Asking this again, since this is a deal breaker:
If I understand what you're asking correctly, buying the DLC should work if it says on your store page that you own the game. There might be region locked content. What game are we talking about?

A couple of questions that will inform my final purchases:

Bloodlines - does it work without problems on Windows 7 64 bit as long as I'm using the latest patch?

Yes, I played through the entire thing with two crashes in 25 hours earlier this year on windows 7 64 bit. I was using the latest community patch, WESP I think.

One last shot:

Does anyone happen to have a copy of Frozen Synapse leftover from the sale that they would be willing to sell/trade?

keep your strippers out of my American football
I ended up with -

Assassin's Creed II
Borderlands DLC (I already had bought the base game from Steam)
Mass Effect 2
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Torchlight

I am trying to decide on Witcher 2. Seems like it would be a fun RPG tht would last awhile and not too complicated. But not like it's under ten bucks either. Any thoughts on Witcher 2?

Alright. So final sales debt:
SpaceChem -5.09
Atom Zombie Smasher -2.99
The Last Remnant -9.99
TOTAL -18.07

Also got gifted:
Trine (suprisingly awesome. Thanks again EatChildren!)
Terraria (haven't had the time to touch this yet, but thanks DennisK4!)

And then there's the ticket prizes:
Defense Grid Map DLC
SpaceChem DLC
Beat Hazard Gold Ship (lawl)
Team Fortress 2 Shades (unfortunately I have close to zero harddrive space, so I can't even install this game)
Portal 2 Snorkel (this game WILL be mine the next time it goes on sale :p)

Currently considering buying either Shatter or Toki Tori. Also deciding if I should grab another 3 tickets to grab another random prize. I'll probably pass though seeing as how I have all the ticket prizes I want.

Also, I would like to give honorary mentions to BigJiantRobut and lanbeast for being my head and legs :p Hopefully we meet epicly in another thread. Also SalsaShark, thanks for the awesome OP as well as the lulz obtained from all the pony girly games you've been gifted.

Until next time Steam! Hopefully I have more money by Christmas to spend on these sales.

Borderlands: How good is this game solo? If anyone cares to play coop at some point I'm down for that too. Planning on getting the GOTY version of the game.

Witcher 2: looks amazing and interesting. Only 33% off though, with all these games, should I just wait for a future sale where it will be at a lower price? Or is it so amazing that I need to play it now?

Assassin's Creed: I tried the first one on the 360 and hated it, it was just too boring and repetitive. I also started playing the second one but dropped it before the prologue was finished. Seeing them here for so cheap is tempting me to give it another go but I'm not too sure.

1) for that price is worth it, TRY to get someone to play co-op with though, its a million times better

2) Its amazing, as you might now, but if its not really your thing or you have other stuff to play its bound to be cheaper during the holiday sale

3) get 2, skip 1 and dont get Brotherhood yet

So what are the best non daily, non-indie* sales that aren´t Dreamfall/The Longest Journey or VtM:B?

* = It´s not that I don´t like indie games. It´s just that I already own the indie games I want to have.

Just Cause 2. I have a friend gifting me that who is from EU, but I plan to buy DLC for it.

Generic steam question: I had the Dirt 2 demo, then bought the full game. Now I can't figure out how to uninstall the demo. I thought maybe installing the whole game would remove it, but I'm not sure -- plus, I don't have the drive space to even do that. I'm managing space on a very small SSD, so if I could figure out how to delete it, that would be great...

Throwing it out there one last time, have a copy of Terraria and a copy of CivCity: Rome I'd like to trade for well, anything interesting I don't already have. If anyone ended up with extras on something amusing and wants to do a swap, shoot me a PM. Thanks kids!

Think you need to go into Steam apps and delete the folder. Don't think there's another way unfortunately.

Also, I have a copy of Sanctum up for trade.

Re: The Witcher 2. While I do think it has been oversold a bit, it is nonetheless an amazing game that is probably one of if not the most visually impressive games I've ever played and that is not hyperbole. The level of impact the graphics have on this type of game cannot be oversold, while exploring in the forests around the first town I kept having to pause and think to myself, how the hell does this game look this good on my mediocre hardware? Unfortunately the actual game parts don't keep up with the graphics. I personally thought the combat was pretty bad and the map system is abhorrent, and it's a WRPG where you're exploring a lot, so a map system is pretty important.

