Very happy to see Dead Space 2 at £10, definitely buying that when I'm home later. I'm sure it was £30 earlier today and £15 would have been above the impulse buy point. This is a smart move, EA.

Considering the NWN pack, worth it? I have original NWN2 somewhere on disc, but none of the expansions so I assume it's worth £5 just for those and the convenience of having everything on Steam.

As for X3, is the Reunion demo a good indicator of what to expect in Terran Conflict? I heard TC is the game to go for, but it doesn't seem to have a demo. Only Reunion has a demo.
Get the NWN2 pack for Mask of the Betrayer, the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment.

So how many of those games will you actually play for longer than a day?

Realistically, maybe 15-20. Mostly the huge RPG type games.

There is some stuff in there that's a case of "throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks".

Total Spent: $291.57

Sure that sounds like a big number but that is a ridiculous amount of entertainment for what would basically be 5 full price retail games.

My original plan was to spend about $150 lol

Dammmmmn son.

I see you bought The Longest Journey :D Play that first.

Thanks again to DennisK4 for Terraria! Looks like I managed to stay under my spending limit of $20...unless something really hot pops up tomorrow.

Had X3, Neverwinter Nights 2, Supreme Commander 2, and the Hitman pack at my cart at one point.

Ended up with X3 only. I'm so proud of myself.

Too bad The Witcher wasn't a daily deal. Maybe during the Christmas sale.
Uhmmmmmm it was like $34 at one point, that was cheap as fuck for an amazing game.

I meant the first one.

I'm sure it's worth $13, but I'm sure it'll be cheaper eventually, and I have lots of great games to play through right now. So I held back.

Debating Portal 2, I know 25 is a great price but you get accustomed to single digit dollar amounts in this sale. Stephen Merchant is in it though so I think I'll bite the bullet later.

The new Prince of Persia games are tempting, as is F1, but I don't think they would run well enough on my laptop :(

So tomorrow is the recap sale correct?

DAMN IT IF IT IS.

I was hoping for BLUR and Section 8/Section 8 Prejudice to go on as daily deals! I'm up $15 because of this! :(

How long is Portal 2 ? While I loved the first one, I can't help but remember how short it was.

I've only played the single player and it was maybe 8-9 hours according to the steam counter. I haven't checked out the developer commentary.

Speaking of Portal 2, does anyone need the Professor Portal achievement? I haven't done co-op yet.

My Steam sale damage "so far"

The Longest Journey and Dreamfall
Risen
Mafia (the original)
Audio Surf
Magicka - Wizards Survival Kit DLC, Magicka: Vietnam, Magicka: Nippon.
Deus Ex: Collection
Frozen Synapse
Hitman: Collection
Stalker: CoP
Amnesia

------------

$63.73 (give or take). Feels good getting that much content... And for a few bucks cheaper than ONE full console game.

So I'm looking for an open-world RPG fix outside of Oblivion, but I need some help figuring out which one(s) to go for.

So far I think my choices are:

- Morrowind
- Gothic 2 or 3
- Risen

The other games are great too, but Risen is juuust above them and has much better graphics.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...

Regarding gameplay:
Gothic 2, almost no contest. Closely followed by Morrowind, they are different enough to check out both.

Then Risen behind a while and then Gothic 3 behind a mile.

Edit: If your most important point are graphics, though, go for Risen.

Does Forgotten Sands still require a permanent internet connection? Steam page says it does, but I know they're sometimes slow to update those, or don't update them at all.

according to the steam forums it only needs an internet connection on startup because it connects to Uplay.

the garbage persistent drm was apparently removed.

I have all three, there must have been a pack? lol
There was. Well hopefully it wasn't considerably more than buying Warband and WF&S separately. Warband includes vanilla + upgrades.

Gothic 2 is damn near unplayable without some heavy tweaking in my opinion. Such atrocious controls.

Risen is the far more accessible game, and the one I would recommend.

Nice haul, sirrian. It's worth that price just for VVVVVV and Terraria, fuckin indie gaming at it's best.

Thanks, I loved every second of VVVVVV and will probably replay it endlessly. It totally brought me back to my (awesome) days of C64 gaming.
