I think it's 10 AM PST which is AKA best coast time. If you're on the east coast, it's after lunch. If you're in Western Europe, it's dinner time. If you're in Eastern Europe, it's bedtime. If you're in Japan, it's yesterday.

Thanks guys for the answer. West coast is the best coast!

Yeah I can't get my headshots at all. Someone said it can't be done in a private server, so I went to a public one. Let's just say I can get around 4-5 before I die. It's actually pissing me off!!

I apologize. This achievement is actually harder than it should be. I have gotten over 8 headshots in a row, and it didn't register. I've been playing for like 30 mins went like 24-4 and 20-5, and still can't get it. If you want to just boost it let met know. add me vocab on steam

Yeah I shouldn't have been a dick too. I'll add you and see if we can get this done tonight :)

For those wondering, The Longest Journey seems to work fine with Windows 7 64 bit. It doesn't have Steam overlay though. Impressive game thus far. The graphics are outdated, but it has a good art style, and there's a surprising amount of dialogue and voice-work in the game.

Great now my bank account falls victim to this horrible drug habit. :( I guess I'll be the first.

Hi my name is Arkaerial and I'm a steam addict.

Yep, it's a shame as it's very good. I picked it up during its last sale and i kind of regret buying it, because the community was all but dead a couple days after it ended.

Precisely why I bought it during this sale for 1.50$. If I was going to buy and try to play Lead & Gold, I wanted it to be at its peak for users. I bought Section 8: Prejudice 2 months after it released only to discover the server list was a ghost town.

More than half the public servers I've jumped into tonight are simply achievement boosting.

Yeah, they should have chosen a better achivement for L&G, like play a full round or something similar. That'll cut out the silly grinding and show people what the game is really like. No new players right now are getting a realistic view of the game. I hadn't tried L&G yet, is there bot support? I don't regret buying section 8 in the slightest since you can play every mode against bots. I actually prefer that rather then trying to break into a small dedicated community. I'm in charge of the enemy's strength and I can learn the game at my own pace.

Yeah the cheesemint was a bad one. If you ever see me in L&G, feel free to click my name and join in. We usually have friendly matches whenever the game goes on sale.

Say, are those prices the same during the whole summer sale, or will they change with each new challenge set?

I believe they'll change if they're a daily deal. L&G and bit.trip will likely go up tomorrow.

I don't know what prize to pick!

I want the snorkels and the shades and the killing floor steampunks! I can't decide.

Oh they'd hate you over on the TellTale forums. There are a couple that love to just talk nothing but shit about how the game is too easy and that makes it the worst game in the world and everyone who likes it is destorying gaming and is a moron, etc.

I do understand though how you feel. I've always respected Telltale games but never been an adventure gamer and BTTF is perfect for guys like us.
I'm sure they would!

It's kind of funny as I enjoy ridiculously difficult platformers like Super Meatboy, I Want to be the Guy, Jumper, and the like, but when I play an adventure game it is to watch the story unfold and therefore I prefer a relatively easy gaming experience.

That's why this hint feature is the best for both groups, methinks. They are not forcefed easy puzzles and those of us who are mostly here for the story don't get stumped for too long.

Just Recettear and BIT.TRIP RUNNER for me today, bit of an underwhelming start (probably because I own most of the games)

Just bought that Penny Arcade combo pack and Back to the Future for just under $15

I dont think i will be buying anything outside of daily deals. I got so many games already i can afford to stall.

Judging from the prize booth i bet each of those games will become a daily deal.

Shatter is 2.50 for those that are interested.

Ah fuck it, I'll just post some "hidden" deals at 75+% off:

Crayon Physics Deluxe @ 75% off - $5/€4.5/£4
Flight Control HD @ 75% off - $1.25/€1/£0.75
Shatter @ 75% off - $2.50/€2/£1.75
Darkstar One @ 75% off - $2.49/€2.49/£1.49
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits @ 75% off - $2.49/€2.49/£1.74

Packs:

Penny Arcade Adventures Combo Pack @ 85% off - $1.80/€1.80/£1.35
Hacker Evolution Collection @ 75% off - $4.99/€4.74/£3.74

These probably won't go much cheaper but you might miss them. Feel free to add it to the OP if you think it's needed, Salsa. If you do, just send me a PM and I'll search the store for more stuff.

Finally dug through the entire thread. I don't think I'm going to be able to keep up with this thing.

But I must say this: BUY RECETTEAR. It's super good, it's made with love, and I feel really bad for paying so little for it last time. So if I can convince even one more person to buy it at $5, I'll feel a bit better for it.

One purchase, £59.99 (2K pack), card blocked for suspicious activity. Fuck my bank.

Also, what's this noise about playing the games we buy? How much spare time do you think I've got?

Im "taking notes" on the best cheap games available and i'll make another thread with info on the last day of the sales, wich is the recommended time to get them.

Yeah I don't know where that's coming from either.

I just like seeing the wall of games in my Steam Library and thinking that between all of them I have maybe spent 10 minutes per game. Including downloads.

There's a practice mode with bots but I haven't tried hosting my own game to see if there was an option to use them in an online match. if you try poking around a few servers you'll eventually find a good game that hopefully goes for a round or two before the host leaves. It's a lot of fun.

It's a really simple team based game. There are four classes to choose from, they each have passive abilities that increase in effectiveness as the player gets a higher score in the match and they've got unique abilities you have to activate. Marking enemy players, tossing dynamite, laying bear traps and rapid fire. It's got a smart respawning system. You can spawn at the dedicated base or mid-field if a friendly player is carrying your teams flag. The flagholder will passively heal all surrounding friendly players. This makes it easier, if somewhat riskier, in completing objectives and gives you a clear target on the enemy team. You want to kill their flagbearer so they have to spawn back at base camp and lose the passive healing. You can revive downed teammates, which nets you experience, which in turn improves your passive abilities making you and your teammates better. You get experience by attempting to and completing objectives. There's a lot of passive, positive reinforcement in the design that encourages team work.

I've played it for nearly two hours, if the community dies tomorrow, I've gotten my 1.50$'s worth. I do hope that people give it a shot though, really fun game. It's fast and kinetic third person shooter. Plus it's pretty badass (and unique) because it's in the wild west.

Picked up Recettear due to all the good word of mouth in this thread. I was debating on oblivion and borderlands but I'm gambling that they'll show up again the last day if I still have cash to burn.

That makes an even 20 spent on day one. On a positive note I will be set on games for the foreseeable future.

Your wish has come true!

Found this in the DD Deals thread:

$17. Registers on Steam.

RE: Civ 5

For those of us at work with a firewall that block Gamersgate is there an expiry to this deal? Would hate to buy it there only to find it goes to 75% off on Steam sometime this sale.

I can attest this, and I want to say thanks to all who recommended it, I wasn't very interested in the premise, but I ended up buying it just because it somehow reminded me of my favorite Harvest Moon titles and I'm glad I did, I'm pretty happy with it.
