Crap, I just saw MNC's message - but that said if it's any consolation I'm in Australia so can't 'host' the 4-pack purchase.

So, I went searching for my Witcher 2 bonus content. Turns out it's listed in the "Tools" section as a 5.3 gig download. I might actually hit my 250 gig Comcast limit for the first time ever, with Steam + Netflix HD etc.

That would also seem to explain my lower speeds yesterday, they are probably throttling my connection for downloading like ~80gigs within 8 days from Steam servers.

However, I am back to getting decent speeds again this morning after switching servers, so maybe it was just temporary? Or a daily throttling quota? We shall see tonight.

Looks like I'll be getting Dead Space 2 today. :)

I wonder what other nice surprises we'll have today?

I regret missing out the first few days of the sale since I didn't have a Stea account. >_<'

Just got the DoD ticket. There's a server called Beat the Heat, which only has Kalt and colmar, the maps needed for the ticket. After a few draws, people were talking about letting Allies win, so Axis could win the other round. Of course that never really works. I just joined an empty server and finished the maps all alone :D

Anyone played the Winter Voices games? How long are they? They arent listed on http://www.howlongtobeat.com/.
I can't comment on the length yet, but I think the achievements in the game are busted. I had to play the battle for the summer achievement four times before it unlocked and I've redone it a couple of more times after that as the achievement following that battle failed to unlock as well (for the funeral scene).

I may yet just finish up the prologue anyway even if the achievements aren't unlocking to gauge whether I want to purchase the rest of the game while it's 50% off and possible sit back while any bugs are patched before playing it. Despite being slow paced and rather janky, the game is horrifyingly interesting for some reason.

Resist.

Tnx for the opinions. ;-)

Conviction is totally worth it for the price, if you like third person + a little stealthy based gameplay. I would categorize it as the kind of stealth gameplay/gunplay that I wanted from Alpha Protocol.

Napoleon+Empire+All DLC is together for $10 making it a fantastic value. That's honestly why I got it. I don't see myself playing it as much as I played Medieval II or Shogun 2; but 10 bucks for 2 total war games with all their goodies is too much of an offer for me to say no to. I bought both on the backs of my extremely positive experiences with the other games that The Creative Assembly has sold me before, and it was almost like an in-faith purchase even though I'm not a huge fan of warfare in the two time periods represented in the games.

Yeah the same reason why I am thinking about it. If the first game is like 10+ hours I might only pick up the first (or the first two) for now and pick up the other in a later sale.

I know this isn't the correct thread, but if anyone in the US wouldn't mind gifting me the splinter cell pack and mafia 2 regular edition. I can paypal straight away.

Oh, Yellow NAUGHTY Submarine, you just sold me both games.
...
Is the DLC for Conviction worth the price?

I really want to bite on mafia 2, but with my anatomy and physiology classes I am just not sure I will have time to play it until winter and hopefully by winter I will have tor eating away my game time.

Today is potentially a very expensive day for me.

I'm scared, GAF. Hold me.
You'll do fine, just hold on the thought "I'll only get what I'll play" and you're fine!

So I downloaded the demo of The Last Remnant and it's... unique. I think I'm beginning to understand it, but that battle system is very information overload. What the heck is going on? It's fun, though, so for the sale price, I'll bite.

FLANK ATTACK! The Last Remnant was bought!

I was going to tell you to do the exact opposite...I played it a few weeks ago and could not trick myself into thinking the battle system was in any way entertaining. It's just an overly complicated mess.

I finished the game year or 2 ago, put 20-30 hours in it, and I've still to figure how the battle system works. I should've read the manual/tutorials.

Which one is better of the two?
I like to know also which has more fun, no battle mode contents (the politics and map stuff).

Meideval stuff (pairing kids to make kings, etc..) sounds better than Japan politics, but maybe im wrong

Shogun II is the best in the series. If you like the setting, go with that.

If you want the best price/awesomeness ratio, go with medieval 2 and pick up shogun in a year.

When I get both Mass Effect games on Steam, where can I get the DLC and how much is it? Should there be some kind of GOTY edition of both games incl all the DLC?

You buy the DLC in-game through BioWare's store called "The Ceberus Network." Afaik no DLC has ever gone on sale.

Sadly there isn't a Dragon Age-esque GOTY edition which includes all DLC, either on Steam or at retail.

Edit: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_Content for prices/content.

I completely disagree. Play on easy and it's a pretty damn fun game.

Yeah, it's more than a little janky, but it has nice art and pretty good level design.

For $2.50 it is absolutely a good deal. I played for about an hour and half and got the ticket and I'm definitely going to keep playing.

It's not amazing AAA or anything, but it's like Conan the Iranian.

Just don't try to play it with a controller. The configuration is busted. But it actually works amazingly well with a keyboard and mouse (and I always hate playing these types of games with keyboard and mouse).
