So, I should re-purchase the game on PC for the added benefit of playing it in a way that's similar to playing on PS3? That's all I'm really saying. If I get less than 30fps on the PC version, why would I buy it?

I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying I'm glad I don't notice such things, and can just enjoy games on whatever platform. If the graphics are much prettier I'll notice, if it has less frames, I wouldn't have a clue.

That's fair enough. I just wish my PC could run GTA4 properly. I haven't paid to find out if it does, and I probably won't, but I'd love to have the game in a more playable state. I beat it on PS3 already, but if I could play at a better framerate with more bells and whistles, I'd be a happy grinch.

huzza!

will need to think about it, i cant download stuff from Amazon myself anyway

You don't need to. Just buy it, go to your games/downloads , click the "View Product Key" then plug it into Steam.

Never done this before... Would I get the achievements if I registered via Steam?

Does anyone want to split the Frozen Synapse 2 pack thing, I missed it when it was on sale and I don't have enough in my account for it.

I spent about $40 this time, which was a little more than usual I think. I blame it on DoWII:R... it wasn't an absolute SCREAMING deal at 15.00 but I've been waiting for it to drop to a good price for a while now.

Only thing left is whether or not to open a few summer coolers... it probably isn't worth it but the allure of hats cannot be denied. :lol

Quick non-sale question.

I bought Mount & Blade Warband through Amazon.com a few months ago.

I finally got around to installing the game today and I noticed that I could activate the game on Steam.

I put typed the activation code on the CD case into Steam and it was accepted and Steam prompted a download of the Warband..

Don't I have to use my retail disc to install the game?

Remember when I said yesterday would be my last? I lied. Bought The Oddbox and Flight Control HD today.

Day 3 (7/02/11):

So because I am on holiday and not currently in the UK, I apparently cannot make purchases on my Steam account. Why cant they just parse my orders as if I was ordering on the UK site with the UK prices? I tried using Steam Support but 10 hours later and I've had no reply.

I'm tempted to ssh home and order using a browser.

So I have a funny question.

Which steam mascot is Sir Roderick, which one is Cyl and which one is Tappet?

I can never tell who is who from the letters.
The black one is adorable! And the leter stories and the activity stories were awesome. I hope they do something similar with the mascots for winter.

There is absolutely nothing I have tried on stubbs that has worked. I just can't play it. I did the DEP thing, I tried a crack, and it's set for compatibility.

Unless anyone has any ideas other than dual-booting xp (lol no) then skip it if you're running vista/win7 D:

Okay, purchased. Do I have to do a normal install before being able to register on Steam?

No, just go to your games/downloads section, should be a "View Product Key" under it on the list. If not you may have to just start the download for that option to appear.

Done and done. Great deal, thanks for the info!

Damn damn damn I really really wanted to buy BC2 at that price, but I tried the demo and on low settings it still runs like dogshit. Strange when I can run some newer games better.

It favors processors over graphics cards.

I'm kind of not sold on Sanctum, why should I get it again?

I can't recommend it to be honest. Had to do some editing to get it to launch, it crashes if you alt tab twice. Also the game kills my hand from holding down my assault rifle every wave. Bit more fun in the multiplayer but you can't use steam's 'join game' button.

I'm not sure what kind of technical problems you had, I didn't have any of that. It also sounds like you might not be playing it right. All weapons have a secondary fire, so the assault rifle with also shoot grenades. Really each of the three weapons, sniper, assault and freeze are useful in the right situation.

I would recommend Sactum to anyone who likes tower defense and either likes or isn't bothered by playing FPS's. It's a pretty game and a lot of fun for what you're paying. Only thing I could see is that playing single player might get boring, but it's a good time with some friends.