HAving said all that, it is $33. It's worth every penny if you're going to play it in the near future. If you're just going to buy it and it's going to sit in your backlog for the next 6 months, pass on it because it will definitely get cheaper quickly.

May as well post the damage:

Me:
===
Eschalon: Book 1 $4
DrakenSang $7
LucasArts Adventure Collection (For Fate of Atlantis and The Dig) $7
Paradox Fantasy Collection (for Majesty 2) $8
Dead Space 2 $15
Terraria $5 (I got it just at the switch it was $2.50 in my cart heh)
Risen $10
Defense Grid: The Awakening + DLC $3
Civilization V (GamserGate UK deal, activate on Steam) $11
Magika 4 pack $10
Vanquish Xbox 360 (EB Power Sale, yes I know its not steam but I was inspired by steam to spend even more money :D ) $10

Gifted:
=====
Lara Croft GOL $4
Supreme Commander 2 Infinite War DLC (x3) $9

TOTAL: $96

Well over my $50 budget, but some things in there I'd been waiting quite a long time for!

BocoDragon

or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Realize This Assgrab is Delicious
I bought VVVVVV for $2.50, but the steam servers are too busy. lol. I'm sure the game is like 1 Mb.

Well the way I see it, if I buy it now I will want to play it now and if it's so good I will most likely just keep at it until I finish it. But then again, I have other options for games to play. That's what I'm trying to figure out. Good impression though, you're selling me on it.

I have these sitting on my cart, yay or nay?

- Vampire the Masquerade
- Fallout Collection
- Lucas Arts Adventure Pack
- Longest Journey + Dreamfall
- Syberia Bundle
- Stubbs the Zombie

Audiosurf
Figured it was about time and it was only $1.50. I don't find it fun at all, but maybe I need to try out the different ships a bit more.

SpaceChem
I actually like this a lot, but once I got to a puzzle that I knew I could solve but didn't want to think that hard to solve it, I knew I had made a mistake.

I too bought Audiosurf because it was super-cheap in a previous sale and while it's neat for a few minutes I never found what so many others loved about it.

As for SpaceChem, I considered it but thankfully I tried the demo first. At first it was interesting but after a few puzzles I said "Wow, this feels like work" and knew the game was not for me so I removed it from the cart. I LOVE the soundtrack though, which is free to download.

I only had 9 tickets and still have nothing to spend them on. I am not interested in worthless cosmetic crap, and I don't own most of the games that are offering DLC. I'll pick up Alien Breed 2, I suppose. No matter how bad it is at least it's a game. I guess I'll get the Portal 2 snorkels and Gold ship for Beat Hazard. Don't really want either but I might as well spend the tickets. If I had a complaint it would be the piss-poor prize selection.

Total Saved: $362.45

I didn't specially have a $100 spending limit... funny that it turned out this way. I actually thought long and hard about every single one of my purchases, trying to avoid "zomg cheap!" buys. Or else I would have nabbed Prince of Persia pack, and a bunch of other stuff.

Although, I still succumbed to it a few times. Hacker Collection, Paradox Fantasy Pack, King Arthur Collection, and Faerie Solitaire weren't games that were even remotely on my hit list but I bought on impulse.

That "money saved" total above def. feels very very good, but I do think it's a bit misleading. The $195 that id normally asks for their complete pack is fucking nuts, for example. It should probably be about $100 normally, dropping to 30 for sales.

As I've mentioned before, this is my first steam sale with a game-capable PC. (I'm a Mac user and finally got Bootcamp set up). So there's a bunch of purchases in this sale I had to get "out of the way." In future Steam sales, I should be able to be more targeted, and keep my total to hopefully $50-60.

I have not used cocaine
I don't know if this was mentioned but Fallout: New Vegas was cheaper before. It was only 10.63 i think because it was nearly the same price i paid for it off of d2d i think. I remember going "Well i guess it didn't matter if i got it from d2d or on steam cause they were about the same". But it wasn't 14.99.

You would think after this many sales Valve would have gotten the pricing errors down by now.

Just Cause 2 is a nice-looking, cool game.

I think I'm completely done buying, but is there any reason to get Vampire Bloodlines Game Thingy if I already got it for like $10 on D2D or GoG? Do the fan patches work with all versions or just Steam?
