere in the thread that some gaffers were getting "An unexpected error has occurred" when trying to check out. Has anyone with this problem actually gotten it resolved? If so, how and how long did it take? I have a ticket with Steam Support, but not too hopeful about my chances there.

I cannot stress enough what a complete and utter waste of money the DDE version of ME 2 is. All you get for your extra money is a crappy suit of armour that looks horrible, a crappy gun that isn't half as good as the in game guns, half a soundtrack, 3 low quality AVI's and a low quality PDF file of the artbook and comic.

Just get the standard version of ME 2 and use the money you save on something more worthwhile.

C'mon Valve, don't make me go to Origin to get Mirror's Edge. I already had to download it to get Crysis 2 :(

Well, I downloaded it since I got Crysis 2 for free, but still :(

I just downloaded Splinter Cell: CT and have no problems playing widescreen at 1680x1050 by using the in game graphic settings. Does changing the ini files make it more crisp or have they patched the game? Also how in the world do you guys know tomorrow's sales already?

For some reason my Summer Dip achievement won't unlock in Trine.

Steam is being bitchy about showing me my achievements for that game in general.
Which level are you trying it in? The slightly watery part of like level 1 or 2 doesn't count.
