Just played about 5 minutes of Doc Clock and the Toasted Sandwich of Time. Do not recommend it, even for $1.25
Oh man the game is so bad. I got it in one of the indie packs during winter and I praise you for holding on for 5 minutes.

SC Conviction is tempting but I haven't played any of the previous SC games. How dependent is Conviction on past games as far as story?
It works as a standalone game story wise.

Kabouter is making me play Europa Universalis III in exchange for him playing Chrono Trigger, so I feel like me and you are in a similar kind of boat. *runs*

Yeah... damn friend making you play one of the best strategy games of all time.

*rolls eyes*

Same here.

Still Question though. No one play winter voices? How long are they?

has anyone tried universe sandbox? seems unique. I'm a huge sci fi nerd too. Looking for gaf approval before purchase :D
It is not a game. It is just . . . well, a universe sandbox. If you want to put a few planets in orbit and watch them go ahead. But there is not much to do after 15 minutes or so.

It's sitting on my cart, from the video someone posted earlier it seemed okay. Wanna elaborate?

I put four hours into the Prologue and didn't finish it. Can't say how long the episodes are, but you can take that for what you will.

Not a game I'd recommend, by the way. :(

Level 5, where you can actually swim.

I switch characters, but it never activates.

I had the same problem, but when I quit the game out of annoyance I found out that I got the achievement but just not a notice when I got it. Quit out of the game and check to see if you got it.

Can anyone recommend the Deluxe Edition of Mafia II over the regular? I don't care about the art book/soundtrack, but the extra DLC sounds like it could be good.
Deluxe edition doesn't give you the extra DLC. It just gives you the art book & soundtrack. Buy the Vanilla & Joes Adventure. Buy Jimmy if you want more missions. The other DLC are just suits & cars.

Is there 360 controller support for Fallout 3: GOTY?

Yep, works perfectly. Seems like they forgot the "controller enabled" icon on the GOTY edition page, vanilla Fallout 3 mentions it though.

I played for about 10 minutes wanting to get the ticket. But I got stuck at a point and didn't care enough to figure it out. I wasn't feeling it.

Damn you Neogaf,

I just purchased Amnesia: The Dark Descent

But man do I get a RE1 & RE2 vibe from those trailers.

It's so much more frightening than that you have no idea. It's completely lacking anything "gamey" which might even slightly break your immersion, because all of your interactions with the world are physics-based manipulation of objects and the hud elements are extremely sparse. And of course, you have no weapons.

Easily the scariest game ever imo.

From start to finish it nearly depletes all 3 characters' air.

When I did it my thief had unlimited air for some reason. Her breath meter never showed up, but I still got the achievement.

Agreed. I think I had it from a previous sale's indie pack but I attempted to play some of it and it was putting me to sleep :/

I can't wait to boot this up and try it. Sounds so incredibly awesome. The trailers alone sold me.

Think I asked earlier a couple of times .. although extremely vague I might admit.
Was gonna wait until I can confirm that Alpha protocol shows up on the last day before I start my constant begging.

Plus I do like the idea of being able to do it 'whenever'.
Come the last day and alpha's on, you will see how a grown man can plead :p

If Alpha Protocol comes up and isn't in your region, PM me, we can set something up.

This is from the DD page:
Made Man Pack: Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets players get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles modeled after classic cars from the period. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new “made man” suits, including a vintage tux.

Ah well. I got the Vanilla game and the cosmetic DLC. I'm going to wait for the next sale to get the DLC since I probably won't play it for a while.

Oh man, what an awesome day for sales.

Empire and Napoleon Total War
Worms Reloaded
Universe Sandbox

I am also contemplating the Mass Effect games, but I don't see them as something that would tickle my fancy. I own KOTOR and I think I will play through that and see if I like it and then pick up the Mass Effect games during the next sale.

