Alright in all seriousness now:

Its the best way to enter the Civ series. It provides an extensive tutorial wich helps a lot with what might at first seem like a big learning curve, but its not. Easy to grasp but hard to master, like the best games. They cut some of the fat from Civ IV on this one, making it a bit more streamlined and a lot more accesible. Its the best Civ IMO and ive been playing a lot of civ since II.

Cant recommend it enough.

Im sorry but i highly recommend it specially for you Stupacabra :p, since its a better way to come back to Civ than Civ IV.
!!!
you're a man amongst man!
whilst i LOVED civ iv, I feel that civV while loosing something, is much more new-user-friendly, and it adds some layer or strategy with hexagon+1unit policy :)
Although I think that the cpu is either stupid or blatantly incompetent, lest you set the difficulty bar REALLY high, and in that case it's just a matter of racing ahed asap for sooner or later they'll (they as in at laeast 3 of the other cpu-controlled opponents) start to gank you say every 150 or so year screaming "I want your ass now!" :p

Is Civ 5 more noob-friendly then 4?
I played one mission for about 2 hours, and had no idea what I was doing, even the tutorial didn't explain everything.

Not sure if this was posted before... But I think I found a game WAY too cheap.

I jut bought the Penny Arcade Pack for 1.80€. YEsterday the game wasn't even discounted, and now both the single games cost 1.80€ and the pack, 1,20 €. The Steam page says that it's a special promotion that ends in 260+ hours, which is different than the generic "Summer Sale 2011" or the daily deals, so I think that it's a bug :D

It's my first Civ game (other than Civ Rev) and I found Civ V very well structured for new players. Trust me, get this game.

I love that the best thing to come out of today's Steam sale so far is... not from the Steam sale.

BTW I also have Civ 4. Should I play 5 then get into 4 for depth or something?

Is Borderland GOTY a good deal for 7.50? Would it get any cheaper anywhere else? I'm basically buying 2 copies so i can coop with my bud. Oh yea how's the coop?

If you haven't played it and is planning on playing COOP with a friend you really can't go wrong. It's also as low as the GOTY-edition is gonna go for a while. It's a great game.

If you can find someone who will split a 4-pack with you, that's the best deal.

I absolutely LOVE co-op (but I have a Mumble server, so the voice communication is a plus).

Need The Witcher 2. Is it fine to grab it today from Steam or does the GOG edition have advantages that justify the higher price?

Well, there's the patch size which i don't think they've fixed yet.
It basically redownload the whole game to patch the game.

Also GoG version gives all the money to the devs.

Apart from that nothing much differs from the two version as they already removed the DRM in all versions.

More money goes to the developers when buying from GOG and you get a digital version of the CE artbook. Steam version can only be updated through steam. Other goodies are the same and there are no "bad" versions of the game.

EDIT: Beaten, but the steam update thing was fixed.

Wow, looks like Test Drive Unlimited 2 is 50% as opposed to 83% like yesterday. Guess it must've been a price mistake. Glad I got it in time.

bit trip beat has amassed 12 purchases. But that one isn't the one listed on the sale page (even though it says franchise sale, most people saw runner and purchased that first, so that is the one that is listed).

Anyone to sell me on Lead and Gold? Never heard of it.

Just bought:
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Game of the Year Edition Deluxe (I have the Xbox version but only played a few side quests + MODS).
  • Borderlands: Game of the Year.
  • BIT.TRIP RUNNER (I planned to get the 3DS collection but it won't hurt to get both).
  • The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Digital Premium Edition.
