Looks like I need some more time and space.
Jesus!

I would never think about downloading a game that size. 12GB is bad enough.

To be fair I played it on a console, and it has significant technical and control issues, I'm sure it's much better on PC, I liked Mafia 1.

Another question that probably has been asked many time: Does spending tickets on the prize booth reduce the number in my Grand Prize jar, or can they be spent separately? I think I have a strong chance of being one of those 100 right now, so I don't wanna diminish those chances.

It's okay to not like it, but 10 minutes play time is not enough to properly judge a game.

I spent more than 10 minutes ranting on gaf about why the game sucked. The only thing I admired early on was the stones on the developers to think they could get away with it. Luckily my rubbernecking ways (the only reason I continued playing) rewarded me with a game I grew to love. I always say, Mafia 2 needs to be judged in its entirety. It's a fantastic game that's not immediately appreciated.

Slight exaggeration on my part. Steam says I played 83 minutes. My decision was made after 10 minutes that the game sucked.

After playing Just Cause 2 no open world game is the same.

Oh you wanted GTA in the 1940s?

Hmm, little bit off topic but I've got a weird issue with one steam-game. Just bought Stubbs the Zombie, and it won't work. The game starts and then exit to say: stubbs.exe won't work. Reinstalled the game, rebooted my pc en rebooted Steam. Don't have a clue...

Stubbs is a beast to get working on newer Windows, assuming you're on Vista or 7. As a general rule, when Windows gives the generic "xxxxxxx has stopped working" message, try adding it to the DEP. I think DEP is also in XP.

Go to Control Panel
System
Advanced
Under Performance click the Settings button
Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab
Make sure "Turn on DEP for all programs...." is selected
Add stubbs.exe to the list

I don't know what i wanted. It was an impulse Steam sale buy. I bought it in the last sales not this one.

If people think that length i played that was bad. Me and a friend bought Hunted: The Demons Forge. Tried to play LAN, it didn't work, tried single player until i got to the first enemy. Then that got deleted.

Im very picky in my old age of 25.

Is Splinter Cell Conviction worth it at sale price?
And Napoleon TW, already having the first Empire (never played, but intend to...)?

Put it this way, even if 3 million users each only averaged 3 tickets achieved, that's 9 million tickets out there. Assuming you managed to snag yourself 50 of them, your odds are still: 1800-to-1. And there may be even more tickets out there. Your odds of winning suck. No matter what you do.

Thing is, Mafia 2 is not an open world game. It's a linear game that takes place in an open world.

Coming out of prison was intense. Fuck, going into prison was intense. I don't think any experience of that variety has been done better in a game that I've played.

I only have three tickets, doubt I'm winning the jackpot, but I made a nice wishlist anyway.

Yeah it gave me an excuse to organise and clean up my wishlist, probably not going to win but you never know.

Because you seem to know a lot about this game and playing you own songs, do you know why some of my songs are completely mistitled ingame? It will literally title one of my songs as one of my other songs, even though a quick look in windows explorer shows that the file is correctly named.

The only times this has happened to me is when I have multiple songs with the same title, Beat Hazard gets confused who is singing what even though they are in completely different folders and I'm not lookinga t them at the same time. For example, I have several versions of "I won't back down", and Beat Hazard can never figure out which one is in which folder and frequently thinks the original is a cover, one cover is a different cover, etc.

Just keep playing. It tells a wonderful story that will absolutely suck you in.

Too much of a backlog now. Last Remnant, New Vegas, Witcher 2 and Borderlands are yet to be completed.

It wasn't for me. If i could gift it away i would.

The story in it was great except for
the end kinda cut the whole story. Felt like there was so much more to be told

I'm guessing Portal 2 will also be in there.

My wallet won't like this.

hmmm...I thought the voice acting was about the only good thing about Mafia 2, storywise it was pretty generic and had a very unlikable main character.

Seeing Henry get stabbed was about the only point in the game that drew a reaction from me...maybe it was because he was the most likable character

And the music in the cars is awesome.
I think I mostly listened to Empire Central, which had some really great songs. And in the 40's there were some great songs too. All in all the music was fantastic overall.

Long Tall Sally amongst others was a great choice for music.

Man, all this talk about Mafia makes me want to replay Mafia 1 and 2. Looking at the DLC, I'm think Joe's Adventures is the only one worth getting right?

That or my early morning radar has yet to fully deploy.

Still, some people do take it way too seriously. There's no point in going for any achievements unless you're enjoying it. It's not altering the long-shot odds by very much.

Driving cars at night through snowy streets listening to tunes from the 40's is one of my favorite all time gaming experiences.

Thank you Mafia 2.

I think so. I still need to play through it.

I have the original Mafia sat unplayed on Steam, as well. I really need to get on that.

Should I get ME because im thinking about getting ME 2, any of the splinter cells worth it?

I enjoyed both ME's. I spent more time on the first though.

I know im in the minority but i preferred splinter cell conviction over the original splinter cells. If you prefer stealth games you will like the originals. If you're more into action you will like conviction. They're all worth a play though.