The Empire/Napoleon pair is ok, but nothing to write home about compared to the previous and newest entry in the series in my opinion. Gun based combat makes it a bit more dull in battle, and moving away from the lineage system to a personnel promotion system is unique but doesn't give you quite the same connection as seeing the grandson of your first ruler step in when his father is assassinated/dies in battle before his time and at the tender age of 20 leads your people to a golden age. They added naval battles which are really cool though.

My personal recommendation if you're looking to get into a new Total War game would be either Medieval II or Shogun II. The later of which is a strong candidate for the end of sale recap day (if they do one). It was $30 earlier in the week. The former's Gold edition is on sale all week at $6.69. Both would be a better picking up point than the Empire/Napoleon set.

Unless you really like the time period though. That is the ultimate caveat with all Total War games. If you like a time period especially well you'll likely find yourself preferring that game.
I was hoping someone would pop up with worthwhile impressions for this title. Thank you!!

Apparently I already own Medieval II: Total War but not the expansion Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. I think I will pick that up for $3.34.

Can someone help me out with MotionJoy? I've got my DS3 plugged in and the PC is recognizing it, but for some reason MotionJoy isn't.

Did you click on Driver Manager (at the top)? Install that? Then go back to Profiles, highlight Xbox 360 Controller Emulator, then click on enable below that. Should hear a little chime or something.

That works for me.

Yeah, now it's recognized it after running and installing the drivers, but it won't let me change profiles for some damned reason... :\

Extra copy of Worms here for anyone still looking. One of the buyers disappeared, and I'd rather not wait any longer (gave them 4 hours to get back to me) PM if interested.

Try reinstalling the driver again. Make sure it goes through. Then restart the program, see what happens. That's about all I can think of, sorry. :(

I thought it would be really cool, but the keyboard gymnastics required to make it past the first boss made me quit with zero desire to ever return.*

* I generally hate bosses anyways. So maybe if you love bosses, YMMV significantly.

Not really a fan of overly frustrating bosses. Already get enough of that with Super Meat Boy. I guess I'll pass on it then. Thanks.

Restarting it a couple of times seemed to fix it. I never noticed it actually stayed on the item bar, so I guess it didn't actually restart last time. :|

LOL wow...Steam downloads are so slow right now. My friend just e-mailed me saying that his TF2 has 365 days remaining for the download to complete.

Has anyone attempted to run Gothic 1? I've messed with it for like an hour and it refuses to run. Ran it as administrator, in Windows XP SP2 compatibility with the latest community patch and still nothing. Any ideas?

If someone has already answered your question I apologize, this thread is moving so fast I can't keep up.

I have run and played Gothic 1 to completion on Steam on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without having to do any tinkering. So not sure what problem you are running into.

However, I would recommend you follow Minsc's excellent mod guide that he posted in the GoG thread. It really makes the game a lot better, and might help you run the game as well.

the only thing is since you now are using a modded .exe, Steam won't know you're playing the game/track your time/have an overlay.

I saw somewhere in the thread that some gaffers were getting "An unexpected error has occurred" when trying to check out. Has anyone with this problem actually gotten it resolved? If so, how and how long did it take? I have a ticket with Steam Support, but not too hopeful about my chances there.

Yes, mine got resolved. I emailed support and went to bed. Next morning I had an email back from them telling me to delete everything in the Steam folder except for the Steam.exe and steamapps (where the games are stored.)

I did follow their directions, and after starting Steam (you have to do email verification again) I was able to buy things.

However, I don't think that was what fixed my account because I was also unable to buy anything on the Steam website and I can't see how a messed up client would have any effect on the website. I imagine my account was flagged for something and they unflagged it, or whatever the issue was just went away by itself with some time.

I think the thief gets an item that gives her unlimited underwater time. I'd beaten the game, and reinstalled it and just loaded up the level and I also had unlimited air for the thief.

What do you guys think the chances are of F1 2010 hitting a daily deal slot?

Seems unlikely, most of tomorrows sales are known and Sunday is the recap day. At least I think it's Sunday, might be Monday.
