Had X3, Neverwinter Nights 2, Supreme Commander 2, and the Hitman pack at my cart at one point.

Ended up with X3 only. I'm so proud of myself.

Too bad The Witcher wasn't a daily deal. Maybe during the Christmas sale.
Witcher is 9.99 on GOG if you can't wait. Not much cheaper, but a bit.

Risen

The other games are great too, but Risen is juuust above them and has much better graphics.
Dude! Risen is in no way, shape, or form better than Morrowind. Blasphemy!

Ah only Hitman Blood Money today.

Also; I finished Batman Arkham Asylum. Id say it would have been my GOTY 09'

and I actually compared it to Watchman on the PSN :lol...

How does everyone feel about PoP: The Forgotten Sands for $5?

I've been interested in it but to be honest the only PoP experience I have is the "reboot" PoP that came out a few years ago and I didn't enjoy that much.

ALRIGHT dudes, questions.

-Do we know for certain tomorrow is a recap?

-Has anyone gotten the Pendalo Pack (runaway and next big thing packs). I like adventure games and these look like cartoons!

-Is the telltale pack worth it? Are their games actually funny or is it casual crap?

thx!

You already own Supreme Commander 2
You already own Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands™

What the hell?

Oh well, nothing for me today. I may have to look into X3.

Hmmmm....can anyone remember if DOWII: Retribution earned the top spot on its day? Is there a website or blog somewhere keeping track of the chart toppers?

edit: Hmmm, with Witcher 2 on its day, probably not, I suppose. Hrmph.

So I'm looking for an open-world RPG fix outside of Oblivion, but I need some help figuring out which one(s) to go for.

So far I think my choices are:

- Morrowind
- Gothic 2 or 3
- Risen

Morrowind, with mods. Only played demos of the others, but they felt like shit in those. And Risen has extra DRM.

Sam & Max Season 1 in the Mac section is not actually Mac compatible. :( Season 2 is though. Is it cool to just go straight into season 2 without playing season 1 first?
You‘ll miss some references here and there, but all seasons can stand by themselves and you don‘t need knowledge of the previous ones to get through the games.

no but it always has been in the past.

i like the runaway games but they aren't OMGAMAZING

they aren't "casual crap". they're adventure games with inventory puzzles in the vein of the old lucasarts games. whether or not you find them funny--and how funny you find them--is all you, man.

most people would say that the pack is worth it provided you like their games.

Some silly copyright issue over a piece of music on a level iirc.
They should release a steam edition of the game without it :/ How hard can it be?

Some decent deals today. Dead Space 2 is tempting at $15, but I'll wait for another sale since I haven't started Dead Space 1.

On a side note...a little disappointed with the tickets today. It may be the only day where I'm not going to bother even getting the freebie (posting a comment on a screenshot).

Omg! Which one of you beautiful bastards just gifted me Terraria <3

edit: seriously, lol...is there a way to check? My kid was messing with the screen.

edit 2: I think I figured it out :)

Ah cool, thanks for that! Downloading Season 2 now. :D Wish I could've started from season 1 but ah well.

I'm done for the sale.

Portal 2 - Amazing. Won't soon forget it. Still have coop to do

Saints Row 2 - Very fun game with plenty to do but an atrocious port. Won't be supporting the devs next time if the game isn't ported to perfection

Amnesia - Still haven't downloaded. Demo was super scary though

Hitman: Blood Money - Will buy it later today

I was tough on myself and refused to buy too many things.

If you haven't got Just cause 2, Borderlands or Terraria, you should definitely pick them all up (JC2 and Borderlands should be back tomorrow). Three stunning games at bargain prices.

GTAIV looks like it did on its sale day, other than that I don't remember.

Gothic 2 is damn near unplayable without some heavy tweaking in my opinion. Such atrocious controls.

Risen is the far more accessible game, and the one I would recommend.

Options->Controls-> Gothic 2 On

The Sam & Max pack is so worth it. I love everything TellTale has done but their games do get criticized for being easier than point-and-click adventures normally are. Personally, with Back to the Future being the only exception, I don't find that true.

Any easy way for me to test if a certain game is compatible with my system? Is there a website for such a thing?

I want to get Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, but I'm a bit spooked because I couldn't get Amnesia to run on my system at all, no matter what I did. (Win 7 64-bit, 4GB RAM, Intel dual-core processor, and I *think* an Intel graphics chip of some sort.)

Only have about 13 bucks left in my checking account, so I'll buy Terraria and that's it. Hoping my friend picks Portal 2 while it's on sale, or else she'll have to wait until the winter sale, and continue playing it the wrong way (console).

Expecting recaps tomorrow so picking up everything else I wanted today:

Tidalis
Tiny Bang Story
Lume
Capsized
The Whispered World
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Portal 2
Dead Space 2

Just wanted to chime in here and mention that the price you can obtain Terraria in a 4-pack for right now is a goddamned joke, and anyone who is even remotely interested in it and does not buy it will be forever cursed with impotence.

Okay since these were the last new deals anyway, I might want to get your attention to a game I wasnt even aware of being on Steam. I LOVED it, and here were my original impressions:

Its definitely worth 10 bucks.

One of the best and truest to the roots adventures when you liked the Sierra Adventures like Kings Quest VIII. Some Puzzles are a bit out of the world but you are definitely in for a treat. Its definitely my favorite adventure by FAR of the recent years. Actually I was thinking about creating an OT when it came out here, but it wasnt out in America yet and I wanted to wait. Well seems I missed that point.
The game is great, has some unbelievably charming characters, smart puzzles (that get hard later on) and a very memorable ending.

The Whispered World is a great, one of the best and definitely the most underrated of the recent adventure games. Highly recommended. The voice of Sadwick is annoying though.

I really liked the Tales of Monkey Island and the Sam and Max games as well, but there werent many other "classical" adventure games on par in my opinion. it really pushes the feeling Sierra was going for.

Oh and its beautiful:

Fair warning, though: The cinematics are not as beautiful as the rest of the game and the voice of the main character might get annoying.

And again: Here is the trailer.

:)

Thinking about this game makes me feel happy. Its also actually the only game me, my girlfriend and my sister played through. My sister hasnt touched any videogame since Diablo 2. Its about 20 hours long.

Which of the Hitman games should I buy? I'm buying one of them and Terraria.

Can only speak for Blood Money, but it holds up graphically fairly well, is damn fun, and seems comprehensive.

Well I've started but I haven't finished it is what I meant.

I'll still go through it with you if you like :p I can't remember what the challenges were anyway.

I see you bought The Longest Journey :D Play that first.

Yeah now I feel like a deer in headlights. This was only my 2nd Steam sale so I got a bunch of stuff that everyone and their dog here already owns.

Probably going to go with Beat Hazard, Morrowind, and the Witcher first.
