The nimbus achievement doesn't seem to work for me. I pushed the meat on the grill, but nothing pops up.

Edit: nevermind, it randomly unlocked when i was on a different map

I have no idea how much I've spent, but here is what I've purchased so far:

Aquaria
Ben There, Dan That!
Blueberry Garden
Call if Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
Company of Heroes
Deus Ex: GOTY Edition
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - GOTY Edition
Frozen Synapse
The Longest Journey
Machinarium
The Path
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
Sid Meier's Civilization V
Terraria
Time Gentlemen, Please!
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
The Void
The Whispered World
X-Com: UFO Defense
X3: Reunion
X3: Terran Conflict

I'll probably pick up a few more games that are on sale tomorrow, too.

I've held myself to under £50 so far.

That won't last tomorrow when I'm likely to go crazy on indie games and others like The Longest Journey

Altitude ticket was real simple. Join a populated Ball/Soccer server and launch an EMP into the crowd of planes at the start. Or just join a server with a buddy and fly full speed at him and have them fire an EMP at you.

It's hard to say no to Duke at that price.

I know I'm late, that you've probably already bought it and that Salsa will vehemently disagree, but Duke Nukem is not worth even 25$. Maybe 10$, 5$ sure but 25$ is too much for what is truly one of the most mediocre shooters to come out in years. And honestly that money would be better spent on say Bulletstorm or buying Duke Nukem 3D off of GoG. And let me be entirely clear, I'm not saying that this is one of the worst games EVAR!!1!1!one! the way some of the reviews thoroughly trashed it. I think Forever is middle of the road, average, mediocre.

Forever is only interesting if you want to play through the game as some sad piece of nerd history. You can literally spot the years in mechanics were lifted from specific games or when the dialogue/jokes were written. As a virtual tour of George Broussard's and 3D Realms career suicide Duke Nukem Forever is kind of interesting. Mechanically the game awkwardly ticks off everything it needs to distance itself from its oldschool roots. You can only carry two guns at any given time, you have regenerating health, the controls are sluggish, the pace of the gameplay is modern slow, the levels are incredibly small and claustrophobic. Duke Nukem Forever feels nothing like an old school shooter and it feels boiler plate as a modern one.

I'm not a fan of SERIOUS FACE MILITARY GUY CONTEMPORARY COMBAT shooters, so the one positive I can draw from Forever is Gearbox has the IP and can something real with it, if the backlash of Forever doesn't forever negatively impact them, Take Two or the series. Which it kind of is given that the game isn't even selling through it's initial shipment. Forever still went on to sell over a million copies, kind of mind boggling how far one brand can carry you.

tldr: Buy Bulletstorm or Duke Nukem 3D, don't buy Duke Nukem Forever.

Yeah, based on my experience with the Duke demo and word of mouth, I'm avoiding Duke until it's super cheap (like $10, tops).

Saige

I must do better.
Damage so far:
Heroes pack
Fallout NV DLC
Alpha protocol
Civ Viking DlC
Deus Ex
Hitman : Blood Money
Puzzle Agent games
Eschalon RPG games

Total: $44.50

Still have a little more than $10 in my steam wallet, anything else I should look at?

Anyone with any leftover Terraria from a gift pack? I was thinkin about pickin it up, but I thought I'd ask this first. I'm a poor person and even $2.50 i have to be careful spending sometimes, heh.

WTF is with Magicka's save system. They couldn't let us save manually or even autosave at a checkpoint? lol

Another summer sale come and gone...this was a good one for me. Nearly everything I bought was something I've really been wanting to play; the only true "impulse purchase" here is the HMMV pack. Lesson learned...I would have been practically right on budget if I'd skipped it!

I also think I managed to pick up everything gaf insisted I desperately needed, except Last Remnant and Bloodlines, the latter being a terrible act of treason, I know. Someday, someday.

Final tally:
Portal 2
Terraria (gifted)
Fallout 3: GOTY
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (no expansion)
Sanctum
King's Bounty: Crossworlds
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
King Arthur: The Druids
Beat Hazard: Ultra DLC (BUY THIS GAME)
Frozen Synapse
Dragon Age: Origins
Assassin's Creed II
Dungeons
The Heroes Pack (HMMV + Expansions)
SpaceChem
BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
------
Total damage: 107.79
Budget: 100.00

'twas a good time here in the thread, as always. Until the holiday sale...play your games!

Terraria is a great value with constant large updates from the creator. I highly suggest you check it out.

so what happens tomorrow? i missed risen and wanna get it

If history repeats itself (and it will), we'll see a return of the top seller from each day of the sale. I doubt Risen will appear. Sorry. :(

I got off pretty easy on this sale. Picked up some stuff I wanted anyway, and skipped some of the impulse stuff. My damages:

Jul 2, 2011 Darksiders, HOARD $7.98
Jul 3, 2011 Assassin's Creed II: Deluxe Edition $6.79
Jul 4, 2011 Alpha Protocol, Fallout New Vegas Honest Hearts DLC, Fortix 2 $12.97
Jul 6, 2011 S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Wings of the Luftwaffe $5.99
Jul 8, 2011 Eschalon: Book I, Eschalon Book II $8.73

Total $42.46

Edit: I guess I should add Frozen Synapse and Sanctum in there, they were gifted (so they weren't on my transaction list). About $10 extra, but still not bad. ~$52.

probably a stupid question but I want to make sure about this: the summer sale last 46 more hours right? And a set of repeated deals are expected tomorrow, right?

Yes. It's not a stupid question, everyone gets confused by this at some point (myself included). :)

Anybody has a rough estimate of which were the top sellers during the sale?

You! You and your terraria gifting, d'awwwww. Thanks again dude.

Damages so far are pretty much nothing compared to earlier years:

Two Worlds 2
Defence Grid: The Awakening
Bioshock 2
Guild Wars
Terraria
Hitman: Blood Money

$45 or so. Pretty decent.

Is there a thread for getting GAF Steam IDs? I think it's time to finally expand my friend list.

If I could just permanently transfer you my Steam copy, forever remove it from my own library, I would.

Have you tried the Pendalo games yet? 33 is kinda pricey for 4 games, but they look so good.

Wow, today's deals are great. So great, in fact, that they've put me in a generous mood.

First person to quote this post and post an MS paint drawing of Agent 47 (must be original!) gets a copy of Blood Money! Because that game is fucking awesome!

Dead Space 2 is actually just a tad too expensive for my liking... :(

I'm contemplating these games

Sure purchase
Terraria
Blood Money
X3

Pretty expensive:
Dead Space 2
Vampire

In a perfect world I'd go over my budget and purchase Vampire and Dead Space too. That's what I wanted in the beginning :/
