Anyone doing a Sanctum 4-pack? I'd want in.

I would get in as well... Two down, two to go.

Also, a few questions that probably got buried because the thread was moving so fast:

1) What Magicka DLC is worth it?
2) Are there any games NOT a part of the daily deals worth looking into?
3) I see that some people regret their Recettear purchase- I would be more than happy to buy it from you (would even throw a few bucks over what you paid for it).

You know I've never really gotten into any Battlefield games. I played some Star Wars Battleftont on PS2, and a bit of the XBLA downloadable (just the 30 minute demo) and thought they were enjoyable enough, but have never really gotten into any of them. Is this sale a bad time to jump onboard, perhaps simply waiting for Battlefield 3?

I imagine you can put in a good amount of hours into BFBC2 before October 25. That and it's $7.50.

Borderlands: How good is this game solo? If anyone cares to play coop at some point I'm down for that too. Planning on getting the GOTY version of the game.

Witcher 2: looks amazing and interesting. Only 33% off though, with all these games, should I just wait for a future sale where it will be at a lower price? Or is it so amazing that I need to play it now?

Assassin's Creed: I tried the first one on the 360 and hated it, it was just too boring and repetitive. I also started playing the second one but dropped it before the prologue was finished. Seeing them here for so cheap is tempting me to give it another go but I'm not too sure.

How's the online community for Section 8: Prejudice? Still going strong?

I know there was a fair bit of positive buzz for the game around release and i'm thinking of picking it up now.

Yeah, you're right, I made a small edit above. I didn't mean to sound condescending, so I hope it didn't sound that way. I have never thought the two compared, but many else on the internet do. :)

Anyway, I do think it is still worth jumping in, and it is not too late to jump in. Why do you think you never got into the games? It may not be worth it if you don't like playing with randoms (though the community is pretty good, far above the caliber of a CoD, for example).

I'm just new to PC gaming in a hardcore fashion (always played Starcraft and Diablo 2 and a few others, but never much else) and Battlefield on consoles was always the red-headed stepchild of sorts I suppose. That and I'm still trying to come to grips with KB+M play. I'll probably jump in if nothing else than to have another game to force me to use the PC FPS controls, only thing making me hesitate is the new game being almost here, but I guess it's only $5.

Really regret the TF2 purchases, would have been able to buy 1701 A.D.: Gold Edition and Mr. Robot. When will I learn!@# Also probably should have skipped the Magicka DLC given how hard it has been to get decent games going.

I so do not need GTA4. I own it on PS3 with the expansions (never really played them). But $10?? And I could see if the ice mod works? Damnit...trying so hard not to bite.

Nice, we need 2 more then. And someone to host. I can't this time.

I'm in for a 4-pack, but I already have the game so I can't host, it's actually for my g/f. Definitely want in though.

How do you view purchases by date? Or more organized than what it shows in View Account History.
I had to cobble it all together from account history and the random Steam email that got actually showed up.

That email situation has been fairly annoying.

Ooh, yes please. :) I read about this game in PC Gamer UK, I believe, and I'd very much like to see how it works as a game, what the devs have done with it. I can't really imagine how it plays out based on what I know, and that's exciting.

Steam ID is madhair60.
Read the rules! (edit ah i see, nvm) :D (and please answer in the ponygaf topic, so people don't think i screwed them when they are not reading here ^^)

I'm not sure what people were whining about concerning the The Wonderful End of the World achievement. I picked up the two pack today and earned the achievement in eighty-six minutes (according to my Steam play time). That's with playing the intro level once before I "reset" the game (just to be sure) and playing three levels that I didn't need to over again before I figured out that A- is less than A (in terms of the requirements to unlock the final level).

BC2 (and BF2 as well, to some extent) was the first serious FPS that I dumped a lot of time into on the PC, and I think it's a great FPS to use to get used to KB+M. For example, in a moment of weakness, I bought BlackOps a while ago for the PC, just because I wanted to play against some bots (I used to dump a lot of time into the CoDs on the consoles). It had a terrible feel to it. It could just be the way the game was ported, but CoD is very arcade-like, fast-paced, run-and-gun, and to me, did not lend itself well at all to someone new to KB+M. BC2, on the other hand, is more methodical (though still action-packed), and is much less run-and-gun. You can't kill someone in a few bullets (usually), so it forces you to make sure you have a shot before you start shooting, you only spray if you are really close (and BC2 maps are on a much larger scale than other FPSs, typically, so close range doesn't happen if you don't want it to), and you train yourself to follow and lead your shots at a distance. It gives you a much better environment in which to practice KB+M because you can keep your distance, and can practice shooting without dying immediately in frustration.

That said, to fully contribute to your team/squad, you'll usually have to get closer (and if you can see the enemy at range, they can probably see you too), but it is a much less single-person-centric experience, so you don't have to worry about being a drag if you are new. All you have to do is spot, and you'll be a great asset to your team.

Crazier. Last Christmas, Steam had a bunch of 5 for $5 Indie game packs that didn't show up this sale.

Yeah, I think that was a low point for the sales. I don't think we'll see such kind of deals anymore, with the daily deals and everything.

Don't hold back. It's really a whole new game on PC. The gameplay is so much better when played at a responsive frame rate. Playing on PC changed me entire opinion about the game.

Yep, it's unlikely Steam can do anything about it. This is why people recommend puting a bulk Sum in your Steam wallet, because most CC companies if they see bunches of tiny transactions will put a hold on an account.

Here's the thing, I called my CC company about this, thinking they did decline it, but they said they didn't decline any purchase. It appears that it was Valve that declined the purchase.

I have a duel core and a 9800GT, and the game ran pretty well for me on medium settings.

I knew that Cryostasis was poorly optimized, but damn. It runs like complete shit on my PC, and it doesn't matter which settings I change, I can barely get more than 30 fps most of the time. I wouldn't mind 30 fps if it was at least consistent, but it's definitely not. During action parts it drops down to <20, which makes the game completely unplayable. Not only that, the game tends to crash quite often too.

I bought the game during the last summer sale. If it hadn't been for a friend of mine wanting to know if the game was any good, I probably wouldn't have played it this year either. I wouldn't have missed much.

Just a warning if someone considers getting the game now that it's down to €5.

I have a quad core, and 8 gigs of ram, but it's only 800mhz and my GPU is only a radeon 4850. So to be honest anything under 60 frames makes re-buying the game pretty pointless to me. I just do not enjoy playing PC games at console framerates. It seems silly.

I'm so glad I've never become the type to notice the difference between 30 and 60 frames or any of this nonsense. More power to you if that's what gives you enjoyment, but I'm glad I don't have to worry myself about such things.

How is DOW2: Retribution for single player? I have DoW2 , and enjoyed the single player but will never touch the multi. Is ret worth it for the sp alone?

I have 8$ CAD left and I don't know what to use it for. I'm not too interested by Magika, so maybe I'll just keep it has a back-up if I ever get more of those goddamn TF2 Crates.

So, I should re-purchase the game on PC for the added benefit of playing it in a way that's similar to playing on PS3? That's all I'm really saying. If I get less than 30fps on the PC version, why would I buy it?
