Steam winter sale begins December 18 according to PayPal

PayPal has once again outed an upcoming Steam sale before Valve has had the chance to announce it.

While I personally got an email on the matter pertaining to the Black Friday weekend sale, this time, it’s PayPal Japan which has outed the next occurrence of wallet molestation.

It's that time of the year again where I drop a lot of money on Steam sales and just tell myself that I'll get a proper gaming PC "soon." It's only been happening for the past 4-5 years.

This is my first time experiencing the winter sale as I just built my first PC. How fucked in my wallet?

Pretty fucked, but make sure to wait for the dailies.

I'm actually good on games but I do hope that You Need a Budget 4 goes on sale.

I still have games from the last winter sale
2 years ago
that I haven't played.

I need to learn some self control for these things.

Probably sitting this one out, for the most part. I'm more focused on Wii U, and Rebirth eats up all of my PC gaming time.

Pretty fucked.

Just remember to wait until daily or flash sales. Don't buy anything otherwise unless it is the final day of the sale, else you risk the game going for much less the next day.

It doesn't specify, but since this is a Japanese newsletter the date might actually be the 17th for the US?

I've actually held on things fairly well since the summer, so hopefully there is some good stuff to pick up. At least Metal Gear is supposed to be that day.

I'm more interested in what crazy metagame they'll have for us this time. Will we be randomly playing games to earn coal, or will it be another case of people effectively spending over $30 for a chance to win three games from their wishlist.

Last year I sold some dota items before the sale and got around $35. With that $35, I got more games than I could play this year. So honestly, you're probably going to be good. Just wait for the dailies.

Appreciate your first sale. It is an incredible gaming experience.

You will only end up playing about 10% of the games you buy ;)

Oh, and yes, your wallet is fucked.

I'll allow myself to spend € 50. I know it's a not going to happen, but I'd love to not buy anything for a change (to my credit, I did not give in during the autumn sale). My backlog is still huge and I'd be better off saving the money. Them deals though...

I only have 18 games on my wishlist. Maybe I will clean it completely this time around.

I actually had like 50 titles on the wishlist but I removed most of them, because I am sure I would likely never finish those games.

Reduced on release day?

nah

Oh, it will. See how MGS Rising preorder got introduced last winter sale and discounted at 33%off. The same thing will happen now. There's no chance in hell that it doesn't have a discount because they would lose all the exposure they could potentially have. They would get buried by everything else on sale.

European Steam is terrible, I don't know how anyone can buy games from there. US gifters are helpful!
