Okay, I have a problem that needs to be fixed very soon: I can't even access the pages to the Grand Theft Auto Collection. It says

"Sorry, but you're not permitted to view these materials at this time.

click here to return to the main page"

I'm not underage and the same thing happens with Call of Duty but NOT other M rated games. The url of the address is: http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/sub/605

Notice how everyone else has lists with a load of unplayed games? Just saying. You're an exception. Also, kudos to you for following the advice of the thread title before now, haha

You're better off with HOMM now, since the 6th one comes out soon. You'll get even further behind.

Shrug. I appreciate the advice, but there's only so many hours in the day. Hopefully I'll get around to checking out the HOMM franchise, but it probably won't happen within the next few months, so I held off on buying, today.

So far rather dissapointing sale, personally I wish they would drop the camp thing and give me just better sales that dont need games where you can do some crappy achievements on ...
I believe this summer's sale is a few days longer than last year's sale, though. So, it's not likely we're really missing out on any more big deals as opposed to what we had in the prior sale.

Thank you very much :)

Let me know here, via PM or in the SpaceChem thread if you need help to start out. The only problem this game has is, that its not to good in explaining the basics. Its not impossible to figure out, but undeservedly put some people off.
Are you a developer or viral marketer for it? Because it's the only game you keep talking about and you really think we all need to own it.

Just Cause 2 is an amazing deal folks, it looks great, the gameplay is ace, the story is cheesy but fun in it's own way and it's the complete opposite of linear. The island is so massive, you could fly around for hours and not experience all it has to offer.

I wouldn't say it's an amazing deal. The game is good for about 5 hours. It's just mindless fun. Don't try playing the main missions, it's better to just mess around in the game space.

Limiting myself to one a day at most. Yesterday got nothing, today Just Cause 2.
I'm doing the same. First day: Bloodlines, today: HoMMV pack. Hoping for fun tomorrow D:.

Bought Battlefront 2.

Passed on KOTOR. I know it looks great but I really don't have the time to sink in 50+ hours to play an RPG these days.

Its the only game I am talking about until Frozen Synapse goes on a daily sale, which deserves your attention even more. But no, I am not affiliated with those games, but think they are very much under appreciated.

I did the same with a few games during the last holiday sales and got quite a few gamers enjoying games (Civ City for one, which was a mindblowing deal for 1$) they otherwise wouldnt have tried, which is why I am talking lot about it. I already know it helps to get other people to buy and enjoy these games.

Soooo... buy this game :)

Edit: I also like a lot of other games but tend to stick to games that are really underappreciated. I also liked Terraria quite a bit, no use in "advertising" that anymore though.

Haha that TF2 achievement is so fucking easy, you get it in litterally 5 sec. Just go on a 2fort server and that's it.
Yeah there is a server set up now exclusively for people who want to get that achievement lol.

anyone got a tf2 server so I can catch myself on fire?
Search for a server with the pl_2fort map and voila.

Yesterday was a 27 and change a day. Today is 2.50. I think things are looking ok for now lol

I've steadied that son of the bitch ship and am slightly below 46 and change right now.

He's going to do the same when Frozen Synapse gets it's chance on the front page. Not because he's a viral marketer or dev, but because they are great indie games that get overlooked.

Toma has a good track record so far(CivCity/FS/SChem). My Steam list is happy.

A lot of my list isn't even from Steam. I just use it to launch all of my games with.

So I guess enthusiastic fans who enjoyed any game need not leave impressions or suggestions about them in this thread then??...

I actually LIKE to hear about what someone else thinks, that is half the reason I come to this thread. It compliments the sale.

Absolutely get Just Cause 2 for $5. I got it in the Xmas sale for the same price and I'll say the proof is in the pudding. Too much value.

My God. Valve has turned gamers into compulsive buyers! I have to ask a question, do you really play at least half of them?

It's kind of hard to discuss particulars without spoiling the experience for you, but yeah, some options are only open to the binary extremes. Being the knight in shining armor was kind of boring and annoying at times but it made being evil something I relished all the much more on the second playthough. Maybe I'm just a dick but I loved putting the screws to everyone in that game.

Well, it sounds like I'll have to give it a try then.

Getting SpaceChem, that soundtrack is amazing. I presume everyone should buy Just Cause 2, I say presume because I bought it and never played it.
I was gonna buy Shogun 2 but I found a CD key on eBay for £10, can't go wrong with that price.

Edit: whoops nothing to see here, move along.

Just cos they're installed doesn't necessarily mean they've been played... it's a lot easier to attempt it if they're ready and waiting.

I have a mythical dream that one day I'll be shipwrecked on a desert island with a decent PC, internet connection and my Steam account and basically force myself to wade through my backlog.

Heh. It might just happen.

70 hours on that bad boy and I haven't finished yet, woo! Too tempting to just blow shit up at random...

How long is Spacechem? Looks sort of interesting. Is there any replay value in this puzzle game?

It literally doesnt have an end. To get through all the stuff which is in there now might take you 50+ hours. Plus user made levels. And it doesnt get stale either. In my first 30 hours they constantly introduced new challenges and features. And boy is it rewarding to learn and get better in those levels. (Which makes levels VERY replayable)

New Steam Sale purchases:
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution - $14.99
Sid Meier's Civilization V - $11 (Not a Steam sale, got it from GG, but I am counting it anyway because it activates on Steam)
Just Cause 2 DLC - $2.22
Star Wars Battlefront II - $2.49
SpaceChem - $5.09

My previous Steam Sale purchases:
BIT.TRIP.RUNNER - $2.50
Paradox Fantasy Pack - $7.99

That DLC and Battlefront II were total impulse buys. Didn't expect to have spent this much by only the second day... I need better trigger discipline. :|

Just the Heroes pack for me, today. A lot of great games, but most of the dailies today are ones I already own.

Well, bought on Steam, anyway. Hard to resist picking up Civ 5 for 11 bucks. That'll be a great game to have sit on my backlog while I continue to say 'I'll get around to it eventually'.

DMC4 is tempting, especially since I've never played it, but I'm having a hard time giving Capcom my money after some of the stunts they've pulled lately.

Anyone know if Stranger's Wrath is any good? Will either go with the Oddbox or the above pack.
Not sure if they fixed it, but when the Oddbox came out it was completely broken on PC. Not a very good port, but they claim that they'll fix it. Some work has been done but they're still pretty messy.
